You' Are So Sweet

Hi crafters!   I decided to show one of the cards from the Vintage Sunflower set today.  This is a beautiful set by Justrite.  I embossed the top part of the white background first using the large polka dot mask.  I matted it on a piece of tan card.  I stamped the sunflower twice.  I coloured the flowers on both and just the stem and leaves on one of them.  I used the Tim Holtz distress markers to colour it and added a bit of Diamond Sparkles for bling.  I used a white gel pen to add some highlights to the flowers.  I cut out the flower on the second one and decoupaged it up using mounting foam.  I cut a Filigree Delight die and mounted it up with foam so the flower showed through the opening.  The second flower has been stamped so that the tip of the flower was under the frame so the decoupaged flower is actually lined up and placed above the frame.  I stamped the sentiment from the Bold Sentiment set from Creative Expressions and added a thin yellow line by hand to the stamped sentiment.  I cut it into a strip and added it below my focal element.  I tied a messy bow of white seam binding.  I added some yellow Bakers Twine and finished with an antique gold button.  I finished with a double white pierced mat and some flatback pearls on the frame.  I hope you like it!  Finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/2" in size.

The winner of the Wednesday Weekly card giveaway this week is:

 Michelle Stanley!!!

Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize!   All for now, Sue x

GM Sue - love the white highlights on the sunflower - that really brings it to life. Keep meaning to ask you how do you do such perfect layers? do you cut them by eye using a trimmer or is there some special gadget you use to get them so thin yet so precise - one of your fab videos on this would be wonderful I am thinking..... Hope you dont mind me suggesting this.

Congrats to Heather, Im just NOT lucky : ( didn't win owt on Kim's blog either, as in the song in Cinderella - with a slight change in lyrics " one day my time will come" : )
Mrs W - this card is utterly stunning, beautiful beyond all words, a true W.O.W. In my books, thank you for sharing with us your world of beauty and talent. Maybe this time next year I will have a few more dies, stamps, and folders to help me make some lovely projects, they will never equal what you spoil us with, but with what the company give us to work with, maybe I can 'do better' as my report card use to say !
Sending all Winter Wilsonettes much love, health and happiness over the Christmas holiday if you cant come to play, and those of you in the position to play here over Christmas, I'll be seeing you.
Love n hugs.

Morning Sue
What a lovely card!! You come up with such beautiful combinations for cards! Love the lacy effect with the country flower. Even just the two rounded corners lets the color peak through just that little bit more bringing your eye to the sunflower. Will have to try the highlighting of the script, love the look. Feels like spring in the air, goes nicely with our unusually warm weather this week-end here in Ct. Congrats to the lucky winner!

Back to today's wonderful creation and the beautiful sunflower. Its nice to get brightened up with the flowers that have yet to come. The sunflower is such a good flower for different occasions.
Congratulations to Michelle and Pam on your treasures that are beyond price.
