Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi crafters!  Today's card giveaway showcases the letterpress technique.  I started with a piece of coconut white card and then inked my Rose Blooms embossing folder with Peach Bellini pigment ink and ran it through with my white card inside.  The ink transfers to the floor of the design, leaving the embossed raised areas showing through as white.  I matted it with thin black and peach mats.  Next I cut the Lauren die twice out of coconut white card.  I backed one with peach card, then cut the centre of it out with the smaller oval die in the set.  I cut a back baking piece to use as a shadow for it too.  I cut it in half then hand trimmed the inside area out of the black piece and mounted it behind as a shadow.  I glued the other Lauren die cut across the back horizontally.  I stamped a sentiment and cut it out with the small die in the Australian tag set, then seated it on the tag cut out of peach card and backed in white.  I added a black shadow die to this as well.  I completed the card with a white bow, some black twine, two stick pins and a crystal sparkler.   I added two small black Dazzlers in the opposite corner and finished with my usual mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7 1/2" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like to be entered into the drawing to win this one!  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue. Summer was lovely while it lasted and didn't manage to get out for any sunny leisure time due to stupid health reasons but I'm hopeful it will return during our 'summer months' !! 😊 in the meantime we can enjoy the beautiful summer filled cards you show us, and the lovely peach you have used to letterpress this card is full of sunshine. I've started to forget which collection of dies belong to the newest set, and if the Lauren die is one of the newest, then I'm a proud owner and just love her although apart from one card that was ordered which I had to force myself to do, I've really not felt up to crafting at all, but a new week and fresh inspiration from our dearest friend is all I need at the moment to keep a smile on my face, and with all the lovely up and coming craft shows, what else could I ask for, I'm really looking forward to watching/recording Johns shows to see his take on your new die collection.
That's all from me, so I will wish you a good productive, enjoyable day, and send love n hugs to you and my special friends both here and on fb xxx

JUNE HORROCKS... to get that beautiful stepped frame work as Sue has shown here you also need SET B as it's the slight difference in measurements between the two sets that give that lovely bordered frame effect. If you already have SET B then I can try to help via email. I was helped so much by the ladies on fb and I can't believe how easy it is once you've got the idea in your head, but as I'm not great on written instruction I was shown via a photo and it bought it home.
If you have SET B either get to the fb page or maybe John has a you tube tutorial on how to use them but I'm happy to help if needed... I was really flummoxed at first believe me so if I can get the hang of framing anyone can xx

Hi Sue
Beautiful card and I love the letterpressing with the peach Bellini ink matches the peach card perfectly. Had a delivery of your vintage silver card and some texture paste yesterday so today I intend to make some backgrounds using the wavy mask

Thank you to everyone for your good wishes for my granddaughter Sarah, unfortunately the operation didn't go ahead as there were no intensive care beds available and so they were sent home yesterday afternoon with the hope of the operation being rescheduled for the end of June. After waiting a year and a half for the surgery it was a bit of a blow that it didn't go ahead but I suppose they couldn't take the risk without the back up of intensive care.

Hugs and best wishes everyone

I've decided I'm going to laze around for the rest of the day, so I may even get as far as the craft room. I've spent the morning washing down the kitchen walls with sugar soap ready for me to attack with the paint roller. A one point - Pam, you will love this - I was standing on the counter top rather than get out the large multi-function ladder and I realised that I was gong to have to find a way to get back down again lol...note to self...get the big ladder ready lol.

Sorry I haven't visited, between the usual rubbish etc I've just had to get things done. Average about half hour a day so slow going. Did have a good day Saturday when I saw my Nanna and Billy got lovely cuddles. Mr W then took me to get train ticket for my stop over in London next month with my best friend. They booked all the assistance I could possibly need. We then went to a nearby retail park so I could buy some bits we needed for the kitchen, some bits for his furryness and I got new rubber stamps so I was happy. Desperate to use them but been doing paperwork when with it so it must wait. Fading again so must go, so aware I haven't been here but will try to be back very soon.

Biggest crafty hugs to everyone... And very best wishes to you all,

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew,

The weekly giveaway card is always guaranteed to be a showstopper and today is no exception. The colour palette is scrumptious, peach Bellini , mmm, good enough to eat:-)....or drink! The letterpress technique is something that I haven't yet tried, I should but find the idea abit daunting for some odd reason...scared I'll make a mess I think! It works beautifully here with the gorgeous roses EF, the pinpoint effect really stands out. The Lauren die is stunning and makes the perfect focal point and any card that features the stick pins, ribbon and sparklers are a winner in my book. It's my birthday next week and it would make a lovely birthday card from my most favourite lady.....just saying!
Another beautiful day here on Stirling, it's amazing just how much better you can feel within yourself when you are gifted with abit of sunshine. I'm no longer milk bottle white and scary to small children, I am now a very Scottish shade of dark pinkish red, a healthy glow in this neck of the woods....we don't develop tans as such in Scotland, not enough consecutive days of sunshine for that, we just have varying shades of pink to violent red depending on how sensible you've been with the factor 30 sun cream.....my Dad and grandparents, being typically Scottish in colouring, once used cooking oil as a tanning agent!??!, the results were predictable and necessitated in a visit to A&E.
Tracy, luckily my hospital appointment was cancelled at the last minute so I was saved my blushes and shame for having not used any sun cream.....in my defence, I bought some yesterday for the first time in decades and it has definitely helped....I did notice that they don't have factors 2 or 4 anymore, how times have changed. You must be getting super excited about your trip now, hope the weather continues to be kind for youxxxx
Norah, how is Tia recovering after her operation? I'm sure she'll be back to her old self soon, our furry four paws are very resilient. Thinking of youxxx
Pat, how utterly frustrating for you all, just when you have mentally geared yourself up for the operation, it's cancelled:-( it's important that things are perfect for Sarah to ensure her rapid recovery though, hopefully she's not too disappointed. Best wishesxxxx
Wheely bad, lovely to hear from you, glad to hear that you are reasonably well. Your trip to London sounds exciting, I've always wanted to visit the capital, hope you enjoy....have you any special plans?
Thinking of absent friends, Yvonne , Beth, Linda, Rebecca, Theresa, and melody
Hugs to Maria, Alison, Tracy, Lorraine , Jan, pat ,P, Pam and anyone else in need of a cuddlexxx

Hi Sue. Sorry I have not commented for a few days but I have been unwell. I really love this card !!! I have the Lauren die and have been making Wedding stationary with it !!! It looks so gorgeous with its beautiful heart design. I have not used it longways yet !!! Another option to try. I love the look of your new Roses pinpoint EF. It is stunning Sue. I just wish you had made this exact same embossing folder in A4 size !!! I know some people like to make the smaller cards but an A4 size means it can fit 8x8 size right up to an A4 size card and can still be cut down for smaller cards. A small embossing folder cannot be made bigger unless you are clever at extending the pattern . It is to much for my simple brain to handle !!! You have made a beautiful background with the letterpress technique Sue. I love your bow, embellishments and beautiful stick pins !!! Thank you for sharing your stunning card today Sue. Sending lots of love and hugs to you Sue love from

What a pretty card! I don't letterpress very often as I don't think about it. I'll have to start again. This card in my linen card holder would be a great reminder. LOL, if only I would be so lucky.
