Good Sunday morning all! I embossed a piece of coconut white card with the Quilted Circles Pinpoint embossing folder. Next I covered a piece of acetate with a sticky adhesive sheet. I peeled the backing paper off and coated it with Mulled Wine gilding flakes. I used a rubit scrubit pad to refine the flakes and remove the excess. I cut a frame using the Ornate Pierced Noble Rectangles using both black card and vintage gold card to create a thinner edge for the frame. I seated the frame over the gilded background and trimmed away the excess around the underneath of the frame. I made a flower out of the Perfect Peony, sugared it with Iced Snow then seated it on white tulle. I added accents cut from the Splendid Swirls and the Faux Quilled leaves. I topped it off with two matching stick pins. I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Pierced flag die set and tucked the end under the floral element. I completed the card by adding my matching mats and layers and then using white PVA glue to add a frame of dots around the edge. The finished dimensions are 7" x 9" in size.

Lovely card love the colour of the gilding flakes
Hi Sue. I know that I'm going to be in the minority today but this card just doesn't "sing" to me, but life would be boring if we all liked the same things. I've never thought of putting gilding flakes on acetate though so that's another technique to go on the "must try" list. Missing you on the Hochanda weekend takeover. Hugs to all. Sue XXX
Hi Sue
I have just sent for more guilding flakes so will play when they come.
Got no heating today - aghhhh! the boiler won't light and at least 2" of snow.

Sunday Smiles to you Sue.
Well at least I'm trying, so hard to do under the circumstances. It's taken my enthusiasm along with my heart.
Very rich looking card today although I'd love to see it in more delicate colour's I have to admit.
Are you going to showcase any Valentine samples anytime soon as it may help get the mojo up again ready for market if I decide to do it, Andy says I should but it's next Sunday and too close to our journey down to Bham !
We'll see.

Love gliding flakes I must remember to use them more often. I do think the black frame is a bit too big so it overpowers but in real life that may not be the case. Good to see stick pins again :)
Thanks for the friend request Yvonne and now I can see what you mean about your handsome boys.
Laine, you area much tougher person than I. There is no way I could manage to shower every day. I admire your fortitude my dear in the face of so many things your health issues throw at you.
Well I didn't get round to crafting yesterday but did end up going through boxes of craft stuff making lists at 1 o'clock in the morning. I had loads of ideas watching Hochanda before that but struggling to recall them now. I want to do a colour cloud background with a four striplet frame though as that's a fab look.
Guess I had better clean myself up and get on with something. Hubby is watching tv in bed so not an energetic household today.
Wishing good things to all xxx
Hi Sue, a lovely card. The gilding flakes on acetate is different and I must try it. Gorgeous flower spray. Congratulations to the lucky winners.
A beautiful card I love everything about it.
I think that the gilding flacks in the middle look awesome!
sharon :)
Another beautiful card. The background is nice. I have close to 25 cards I need to finish and your inspiration is most helpful....it's difficult to keep my brain from going into neutral when I have so many cards to make. LOL Thank you so much. Jan D., Florida, USA
Hi Sue
Lovely card, I like the background too. I have gilding flakes, and I never know when to use them, you have given me inspiration to use them more often now.
Congratulations to the winners.
Love n hugs from Dorothy of Baldock
Hi Sue, I love the embossing folder and flower arrangement but although I also love gilding flakes I'm afraid this card isn't for me. Not sure if it is the large black frame but it just hasn't clicked with me. So sorry.
Congratulations to the comment game winners, enjoy your prizes.
The snow stopped last night and although the main roads are clear today there is still an awful lot of the white stuff lying around. At least we have heating, Anne M I feel for you!
Frances
Hmmm, splitting opinions on this one today :) I'm with the group that's not too sure about it, think perhaps there's too much contrast between the black and the white, it may have suited a cream, or darker, base card better. Still, you can't please all of the people all of the time :D
Joining the group that is not sure on this one it is a little dark for me but love the idea of the gilding flakes on the acetate must give it a try.
Hi Sue,
Love this card, the black sets off the gilding perfectly. The corsage is equisite, as usual. All in all, a stunningly elegant card.
Hugs, Rose
Hi SUE! This is striking in details, layers and florals. So beautiful with that gorgeous gilded background. WOW! I must remember to use those more. :) This black/white/cream/golds is a color combo is quite classy. One of my faves to combine.
A stunning card, Sue.

