Caring thoughts

Hi crafters!  Another Configurations sort of card for today, I just love playing with these dies!  I cut four of the Lattice Arched Adornment out of coconut white card to begin.  I glue them into the corners of another piece of coconut white card to create the background for my card.  Next I cut a piece of Cobalt blue card and added the Dainty Lace Edger in white around the edge.  I used four corners and four centre pieces for this.  I raised the blue piece with mounting foam then added it in a diamond orientation to the background.  Next I cut the Classic Adorned Noble die centre die in white and backed it in white, glued them together then cut it into a frame,  I stamped my sentiment then glittered it.  I  mounted the frame over it with foam (and glue on the foam) and trimmed away the excess card around the edges.  I cut several of the smallest Perfect Peonies in cobalt blue and added them around the sentiment as accents.  I completed the card with white and blue mats and my usual piercing.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.

I have had a good chuckle at all the guesses that were made about how many cards I made last year.  It seems most of you think that I am quite a machine, making thousands of cards!  Let me tell you, if I had made that many cards, you would be getting double (or even triple) days every single day of the year!! LOL  Unfortunately it isn't anywhere near that many.  I aim for three cards a day minimum, but you have to take away all the days that I am either filming all day, doing shows, away on holiday, doing Ally Pally, sick or just have personal plans or appointments for the day among other things.  I did the most cards during August (125), followed by May(115) and Nov,(108)  each over 100 cards so I easily did my minimum cards each day during those months.  I did the least amount in Sept with a real low of  only 7 as I was packing for and away at Ally Pally, filming videos, and doing shows and on flights filling most of the month.  The total number of cards that I made during 2015 is 657.  The closest guess was from Karen Drew at 650!  Very well done!  I will try to get that number up into the thousands for 2016! LOL

The winner of the 2015 Orphan cards is:

Denise T!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your cards.  Thanks for giving them a good home!  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, another gorgeous card today. Oh I missed out on guessing the number of cards you make in a year, 651 is still an amazing task especially with all the other things that you do. Congratulations to Denise for guessing the nearest number and to Karen for the orphan cards, you are so lucky to get these.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxxx

Morning Sue,
Wow I love this card, I must admit I wasn't sure of the configuration dies at first but having seen what you and John has made with them made me buy some and I have made so many cards using them.
Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
No crafting today I'm back to babysitting my baby Grandaughter today. I have 2 days off from babysitting Wednesday and Thursday so that's my crafting days this week.

Hi Sue
Good work ! 650 is some going. I have to work hard around christmas with so many birthdays and christmas cards and also I have to make for my mum as she will not send bought ones so double trouble for me. Nothing like 650 a year though! Well done you!
I enjoy card making very much because of your posts and John and Sue too - it's a nice way to wake up in the morning to see your creations.
Love this one today as i also like playing with the configurations. They make such nice backgrounds.

Beautiful card today, Sue, don't have any of the Configurations dies but feeling the need, they seem so versatile - in your hands!
Oh lordy so many of us think you're superhuman, I thought maybe 5 a day (well that's what we're supposed to achieve!) plus for this and minus for that - and tried to triple your output. As we see one a day and twofers and double days and special multis - plus all the other samples on the shows - perhaps then we've mostly seen them all? Whatever, it's a remarkable number and Karen must have insider knowledge!!
Well done to Denise on winning the orphan cards.
Tracy - you okay? Sending hugs.

Afternoon Sue
This is an early comment for me - explanation to follow.
Beautiful card and the colours are stunning. I do have a couple of the dies mentioned so will be adding this to my Sue to do folder and hopefully it will not stay in that folder too long and be moved to my Sue done folder!
My peace and quiet will cease in about 30 minutes. I have to say after all the activity and stream of visitors and wild partying of the festive season I thoroughly enjoyed gathering my thoughts. Also Barbara Gray was on Hochanda and I do enjoy watching her craft. She is vey clever and the cards that she manages to produce are very clever.
DON'T WORRY SUE - YOU ARE STILL MY FAVOURITE!!!
So why am I commenting much earlier than usual? Jake texted me from work and said he would do a deal with me. This did make me slightly suspicious and as I gingerly enquired as to what the 'deal' involved I anticipated a reply which meant that the arrangement would be far more advantageous to my son. I was wrong. He said that if I could tidy the kitchen (at which point my heart sank), he would treat George and me to dinner. Well - how could I refuse. Yes the kitchen was in need of some serious attention but once finished it would remain spic and span as I would not have to cook. So we are off out to dinner - don't know where and don't care. The fairies don't mind waving their cleaning wand when there is something in it for them - lol x
DENISE - you lucky thing - not just one Sue masterpiece - a whole collection x

