Welcome Little One

Hi crafters!  Today's card is a sweet baby card that I have constructed from the Welcome Little One Frame.    I started by cutting the decorative die from the Caroline die set into a piece of coconut white card.  I backed it with Custard card to create the background for the card.  Next I cut the Welcome Little One Frame out of white card and inked through the die with Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink while it was still in the die.  I nipped the frame apart, taking the baby blocks together and the bottle and booties as another piece.  I cut the die again in black and nipped it apart in the same way and used that as a shadow.  I made a multi layered frame using the Double Stitched Rectangles with a wider white frame and a thin custard frame added on top.  I added the two separate pieces from the frame to either side with foam.  I cut the sentiment in both black and custard card, shadowed it and glued it into the centre of the Caroline die in the background.  The card was
completed with white, custard, and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  7 3/4" in size.  All for now Sue x

Morning. This makes a lovely change, a celebration of a new life and die frame. As I type this, I have a card with fluffy clouds with a cute spring lamb and stars surrounding a treat cup with pretty bling inside (at last I bought some) ! But I'm still waiting for a name to personalise this card in awaiting ! It's not often these days that parents to be aren't ready with a name. I have this beautiful frame on my list to add to my other baby does you have given us and it can't come soon enough.
Thanks for this cute sample and the inspiration. Enjoy your day xxx

Who would have thought that Antique Linen and Custard card would be a perfect color match. I’ll have to serve chocolate pudding instead of custard if I ever break out the heirloom table coloths and invite my toothless acquaintances over for a soft snack. Otherwise they wouldn’t be able to find what they’re eating.

How did you know Caroline would go so well on a baby card? I’d want something less girlie for a new baby boy. But what? Maybe Tahiti.

And maybe turquoise for the color. That would work for a girl, too.

Hmmm, orange would be interesting for a baby of unknown gender.

Those snippable frames sure are useful!

Congratulations to all awaiting a new little person.

Best,
Donita

Hi Sue, a lovely alternative way to use the Welcome Little One Frame and I love the gentleness of the custard card and antique linen ink, such a nice change from the usual blue or pink. Caroline sits very nicely in the centre, I must remember to try something like this in the future.
