Hi crafters! This is my "Ode To John Lockwood" card! LOL John just loves his ginger card and I hardly ever use it, but one day I was watching him on Hochanda and he used it. I thought how pretty it looked so I grabbed a piece and this is what I made! I started with a piece of coconut white card and cut the decorative die from the Wellington once in the centre of the card. I placed it in a diamond sort of orientation. Next I used the same die on both ginger card and on black card, but I just lightly embossed the design into both pieces. I hand cut out the four corners on the black piece, then glued it to the back of the white cut out piece. Then I glued the Ginger piece behind it so the remainder of the design showed through out of that colour. I cut four of the Australian corners in black and matted each of them with Ginger card. I added mounting foam and placed them in the corners. I stamped a sentiment from the Fabulous Sentiments clear stamp set by Cr. Exp. and cut the inside of the Melbourne die out of black card and created a frame to go over it. I matted the frame with Ginger card and added mounting foam to raise it over the sentiment. I added it to the centre of the card. The card was easily finished with a white pierced mat, a ginger and black mat and a final white layer. The finished dimensions are 8" x 8" in size. All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue. I can see why John is addicted to ginger card, it really makes this card zing and pop, an ideal 'male colour' and will go beautifully with all the 'sooting' natural colours, yep, one for my collection of Foundation card, along with the Wellington die. Each time I see it used either by yourself or John or by the most talented ladies on fb I need it more and more, I think this lovely die belongs on my own personal list rather than Andy's 'what a girl wants' list lol.
What a wonderful week you have given us with some truely beautiful and inspirational samples, thank you Sue. Hope you have a lovely day xx
Hi Sue,
I thought I'd gone to the wrong website this morning and got John instead of you. I usually look at yours and then John's. Very different for you but a great masculine card. I don't use ginger very often but I'm not sure why. It looks great.

A lovely card, the colour combination would be great for male card designs.x
Morning Sue, thank you for the introduction to 'ginger' card. Have never seen that colour because I usually choose black and white card for men's cards so this will make a change. Lovely card. Hugs xxx Pauline A
Actually got some ginger card which may get an outing now, Sue, never the first colour to get picked! Some clever paper placement going on here, always inspiration to be had.
Dreamt last night that I had hundreds of sets of your dies (in reality only a dozen or so) but all of them had a piece missing and was in a frantic state. There's some sort of Freudian message here lol?!
Lynda - do hope you're quite better soon.

Hi Sue
What a great card, perfect for a man. The ginger colour looks fabulous with the black and white, must have a look for it ( although I keep telling myself not to buy card as I've got enough to cover the whole of the U.K. I'm sure! ). I had to really think what you meant about cutting the corners out by hand and then the penny dropped and it all made sense!! I do love this die, it's on the birthday list!! Thank you for sharing.
Love Diane G xx
Gorgeous card. I'm not too sure about the ginger colour also but then again the card you use is up to yourself as you are making it. But it is very striking.

Love the central part of this card, Sue. Not sure about the corners though. I must try this colour combination as it looks great.

Good Morning Sue on yet another dull sunny morning. Fabulous use of those two colours and the ginger is definitely a male colour so I suppose its not one we would be drawn to, but your card looks stunning. hugs Shirleyxxxxx
A very striking card indeed. Must admit to rather liking this ginger colour and would buy some if it were part of a mixed colour pack as, as others have mentioned above, it would be ideal for a man's card. Like the prominence of corner dies again today.
Tereea
Fabulous card and colour Sue, love the wellington die
Good Morning Sue Lovely card I like the ginger card I bought some earlier in the year & have used it a few times mostly for male cards I think I'll have to buy the Wellington die

Hi Sue, I remember you showing this on TV and agree with everyone else that it would be a great card for a man but I love the ginger card and certainly would not restrict its use to just men!

What a coincidence! My ginger card arrived yesterday so todays Blog is a great starting point to introducing it into my projects....A lovely card.
Hi Sue. Lovely card, love the colour combination. xx
Hi Sue, I think this is a great masculine card. Lovely, Ivy C x
This colour combo would be perfect for a man.xx
Great colour combination and a lovely card.
Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!
Admittedly, I wasn't so sure about the shade of ginger on this card but the more I looked at it the more it grew on me. This was mainly because I love the composition of the card, the corners are lovely and very striking, but the star of the show is the Wellington die with the partially black and partially ginger cut out area. The purity of the coconut white card is in stark contrast with the black and ginger accents. A lovely homage to a fellow crafter Sue:-)
I've had a manic couple of days with hair, nail and doctors appointments so I'm now hoping to have a quieter weekend to finish....okay, start!...a few birthday cards. Weather permitting of course....reports suggest that Mediterranean temperatures are spreading across the south so I am hoping that they extend northwards so that I can get a little colour onto my anaemically transparent skin:-)
Just to let you all know, I've spoken to Yvonne and she informs me that she is experiencing a family crisis at the minute that has knocked her for six physically, but she wants to send her love to everyone and assurances that she will be back as soon as she feels stronger.