Wow, what a lot of cards! I vary depending on what my sales inventory needs for the year. This year will be quite a lot as my daughter is getting married and I am doing the invites, thank you cards, shower cards, favors for both, and reception place cards. All by June 4th! So probably close to 350 cards plus all the rest. Using several of your dies for all of these.

I love the ways you use the configurations, so I think I must get some more of those. Since I do smaller cards than you (I'm in the USA) those plus the tags and borders are something that really fit with my style. But I do love some of the bigger ones as well.

Hugs to you!

Hi Sue, a beautiful card and I really love the cobalt blue and white.

I'm glad we gave you a laugh with our guesses, we know you are superwoman in disguise so you don't have to prove it by making even more this year! Well Done Karen Drew, that was a great guess.

Denise T - Congratulations on being chosen to adopt the orphan cards, I'm glad you are taking your responsibilities seriously and intend to look after them properly :-)

Tracy - chin up, you know you CAN do this!

Hi Sue

Fab card today love the use of the darker blue. Denise T is a lucky lady to foster all the orphan cards and congrats to Karen what a brilliant guess. I was one of those that think you are a card machine, did take into account 3 a day, but didn't consider your other commitments!!!!

Another beautiful card today and I thought it was going to be so fiddly but you make it sound so
much easier.
I love the cobalt blue on this one.
Wow can't believe you manage to make that many cards but I was way out with over two thousand lol.

Tressa said...

A great colour combination makes this a beautiful card..

Only 657 cards last year Sue! I know my guess was way over the top, but only 657. And there we were, assuming that you did nothing but craft for 23 1/2 hours a day to satisfy the demands of your public. Workers are forever being told to improve their productivity so is a target of 725 a reasonable demand for this coming year??

Thanks for all the work you do,

Teresa

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Ahh, back to reality again and a normal week, and what better way to mark the occasion than a beautiful sample of your genius Sue!
This little beauty is simply breathtaking, the configuration collection is an absolute essential in our crafting arsenal...admittedly I didn't see their full potential in the beginning but I have been a grateful convert of late and try to squeeze one in where I can. Love the colour choice too, cobalt blue is my favourite shade of blue, it's so bold and striking. Great start to the year my dear!
Thankyou for the concerned well wishes due to my absence however, I don't deserve them, I'm well and truly on the naughty step because I could and should have commented yesterday but I let a rather unfortunate incident with my brother and a migraine get in the way.
Whilst the former was in no way influenced by myself...just for a change...the latter, some may speculate, was merely an extended symptom of my Hogmany excesses, surely not though!
Whilst I would actively defend my position, my brother was the main culprit in his own folly- he and his partner were invited to dinner and my mum toiled away to make it perfect for them only for my brother to discover that he had left his needle for his insulin at home! Instead of having his dinner and then returning home for his injection he decided to go into a huff blaming his girlfriend for not putting the needle in her handbag?!?!i was reminded as to why I remain single...with cats....he flounced off home leaving my Mum with the uneaten meal and a sink full of dishes without so much as a goodbye. As you may have deduced, I am the mature, rational, level headed one in the family whereas my brother is clearly a work in progress!
I'm glad you have finally put Yvonne out of her misery Sue by telling us how many cards you managed to create last year. I'm feeling rather smug because I had reckoned that you would produce around three a day minus all the days for filming and die designing, coming up with a grand total of 670, so not too far off the mark. It did make me chuckle at the thought of you producing nearly 3500 though, whilst you are clearly super human that would be a feat hard to emulate even for you:-)
Yvonne, tempting though it may have been to abandon all thoughts of housework today, it will surely be worth getting out the Fairy liquid and dish towel in exchange for a slap up meal courtesy of Jake- he has restored my faith in men with his thoughtful actions, I am surprised that a young lady hAsnt snapped him up already, particularly if he has his mothers good looks....could it be that either nobody can match up to his glorious mother, or does she frighten every girl with a pulse under 30 from venturing within 10ft of him?I guess we will never know:-)enjoy your meal honeyxxx
Tracy, I really admire your fighting spirit, the big c doesn't stand a chance with you on its case! You're bound to have days when the mountain seems insurmountable but we know that you have the right attitude to succeed, try not to stress too much about weight, it's only a number and doesn't define who you are. Huge hugs my dearxxxx
Hugs to Beth, Linda, Theresa, Wheely bad, jan, Rebecca, Saba, Maria, Melody and all my blog buddiesxxx

