Make a Cake Card

Hi crafters!  How about some chocolate cake just dripping in icing!  Okay, it's just a die but it does look good, don't you think? LOL  Here is a really fun set that you can use for anyone's birthday card!

The finished dimensions are 7" x  7" in size. All for now, Sue x

Beautiful card, so gorgeous. I could eat some of that lol.
Elaine, it is no wonder Andrew wasn't taking it all in, what a blow to receive, Helen must be so anxious . I pray that the stent and treatment work as planned and the outcome is successful. You were right to stay home, as much as you want to support your boy, you don't want to pass on any infection.
Helen and hubby, hope you feel better soon.
CraftySue, hope your meeting went well yesterday. For whatever reason you are resigning, your boss has to accept that. I hooe there are no bad feelings on his part to spoil your remaining time there. Good luck
Lynne what a terrible journey you had, hope you are now well rested and recovered.
June, glad to hear you are feeling a bit better, Colin's beef casserole should help. He should be on the NHS list.
We got a lot of snow yesterday so cancelled a trip to Sunderland to take the boys to spend their Christmas money. It started to that early afternoon so my SIL and I ventured to Hartlepool, the main roads were fine once we got out of the Close but so cold that by evening the ground was frozen solid. If all well today my elder daughter is taking us all to Sunderland for a couple of hours and tonight we have a table booked at Toby Carvery, my visiting 15 Year old nephews favourite place to dine when he is here. Tomorrow we hope to get to Seaham to Lickety Splits to meet more family, ice cream in this weather are we mad but Elliot says it is what makes his Christmas holiday tradition.
Keep warm , safe and well everyone, sending lots of hugs out today, all with hot water bottles, thinking of all missing poorly and anxious friends.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh this is good enough to eat, I can just taste that icing on the cake. beautiful.

Pam I reiterate all you have said above, shame about the weather spoiling some of your plans but you are in the best place, keep safe and warm. Hopefully you will all be able to get out today and later have the Carvery, what a treat that will be.

Special hugs to Elaine, Andrew and Helen, am thinking of you all.

Off to a Groovi workshop this morning, looking forward to that.

I had some really great news yesterday about the Groovi retreat, one of my best friends has been able to book it and come down from up North for it, so I am over the moon.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Steph Cotterill said...

Morning Sue from a peaceful little cottage out in the sticks where the view of the super moon should be magnificent. Talking of magnificent this sample is just that plus this cake die will be the one of the first that's ticked off the new list once 2018 is in full swing. I had a momentary panic when I read on Paul's fb group that Julia had a show demonstrating your Cocktail Hour dies as I wasn't sure this cottage had HOCHANDA on its tv package and not set to record before leaving ! But I'm really pleased that it does so I can settle in the warm and watch 'The Queen Of Backgrounds' work her magic ☺
So a big Saturday hug is finding its way to you and I hope your day will be as peaceful and as happy as my Saturday will be (providing there's no grouse shooting etc) !! Xxx

CraftySuetoo said...

Good morning Sue. Lovely card, the cake looks good enough to eat, and it's great to see your paved pearl technique around the edge.
Elaine, sorry to read about Andrew's results, I hope the new treatment eases his pain and gets rid of this awful disease. Sending prayers to your family.
Pam, I hope you get to have your carvery and ice cream!
My meeting went ok, the boss was disappointed I was leaving but understood my reasons, he even said there's a job there for me any time. Love the people I work with but the shifts are too much for me. Hugs to all. Sue xxx

Morning Sue,what a scrumptious card. Great treat for those of us who are now on post Christmas diets as your cake is calorie free. Will watch the video later. Hugs xx Pauline

Just getting over all the rich food of Christmas but yes please, that chocolate cake looks delicious. Great card Sue, thank you. Have a lovely weekend. Xx

Dear Sue and Wilsonettes,

Scrumptious! Mostly what I'm drooling over is the alphabet grid, with letters that work just as well in positive as negative. Like Cr@fty, I love how you made a picky-uppy tool with your pokey tool and part of a glue dot.

In case my home computer doesn't recognize me, this is Donita, keeping warm in New England and feeling sorry for Carmen in Toronto, where it's cold enough to put your chunk out.

Instead of worrying about Andrew, I'll send healing energy with an encoded message to his rogue cells to take a holiday and stay gone. That man sure can endure.

I wish we had a miniature die cutting machine, for little dies we need to cut lots of times. Like the berry boughs, or single words, or stitched flags. It would be nice to sit and watch TV while running little bits through a machine on a tray or something. And that one could carry on a plane for die-cutting while on vacation. Or buy to keep at one's cousin's house in Phoenix for when one visits.

May everyone enjoy Saturday in some way, no matter what the circumstances.

love,
Donita

...and looking at today's card (and having caught up with some of Julia's recent shows) I now realise how much I NEED that Alphabet Grid but having had to invest in a new mangle my die-buying will have to be put on hold for the time being!...Curses!!!

Off to watch the video anyway...lol

Hi Sue, I love chocolate cake! The icing/frosting looks very realistic and the Alphabet Grid is one of my top wish list items. Very clear video as usual and a great tip for a pick-up tool.

Donita - I have a Grand Calibur for all the big jobs but I also have a Spellbinders Sapphire. It is a dinky little machine, not very heavy and the plate sizes are just 2.5" x 6". It is perfect for sentiments and most of Sue's smaller dies including the berry boughs and all of the banner dies.
Pam - enjoy your family trips out, traditions start early don't they :-)
CraftySuetoo - glad the meeting went well and isn't it nice to know that you are appreciated and will be welcomed back at any time.
Stephanie - enjoy your quiet time at the cottage.

Pam, enjoy your visit to Lickity Splits tomorrow, when we have a ride out to Scarborough we have lemon top ice creams from Jaconellis even in winter so I don’t think your mad...but then maybe I am too? Xx

Donita, I loved your message to Andrews rogue cells, a great approach. X

Elaine I think it’s great that you write down any messages that Wilsonettes leave for Andrew. That way he can tell we are all thinking of him and rooting for him to get well. Xx

Going now to fill yet another hot water bottle as I’m still shivering and achy.

Love to all
