Merry Christmas

Hello crafters!  I had a request for this one so here it is!  I started by taping the Snowflake Flurry mask to a piece of coconut white card.  I used the Silver Chrome Ultra Sparkle Texture paste through the mask, then set it aside to dry thoroughly.  I used the smaller circle from the Snowfall Background to cut an aperture in the lower corner.  I added mounting foam to raise it to create some space.  I cut a backing piece and embossed it with the Falling Snow embossing folder and attached it to the back.  Next I cut the snowman from the Build A Snowman die set.  I added his eyes with a pencil and cheeks with a small smoothie and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink.  I added a hat cut out of aqua card and a black band which I nipped from a hat cut from black card.  I added a small holly sprig and a Berry Sparkle PVA got as the berry.  I used used a blue pencil to add highlights to the snowman.   I cut a black bow tie and aqua buttons and a carrot nose.  I added two arms and the sign cut out of tan card.  I stamped a small Merry Christmas in black on the sign.  I trimmed the bottom of the snowman and sign, then tucked them into the aperture with foam pieces.  I used both of the circle dies from the Snowfall Background and made a thin frame out of silver mirror card which I added around the aperture.  White and silver mirror card mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hello Sue and all
I am so tempted by this little snowman even though he is as far from an Australian Christmas as you can get. I mainly do poinsettias, holly, stars, gingerbread men or winter scenes which can be thought of in any climate but your snowman is so cute and this card is gorgeous.
I broke the rule for your adorable robin too!
Hugs

Yes, this little snowman is the one who convinced me, too. He now lives in my craft room.

And I had to get the snowball frame because of its sentiments, one of which is: You make my heart melt.

As someone who isn't an artist, I appreciate you showing us things like shading the snowman with blue. Never wudda thot athat.

Best,
Donita

Good morning Sue and all Wilsonettes.
A gorgeous card today Sue (As usual) I have sooooooo many dies and didn't know that I don't have a snowman. I will have to rectify that pretty soon as I am now doing Christmas cards for family and friends.

I do look forward to your daily posts Sue.
Thank you.

Good Morning Sue and all
What a fantastic card this morning. I love the background you have created with the snowflake flurry mask, the sparkle is perfect for a Christmas card. I keep looking at the frame you have created for the snowman , to me it looks like glass or a compact mirror and the snowman is popping out the card.
Thank you for sharing this card and your step by steps.
Crafty hugs and well wishes to all..... Wendy

Hi Sue. After your recent visit to HOCHANDA I just fell head over heels with this little guy even more so than when you launched him into the craft world. You showed us so many cute samples using your snowman that it's one I cannot resist, I know we are just into August and summer is still well and truly with us in the U.K. but this guy would certainly tempt me to make a start on the C cards even though it's a subject that's banned until December lol ! A beautiful sample with a cute and cheeky face included ☺ have a lovely day Sue xxx

Good afternoon Sue, I have been absent from your blog for a few days as had to rush to France as my daughter-in-law phoned to say my son was in hospital with a heart problem and would I go and look after my grandchildren. Glad to say it was not his heart, but he has some kind of infection which is hopefully getting better. Lovely card today and some lovely ones that I have missed. Love Jean xxx

Hi Sue, a great fun card for anyone with the sweet snowman popping out from the aperture to wish us a Merry Christmas.I have actually started to get my mind into Christmas card mode this week and the first things that are pulled out of the boxes are always my Sue Wilson dies. I like looking at them, I could look at them for hours but they won't make the cards by themselves so I guess I had better actually do something about it.

Jean - I hope your son recovers quickly and you don't have to do another mercy dash.

This cute snowman won my heart, but … yes, there is a “but” to build him is a lot of work.
If you intend to make 1-5 cards maybe is Ok but I have to make 30+ cards, at least 25 for my co-workers. I spoiled them over the years and they were disappointed not to get handmade cards last year, but they got a handmade decoration and a card instead.
On the other hand I am not sure if my snowman will be so cute like yours, but (another but) I might buy this die set for all the children in my family (reasonable number, less than 10).
Thank you for describing so well how you created this lovely card. You never know, I might give it a try.
Hugs from Toronto to you all and special hugs to all missing friends.
Still a newbie to Craft / not longer the newest, or the only across the pond Wilsonette

Your Hochanda show (like many others have said ) sold me on this little guy even though I have several snowmen in my collection already. He is here and will be a star on some of my Christmas cards this year once I get into the spirit which is hard for me to do in the summer. He has so many cute accessories. I love the lamp post and sign. I had to get the snowball frame too because he looks so adorable in it and if you have snowmen, you got to have snowballs.
Have a great evening,