Good evening, nearly missed commenting even though I visited much earlier on.
Sue, thanks for putting us ot of our misery. I only guessed as high as 750 because of the mega high other guesses. I should have listened to myself.
Today's card is fantastic, I love the adornment dies and blue is always a hit with me :)
My daughter took me to see the new Star Wars film today as she was desperate to see it. I have never been into the Star Wars franchise even though I love space and fantasy type films. This one though was very y good.
I had to have a nap this afternoon to make up for my exertion. Just trying to watch Silent Witness without dozing off again but it's a struggle.
I am hoping to have a clear table by Wednesday so I can start crafting again, I have missed it.
Wishing good things to all xxx

Hi Sue

First off I really enjoyed your TV demos though I did have to record most of it and watch it across Sunday & today. My want list is longer, oh so much longer!

I think you made todays card just for me! Blue and white plus Configurations, a perfect marriage!

Don't think I was too far off with 2 to 3 cards x 365 days... shame I didn't give you any holidays, how mean of me lol. 650 something is darn good though, don't think I've done half that even if you put them all together over 6 and a bit years! Well done Karen for guessing right.

Well done to yesterday's winners too xxx

Hugs and hope for all those in Scotland, the north of England and Wales who are affected by flooding or the aftermath xxx

Tracy, you're doing damn well hun, I wish so much they didn't but tough days are going to happen sadly. As for weight please don't worry too much, that can be seen to when you're well and it might be part of the chemo. Just worry about getting well and eating as regularly as possible, your body needs the energy. Sending you a big warm hug and a blanket to snuggle under when you feel tired xxx

Melody, sending hugs to all the family xxx

Yvonne G you brought those boys up well, nice to know there are still gentlemen in the world! Hugs xxx

Laine, You deserved a night of revelling, no question. Hope you're getting over getting out for the night xxx

Theresa W, Maria & Lynda I'm doing ok, the usual ups and downs lol. Thank you for thinking of me xxx

Bedtime now, sending hugs to you all, plenty extra if they're needed xxx

Hi, Sue I watched / recorded most of your shows on Hochanda. It's great to see your fab demos :-)
I didn't include my guess for the number of cards made when I commented, but I guessed over at around 765.
I came by this figure as follows;
1 card blogged daily = 365
Die launches approx 100 at a time = 300
Christmas Double Days approx 100 = 765 in total, oh well......
657 is still very impressive compared to my 22 ?

Today's card is very ornate looking. I've yet to try out my configuration dies.
Once I get the Christmas decorations and wrapping paper packed back into the corner of the front bedroom,
(my little craft room ) I can reclaim my crafting space !!

Congratulations Denise

Best Wishes and Happy New Year to you all,

Angela in soggy, S. Wales Xx

Hi Sue
Wow that is an incredible amount of cards to make in one year.
I was way out with my guess - I didn't do the maths.
On a good day I can make maybe 3 in one day but mostly struggle to make one due to just not
knowing what design I want. Love your card today, my favourite colour so pretty. x
