Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello my crafty friends!  Today's card giveaway offering is a really girlie one with a big bow (because I haven't done any bows for awhile!).  I started by selecting a piece of blue card that I purchased, rather than a Foundations shade but I just really liked it. I embossed it with the Treasure Box embossing folder for texture.  I cut the Radiance Striplet in milk card and backed it with the same milk colour for a tone on tone look.  I cut the striplet down the centre and glued them to the right and left edges of the embossed card.  I wrapped a piece of cream organza ribbon with a satin edge across the centre of the card and added a double bow on the left side.  I cut the Brussels die in milk and added it to the centre of the card.  I stamped my sentiment and covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I made a frame out of the blue card using the smaller die from the Bruges die and attached over the sentiment.  I sprinkled Diamond Snow across the exposed sticky sheet once the frame was added.  I seated it in the centre of the card.  I accented the side bow with a satin flower and made two matching stick pins.  The card was completed with milk mats and a thin blue mat that coordinated with the background.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8" in size.  Please leave a comment to be included in the drawing to win this one.  I will be at Ally Pally demonstrating all weekend so the winner will be announced on Monday's blog post this week instead of Saturday!  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, wow what a wonderful give away card, love it especially the bows, you are the queen of them.

Taken quite a bit of time to go through yesterdays blog to catch up on everything, I hope I have not forgotten anyone.

Maureen - so pleased about your cataract, I know exactly what you mean about seeing again, just wait until you have the other one done as well, you will be a new woman.

Laine hope Princess Pixie arrived safely, a mammoth journey for her - she should have travelled in the golden coach.......if did she?? - I bet you have been chatting none stop since she arrived.

Tina - Mick - hope the infection has cleared up a bit.

Elaine - any news when you phoned the hospital about Andrew's treatment plan

Tina - Peter - can you chase up the treatment plan as Elaine is doing

Pat L - sorry belated birthday wishes

Tracy hope your sprained ankle is a bit easier and your are enjoying Ireland - wonderful place

Tracy fingers crossed that the mammogram results come back good.

Had a really good time at the Twin Research yesterday, had so many tests done but they said there was nothing that was worrying them, I will get the results in about 10 days. Also they took a little bit of fatty tissue (I asked them to take more as I have so much but alas no!!) away which they will compare with the results of the same test 7 years ago, got 3 stitches in my tummy but not painful at all, got to make sure I keep it clean and covered for 10 days. Got home and was knackered, I could never live in London again, it has so changed.

Anyway best get on and eat my breakfast, got craft club this morning so looking forward to that.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Pam - Twin Research is based in St. Thomas's hospital in London, they are always asking for more twins to volunteer to participate in research, any twins will do as long as they are over 18, over the years they have found out so much genetically, been on telly programmes (not me)- They are always so friendly and grateful for our help, met up with 2 other sets of twins during our lunch break (they proved this) and it was interesting to compare notes of what Jean and I have experienced over the years, much of which of which has happened to them too. - Thing like swapping over name wrist bands when we were at school so that the teachers didn't know which was which, so funny looking back on that.

Yesterday amongst other things they took 6 hair follicles from our head, put patches on our forehead for 30 minutes and then took them off, this will then be tested for the bacteria on our skin, blood tests, hearing, balance, eyesight, computer tests to check peripheral vision - things like this, they were not painful as such, a bit uncomfortable for me as I suffer with arthritis but nothing I could not bear and I could have stopped at any time - it is well worth going if you are a twin as they also pick things up that you are not aware of - my thyroid problem was picked up as an example.

Anyway hope this helps. hugs xxx

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Morning Sue. WOWZER, that was one momma of a storm last night, even kept taking the electricity !! Never mind, as long as it doesn't happen again on Sunday to interfere with your live show from AP I'll be happy.
Oh Sue, some of my New Additions arrived yesterday and they are so cute, I've not cut any yet as yesterday was quite busy, and as our post doesn't get delivered as early as it use to, there is no telling when it can turn up ! We had the 4th week of doggy play group and the last unfortunately, it wasn't a place that made our rescue happy poor lass. All we hoped for was that she would be relaxed enough to play with all the toys and make new friends and realise that an hour away from Andy wasn't going to harm her, but it wasn't to be so why subject an already 'anxious' clingy dog to something that she gets no fun or benefit from ? So we need to think again how we can help her troubled mind. Anyway I'm rambling about something that has nothing to do with craft, or today's beautiful card so I'll STOP right now (wasn't that a line in a song) ? Lol. I'm hoping the last of my baby dies arrive today as I've still some time to prepare some cards and other nice projects ready for market, and I cant out into words how pretty they are, in fact I'm sitting here smiling even at the thought of what I hope to achieve with them - all I can wish for is that I do them justice after all the work that you lovingly put into them.
I hope JULIE JAZ was able to read my replies to her question as to where she can order the new collection, although I know there have been sell outs, you can leave your email address JULIE to be notified when the stock has come back in.

