Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  A pretty aqua and white card is up on offer for today's card giveaway.  I started by cutting the decorative die from the Auckland  die set in the upper portion of the card.  I backed it with aqua card then used the smaller inner cutting edge to cut an aperture.  Next I used the cutting edge from the New Zealand Noble border to cut the lower portion of the card, giving it an interesting shape for my channel.  I added mounting cushion to both pieces.  I used the Dot Matrix Pinpoint Embossing Folder to create some texture for my channel area.  Next I used the smaller decorative die from the Auckland and cut into a piece of aqua card, then mounted it behind my aperture.  I stamped a sentiment from the Delightful Sentiments clear stamp set and glued it into place in the aperture opening.  I mounted both pieces with a split between them to create the channel and the embossed piece glued into that opening area.  I made a flower from the Sweetheart flowers using aqua card as the base with a white edge, then mounted it on some thin satin ribbon, white tulle and Lace Edged Leaves as accents.  I completed the card with a paper pierced white mat (using my piercing ruler), a thin aqua mat and a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  Please leave a comment if you would like to be entered into the drawing to win this one!  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post so be sure to check back then.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, wow I like today's card, especially the way you have created the illusion by separating a gap in between the die cuts, reminds me of a river........silly things I think of.

Pam, yes had a good result yesterday, one of the area's has healed up and I don't need any dressings on it, the honey must have helped with this. However the middle area is still not right, so I have a different dressing and more honey on this one, have to go back next week and have appointment for the week after as well, but progress has been made which I am very pleased about.

NannaTina I am sure that somehow you can get a wheelchair, try the red cross as Pam says, they might be able to help, and I am sure it would do Mick good to get out.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Good morning Sue and crafters everywhere,
Thank you Sue for another stunning card made with the New Zealand collection, these dies are so versatile along with sweetheart flowers.
I use colour cloud when matting and layering as white card is more often easier to get hold of than the coloured.
Love and crafty hugs to all,

Hi Sue
What a stunning card for the giveaway, love the aqua colour, I am now the proud owner of the Nobel squares both sets and the rose background so just need some 'me' time to play.
The wheel chair needs to be one that reclines and able to fit a 6'4" man with leg rests as he has no control of his limbs as we have a normal basic chair but he can't use it.
Thank you all again for all your messages they mean do much to me
Happy crafting
Love and huge hugs to everyone

Oh this is such a pretty combination both in colour scheme and in design. The aqua against the white card looks so pretty it is my favourite at the moment that i go to. The lacy leaves are just beautiful and just perfect for that finishing off piece that you need. Thank you Sue for putting up such a beautiful card and to the lucky winner, enjoy.
Well we have a bit like Brig a doon here today and it's not warm nor dry either so that's sunbathing out the window, aye as if, the sun would be frightened never to return if i did that. So running after son today as back at college, so its the traipsing back and forward on todays cards.
Laine, HAPPY BIRTHDAY flower, i hope that you have a lovely day today.
Nanna Tina, i would have thought that a rehab centre would have had wheelchairs of all sorts to accommodate their guests/patients/clients, after all you're not wanting to keep it, just take Mick out a walk to let him feel the sun and air on his face again. Sending you both hugs flower x
June i am so glad to read that you have managed to get one part healed on your leg, now for the rest to follow suit. x
Well i will leave you all and take Rory to college so have a lovely day and Frances enjoy your new member to your feline family, i think lol.

Good afternoon lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

You have come up trumps with today's giveaway Sue, it's absolutely gorgeous! I love a good old channel card and you never cease to amaze me with your own personal twists to this design, the pinpoint EF peeking out is just stunning and the colour palette is very fresh and Springlike. I love the New Zealand collection, particularly the Auckland die which is utilised to perfection here, creating a lovely focal point for the sentiment. The embellishments are lush, enough said! I don't know if you have realised yet Sue, but it is my birthday today and nothing short of winning your gorgeous card will help to salve the pain I feel at turning 44.....sshh! Don't tell anyone!......I do hope that you feel suitably moved by my dreadful plight and find it in your oh so kind and generous heart to gift me the most exquisite card I could EVER hope to recieve......just a thought I'd like to put out there:-)
My birthday began by being rather rudely awakened by my mum at 7.30am to say that she was on her way to her hospital appointment. She is seeing an orthopaedic surgeon about having a hip replacement and had to travel to Clydebank through Glasgow for 9 am....rather her than me!
I went back to sleep deciding to have a lie in before my glittery bath bomb experience.....boy, that glitter makes a right mess of your bath! Had to spend a good ten minutes scrubbing it clean again but it did shimmer on my skin quite beautifully afterwards:-)
Amongst my cards was a parcel from Yvonne, the little sweetie, she hadn't been well enough to make a card but she had sent me the heart spray die as a gift which was a lovely surprise. Having a quiet day, it's predictably raining for the first day in ages....Sod's law I guess...but there are promises of a heatwave on it's way over the next couple of months so here's hoping it travel north for a change:-)
Many thanks for the kind birthday wishes I really appreciate them.
June, good news let's hope the rest of the wound follows suit!
Nana Tina, as the other ladies have said, I think there should be someone willing to provide a suitable wheelchair for Mick because getting some fresh air is so good for his physical and mental well being.xxx
Annie P, happy anniversary!
Deb C, lovely to see you back with us sweetiexxx
Beth and Wheely bad, hope you are both okay, take carexxx
Norah, how is Tia recovering, has her appetite came back?xxx
Huge hugs to Yvonne, Rebecca, jan, P, Pat, Pam, Lorraine , Linda, Lynda, Tracy, Maria, Theresa and anyone suffering or just in need of a little squeezexxxx

Afternoon, Sue, G'Day Everyone,
What a pretty card today. The colours are so restful and I love the leaves - another die to add to my wish list lol.
What fun I'm having...the painting in the kitchen is finished and the new vinyl flooring has arrived. Now, it's not getting laid until my sis comes to visit next month (it was so much easier when she was in Newquay and only about 12 miles away), so I'm having to store it until then...it's 3m long!! The delivery man was really nice and brought it right into the front room for me but it couldn't stay there. I'm just so glad no-one was filming me trying to get it into the bedroom out of the way lol. At least there will be two of us trying to get it out again :)
Happy Wednesday - what's left of ot - everyone.

Hello Sue
I love your sweetheart flower it's now at the top of my list. I do hope I can find it at the NEC in July. Then the quandary, which of your dies to go for they are all so beautiful I keep changing my mind. I had better keep saving.

I really love this color. Reminds me of our ocean outside. This is a really pretty card. I'm getting better at attempting your ways, but have a long way to go. Keep the tutorials coming. Don't leave out details as we tend to miss the little things. Thank you. If you are planning a trip to these parts, remember to let me know. I'd still love to meet you. I don't know if you get back here since your mom passed, but don't forget us. Myra from Florida

Hello Sue and all
Sooo late today, the internet has just come up again after nearly 21 hours down due to a major outage in quite a large area NSW north of Sydney. Very worried about not commenting on the beautiful WWCG.
Aqua and white and such a lovely use of Auckland and sweethearts, they are made for each other.
Now I can read all the comments and do todays blog
hugs

Another beautiful card, love watching them being demonstrated on Create and Craft. New to die cutting, well got the machine just need dies. Can anyone recommend which of the current dies, would be a good starting point. Ones that u can do strips, corners or create a whole frame?