Hi Sue,

Well, Sue, I'm loving it! Will definitely try a 'take' on this one, have most of the ingredients except the EF, peony and flags but can compromise. Great to see the FQ leaves again - another favourite.
Couldn't get yesterday's video to play ah well.
Janet - ecco - good to see you back - what news?? Still scoffing your Friday pastries?
Norah - last two comments really had me laughing. Take it you're not now going to live in your Mother's house as planned?

lush, opulent card. those gilding flakes are awesome, hugs xx
Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!
What a striking card to end the week with- I have to say that I don't agree with the critisism of the black frame, I love using black as a feature in my cards because it makes a bold statement...the only difference I would make to this delightful card is to replace the coconut white card with cream, just a personal preference of mine. I will definitely be recreating this card, I adore the gilding flakes technique on the acetate and how lovely to see our perennial favourites, the stick pins and accenting 3D rose- they really finish off a card most beautifully.
Well, the snow is staying the course but it didn't stop my Mum, brother and niece travelling to Glasgow for the day, I meanwhile opted to have a lie in and a quiet day in the warmth of my toasty lounge:-)snow is lovely to look at but me and excessive cold don't make happy bedfellows! After a bit of housework...it's Sunday, and I felt an obligation...I decided to try and have a little read of a novel I just purchased- I used to be a voracious reader but ever since my head injury I struggle to concentrate and retain information so I don't tend to read anything longer than a newspaper article nowadays. However, I was given this book about angels and I find the subject just fascinating so I thought there's no harm in giving it a go. If you read it with an open mind it can be a rather uplifting topic and so far so good, the brain is like any muscle, it needs excercise or it becomes atrophied ...and I need all the help I can get in that department:-)
Maria, Darcey and Brodie are still keeping me on my toes- Brodie is like an excited toddler when it snows, he is fascinated by it and frolicks quite happily until the cold gets the better of him, he would appreciate a little furry body warmer to keep out the chills I think...and a pair of sheepskin booties:-)
Lorraine, I appreciate the compliment but I don't deserve your admiration, we all do the absolute best that we can under the circumstances, incl. you, and as such I don't think that I do anything that you wouldn't in my position but thanks anyway, you are so kind.
Tracy, thinking of you this week as you reach the closing stages of your treatment, you're doing wonderfully honey, hope the side effects are to a mini mumxxxx
Hugs to Yvonne, Beth, Rebecca, jan, Saba, Theresa, Linda, melody and Molly , hope you are all well. Hugs to all my other Wilsonette buddies tooxxxx

Tried using gilding wax for the first time in December last year and have to say think the result is so effective. It makes cards look so rich and opulent and this creation is no exception. I thing with different embellishments it would make a striking mans card x
Roast beef family dinner followed by apple crumble and cream. George back from Somerset just in time for dinner so we all managed to sit down together (quite rare). Mother in law, sister in law and nephew here as well. Really lovely but feeling like I am ready for bed so after commenting that is where I will be heading x

NORAH - I love Nanny Mcphee x
LINDA - I told you they were handsome!! That picture was taken more than 5 years ago. even more handsome now. I will be checking your pics out in due time - like I said I am nosey x
'P' IN WALES - wow 103 is a marvellous age. 450 miles is an awfully long way in one day but got to be done for someone of that age x
ANNE - you poor thing. Why do boilers always decide to conk out in the Winter?
LORRAINE - glad you agree with me about my gorgeous boys x
MARIA - hope you have had a lovely Sunday as well x
LAINE - I thought I was being picky but it appears that you shared my thoughts on the selection of dies. I as trying to be upbeat in my comment yesterday and disguise my disappointment by congratulating myself on not making a purchase. I was also beginning to doubt my powers of imagination when I was trying desperately hard to see flowers instead of snowflakes. No matter how much effort it was just not happening. Still watched most of it and picked up some handy hints.
Did you see when Charlie managed to smudge the pattern on the MDF? If you saw it you will know what I am talking about - is it wrong to say that I found it quite funny?
I don't post very much on facebook these days but use it to satisfy my overwhelming desire to see who is doing what, when. Are your e mail details which are connected to your facebook details correct? If not update them so I can abuse you in a private message - lol.
Know what you mean about lack of concentration. My avid reading days are no more since being diagnosed with CFS. It is so frustrating - nothing better than a good book to lose yourself in x
Bedtime now so nite all.