It will be a lucky lass who receives today's work of art and joins the Wednesday card Winners club - we never see a guy joining the club and I know for sure there are a few that pop in but for some reason never leave a comment on Wednesday ! Come on fellas don't be bashful we won't bite lol.
Have a wonderful day Sue, busy I'm sure, but always enjoyable for you. Take this hug to help you enjoy what's planned ☺ xxx

Tracy, sending hugs and positive vibes for a good result from the mammogram. X

June, I think it's great that you take part in twin research. So much has been learned from twins over the years, both medically and psychologically that can benefit everyone. So thank you. Great that they can pick up things which have immediate benefit to you too, such as your thyroid problem. I have twin cousins, non identical boy and girl. My mother was a twin, but unfortunately her twin was not born alive. Often wonder how different her life would have been if no. I did think and hope that maybe me and hubby would be blessed with twins, but sadly it was not to be.

Morning Sue. WOW What an amazing card to give away. Love everything about it the colours, layout, stickpins, flower and of course the beautiful big bow its awhile since we saw one of your big bows on a card and they do look gorgeous. The person who wins this beauty will treasure it for ever. Some of my baby dies arrived yesterday and oh they look so cute, didnt have time to have a play with them as the house is a right mess as we are in the middle of decorating, putting new carpets down and have new doors put on so crafting will have to wait for a couple of more days. Hoping the rest of the dies turn up today. Would love to go to Ally Pally but living in the North East its to far for me to go and i would have to travel in my wheelchair which makes it such along day but hopefully i will get to see you some where when you come further up this way Sue. Hope everyone has a great time when they meet up at Ally Pally. Have a great day Sue.

I have recently moved house, downsized quite a bit, so now I only have a craft cupboard and not a whole room anymore. (I had to move for medical reasons to be all on one level.) And somewhere between destinations I seem to of lost my mojo. Just can't find it anywhere. But seeing your beautiful cards is a true joy everyday. I will be getting some of your new collection dies soon (when cash flow improves), so I am hoping to find my headspace again soon.
Thanks for all the lovely inspiration, and I hope you have a fun weekend al Alley Palley.
Take care Sue.

Apologies for my absence yesterday. I had planned to comment yesterday evening. A bit of a spanner was thrown into the works by a delay of departure for Laine's flight. It was supposed to take off from Edinburgh at 2.30 and land at Gatwick at 4. My day was planned around this but unfortunately her plane did not land until 5.19pm. I had checked the details before leaving for Gatwick to avoid George and I hanging around for ages.
Once the flight showed as landed we waited patiently, and we waited, and we waited. Of course who Was the last person to come through to the arrivals hall where we were waiting? You guessed it - yes, she arrived thinking she was a Superstar on one of those annoying glorified trolleys designed for those perople who think they are above the rest of us!! Lol. Even with my royal status I don't expect special treatment. Lol x
Laine was delighted that George had decided to be her topless chauffeur but did manage to keep her hands to herself! To rub salt in the wound, the poor unfortunate soul who had the task of transporting Laine to arrivals then had to go and collect her case (bigger than anyone else's)! Off he went only to discover that the carousel was broken which made our delay getting home even longer!
Never mind, we eventually got through the door in one piece at about 7.20 I think. I was a little cross with Laine because I did give her fair warning when we approached our road and very politely requested that she 'duck' down so no one saw her but she refused! Thank goodness there was nobody about so she wasn't spotted! Lol x
We have not done much at all as we are feeling quite tired so chilling is the orderr of the day. She's in the garden and I am indoors - too hot for me x
When Laine phoned her mum last night her mum wasted no time with a plan to marry Laine off to one of my boys! Thankfully the prospect of having me as a mother in law has put her right off!
So folks I need you to be patient with me whilst I get back up to speed with your news!
I hope you are all enjoying your Wednesday. I am sending lots of love and big hugs to everyone especially anyone who is feeling under the weather x
Take care
Crafty hugs

Hi Sue. Today's card is so beautiful !!! I love everything about it !!! The shade of blue card you have used is lovely. I really like it. Your Brussels and Bruges dies look fab together. Really pretty and Lacey looking Sue. Your Radiance Striplet is very pretty to. It is on my long wish list !!! A great idea to cut it down the centre and use it for borders. Such a simple idea, but I would never have thought of doing it !!! It does look fab though. I do love the background embossing folder you have used on this card, and you have added a lovely big bow !!! I have missed your big bows on cards lately. A perfect finishing touch. Thank you for another fab card. Sending lots of love to you Sue from Tres x x x
