Thankful For You

Hello there my crafty friends!  Teal, black and white for today's offering (I just love that colour combo!)  I started with a piece of teal card as my background and cut two of the Victoria die in white and cut them in half lengthwise, gluing the pieces to the upper and lower edge of the card.  I added a strip of white pearls along both edges to conceal the cut lines.  Next I cut the Classic Adorned Hexagon in white, backed it in white and cut the centre of it out to create a frame.  I used the Double Stitched Hexagons to create a thin black frame to sit at the inner edge of the frame.  I cut the centre of the Adorned Hexagon in white without the cutting edge and mounted it behind the white frame.  I added it to the centre of the card, allowing the teal backing card to show through.  I stamped a sentiment and cut it out with the centre hexagon shape and added it to the middle of the frame with foam.  Next I cut two of the Nasturtium Clusters in white.  I added the matching flowers inked in Peacock Feathers and offset two of the larger flowers in the middle of the cluster, also inked with Peacock Feathers.  I glued them into place along the edges to add a floral element to the card.  White, black and teal mats and layers and white flatback pearls were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  9 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Gorgeous card Sue. Brightens my Monday. Boy am I thankful for you and your blog.
Back to work today but another shirt week, off Thursday and Driday, I could get used to this.
Elaine, I'm sorry to hear that Abdrew hasn't been well this time, hooe his treatment can go ahead. Apply that Nary is feeling better and starting treatment. You have a lot on your plate, please take care.
Ann, I live in Hartlepool on the North East coast. My mum used to make her bread on a Saturday, my dad wouldn't eat sliced bread, had to be cut from the loaf. We always had stotty buns hit from the oven and she made stotty cakes fior my dads bait at the pit. The house used to smell lovely with the bread baking in the oven on the side if the fire.
Dorothy, it will be a long process for you but it needs to be done. Take your time and get well.
Donita, are you okay, everyone is missing you.
Rosemary, hooe you are well too, you are a big miss.
Rosemarie, has your little man gone home now, you must have had a very enjoyable but tiring weekend, rest up now.
Warming hugs to all, esoecially missing and poorly friends.

Hello Sue and all
Yes, I too love that colour combination, the black contrast just makes the whole card zing !
Busy weekend but back to C cards again today. Slowly getting there, had a wasted hour or so searching for my Santa and sleigh die today. I had used it in the last half hour so went through the paper rubbish three or four times, actually got to clean out some of my card drawers, checked the top of the desk so many times and finally threw the paper rubbish into the laundry tub - and the first thing I saw - yes cheeky Santa and the reindeer, so relieved and again realising how much the craft room needs a complete sort out, the things I found !!!
Lol!

Morning Sue, One of my favourite colour combo s as well. I think it was you that introduced me to teal many years ago!!! Lovely card.

I had a great weekend with my little Grandson, he certainly kept me on my toes, but he gives me lots of lovely cuddles. I think maybe a quite day today though!!!

Enjoy your short week Pam. Perhaps we should go back to the "three day week", then there would be more time for crafting.

Good Morning Sue. Love these colours together and such a brilliant use of the dies. I just love my hexagon dies. I have been asked to make a 70th birthday card for a lady who is mad on doing patchwork. So I thought I could use the small hexagon dies with some of the paper's I have accumulated. Hoping it turns out well....fingers crossed.
Pam I can smell that bread baking from here! My dad also was a miner working down the pit. He used to take dripping cake down with him...better know as fat and bread. I noticed you called your dad's his bait, my dad used to call it his snap. They couldn't smoke either down the pit so he used to chew tobacco it was a black substance which they called pigtail and it looked awfull, used to make his teeth go black. Ohhh what memories... Best Wishes to all. Kind regards Ann Toppcards.

Dear Sue and Friends,

You struck gold with this card, at least from me. Well, you spun straw into gold, because this card was the last straw that caused me to buy all the Hexagons, the Nasturtium Cluster, and the Victoria.

Congratulations to all the winners! Crewe Trish you'll have to tell us what your prize is!

Senior moments here, too. My pill organizer keeps track of the day for me, but sometimes I forget the season. Well, not surprising given New England's weather. My keys are always clipped to my pocketbook. And thank goodness for iPhone reminders. So the big challenge in getting out the door is shoes that match.

My laundry dries nicely on a line in my hall, but no husband would put up with that, I'm sure. I like it because getting dressed is like picking fruit from trees. Being single has its advantages.

Lovely of you to miss me, Pam, Carmen and Crewe Trish. I worked too hard and long last week, and I'm just now starting to feel human again.

I'm so glad you caught up with Santa, Muriel Kelly.

Your hexagon patchwork card is going to be sensational, Ann Toppcards.

I tried coloring some cardstock with Distress Oxides for the rusty Industrial Chic look. Hope they look better after they're cut.

Thanks for the fragrance of fresh-baked bread and those delectable morsels of local words.

Love,
Donita

Pam - I love short weeks , too. A few years back we used to work 4 days/ week. I was off Mondays and worked Fridays, when we were 4-5 people in the office. Most of us regretted when we went back to the normal schedule working 5 days/week.

Beautiful card Sue. Love the colour combination and the dies. Can't get anymore before Christmas but the hexagons are on my wish list. Dentist tomorrow. Just hope I remember and don't wake up and wonder what day it is. Must put a reminder on my mobile. Echoing your comments Pam. Elsine what a time yo make a delivery. I think sometimes they just put a card through the door and don't even have to parcel with them. If I have a parcel from Amazon I have it delivered to the local shop and pick it up there. Can't miss it then.

Hi Sue. WOW, WOW, WOW !!! Today's card is absolutely STUNNING !!!! It is soooo gorgeous !!!! I think this is one of my most favourite cards you have made lately. I love your black, white and teal colour combo. Your Victoria die is a stunning die Sue. I really love this one ( it is on my huge Christmas wish list) and I think it is a fabulous "go to" die for mixing and matching with lots of other dies to create gorgeous effects, just like you have done with today's card Sue. I love its design and its shape. I am also loving how you have used your Classic adorned Hexagons and pierced Hexagon dies. ( my favourites at the moment) to create a very pretty arrangement. A great sentiment and you have used those fabulous Nasturtium Cluster dies !!! What a fabulous finishing touch. ( I hope you can see how much I adore this card.) I really must have a go at making my own version of this card. Thank you for sharing your stunning card today Sue. Lots of love to you from Tres x x x

Catching up today as I missed yesterday's blog post and what a fabulous card to find. Would have been a crime to have missed this one. I love teal and I have several of the dies so now of course I want the one I don't have. I have already asked Santa for SW dies in the form of a gift card but I know I have not been good enough to deserve ALL the dies I would like, ha.
Muriel glad you found your Santa, the slippery little guy and Elaine, I hope you ran down your package yesterday. Donita, loved your image of "picking" your outfit for the day.
Love to all,
