Christmas Double Day

Hi bloggers!  Two completely different cards for our double day of Christmas!  First up is an almost romantic looking gold and white card.  I started with a piece of coconut white card for the background.  I cut four of the Poinsettia Clusters in white and added antique gold flowers to them.  I glued two across the top and two across the bottom of the card.  Next, I cut a wide strip of white card and embossed it with the Wild Poinsettia embossing folder.  I raised it with mounting foam and attached it across the centre of the card.  I stamped a sentiment and cut it out with the Pierced Flags die set, adding a gold mat for it by using the next size up in the set.  I added it across the centre of the card then made two sheer Poinsettias using vellum and the Classic Poinsettia die set.  I embellished the flowers with Berry boughs and Holly Swirls cut out of white card.  White and gold mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

Card number two is a cheeky little gingerbread man card in a snowglobe.  I have loads of gingerbread cards to share (since he was the main feature in one of my Christmas shows).  For this card, I embossed a piece of coconut white card with the Poinsettia Trellis embossing folder for background texture.  I wrapped a piece of red crinkly edged organza ribbon around the card and taped the ends to the back.  I tied a double bow and added it to the right side with a white crystal sparkler in the centre.  Next I cut the frame from the Gingerbread Man die set in white and added a red backing then cut the centre out of it.  I added foam to the back to raise it and attached it over a Lattice Ribbon background with a white backing piece.  Inside the frame, I added a Snowglobe cut in brown with green holly sections.  I cut the gingerbread man in tan card and added him to the centre of the globe.  I decorated him with red and green bow and buttons and white icing pieces on his arms and legs.  I cut a little candy cane for his hand.  I added a rim of iced snow around the inside of the globe for a bit of bling.  White and red mats and layers were used to finish this card.  The finished dimensions are
7 1/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Love two fer Fridays Sue, stunning cards. Love the delicacy of no 1 and the fun vibrancy if no 2,, can't choose I'm afraid.
Happy 1st December everyone.
So enjoyed Julia's shows, she really does bring out the best of your dies Sue, she is a true crafter. Would e an awesome show with the two iof you together, Hochanda pkease take note.
Loved Johns shows too, missed Stephs mention, will have to Rewind. Well done Steph .
Maureen all this talk of dumplings and puddings brought back lovely memories of a happy childhood when you didn't think of the sad things that touch lives. My dad used to say Nanas steak pudding clagged to the ribs. Yes Rosemary, think it was more a Northern thing the women cooked for their men working in the mines, steelworks and shipyards. Hearty food, panaccelty, broth and dumplings etc. No pizzas or spag Bol in those days.
Alison good news from your Consultant even though it's not quite what you wanted. Let's hope this fixes the problem, no more pain or knee brace will be a result.
June, you are a star, I knew you ran a craft group but so organised with your collections etc. Wish I lived closer I would love to be no 15.
We had a lot of snow yesterday, driving was very bad, this morning it has frozen solid, please take care everyone, got to go to clinic this afternoon, hooe there is a thaw by then.
Hugs to all, very warming today. Thinking of all poorly and missing friends.

Morning Sue. I'm chuffed to bits to see your 2nd sample as I'm waiting in anticipation for both the snow globe, gingerbread cuties, plus 'here comes Santa ' to be officially handed over by Mr postie and I wish he'd get a shufty on as I've saved long and hard for these each month so my impatience is kicking in.
I made something a tiny bit like sample one as a winter wedding card and also for a December birthday. Plus some of the festive 2016 dies make fabulous male orientation December birthday cards too. So what I'm trying to say is that both samples mean something today. After a long arduous road trip to Leeds yesterday meant no crafting so as my festive order is growing rapidly with each email I really have to push myself to get cracking or they may not be ready until next December !!
So thank you for today's samples I love them.
Wishing you a warm happy day with love and a few hugs thrown in ☺ xxx

Good Morning Sue. Love the double days Sue but you really know how to put us all in a quandary. They are both beautiful works of art. Having trouble deciding but as my Grandchildren are both grown up now I think the first one just tops it a little for me. I wish the ginger bread man die had been around when my grandchildren were children I know they would have loved him he looks a happy little guy. They grow up so quickly and then all of a sudden they are adults. Where do the years go. Thankyou Sue for all your hard work I am sure by now you realize just how much we appreciate it. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, two amazing samples today, the first looks really regal with the gold and white, and love the poinsettias. The second uses the cuddly gingerbread man, what a delight there would be on children's faces if they received this card, - also lots of adults too. I am not going to choose because it is too hard.

Pam I reiterate all you have said above. I heard Steph mentioned on John's show, I knew it was our Steph too. it was an amazing day yesterday on Hochanda with Julia (catching up for me as I missed some of them) and then watching John, I did manage to get out to the shops for a few bits in between the shows so I think I must have square eyes this morning, some beautiful samples and techniques, even to the micro beads for the sunflowers. Now take card when driving and hope the clinic visit is good. Would also love you to be no. 15.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Morning Sue,

A gorgeous twofer today...1 very elegant and the other very cute for our little fuzzy ones.

No snow down here for us...I think it has missed us out. Instead we have large cotton wool ball like clouds, bright blue sky and brilliant sunshine bathing the remaining leaves a golden hue.

Busy day today, have finally found and have had delivered a small upright freezer that fits just under the split level stairs. Has been bothersome trying to find the right size although the cubic capacity is smaller than the old one, bought I hasten to add about 10-12 years ago. So freezer food shopping I go later on. Frozen peas is the one thing I have really, really missed so I expect you can guess what veg we will be eating with tea tonight.

Gurt squashy comfort blanket ((((hugs)))) to all in need of one and for those feeling the icy cold fingers of winter. Stay safe if driving out and about.

Love 7 hugs

Dear Sue and The Happy Fridays,

OK, I'll admit that Izzi's right, your poinsettias have worked their magic on me, but my goodness, Card 1 is poinsettia overload!!! Sending me straight into the gingerbread arms of Card 2. I must give a nod to the berry boughs, which not only have Not A Poinsettia going for them, but also they convey a texture of Christmas. What I like about GingerBoy is that he's not sealed up behind acrylic and getting microbeads and glitterbitz in his frosting. He merely suggests a shaker card by being inside a snow globe. Very clever!

All the best to all of you, especially Tracy.

Love,
Donita

Hello Sue,
Another lovely twofer! The first is my favourite. The second is lovely too but I love the more traditional card! You have something for everyone , dear lady!
Maureen - I’ve read what you have been saying - your days are numbered!! Lol! Not being able to comment is like having Duck Tape stuck over one’s mouth!!
Pam - hope you have enjoyed your day off! It’s been freezing cold here but we have had lovely sunshine for the last three days! The sunset tonight was one of the best I’ve seen for a very late night time! Wish I could share the photos my husband took from his study window!
Now June - I too would love to join your Craft Group. The trouble is - if some joined - who shall be nameless - you would have a very small group!!!
Maureen and Littlelamb are trouble you know! I felt it was only fair to warn you!!
I may need to leave the country! I hope you all have a lovely Christmas! Lol!
Now - PP , Laine , Norah and others - we miss you!
Yorkie Girl - I can manage Tattie Soup , Scotch Broth etc. However I fail miserably on Stovies! Not my area so my Mum didn’t cook them. However Patricia made excellent Stovies this week! Is there a recipe for Stovies!
I bet you are all thrilled to have me back! - NOT!
