Some great ideas here for which many thanks. The use of vellum to reduce the intensity of the baby pink card is a good one, I must cut a piece and see which other colours can be suitably muted in the same way.

Hi Sue
Love it love it LOVE IT. Have seen this card before - could be wrong but possibly on you tube. Gorgeous creation and another on my 'Sue cards to definitely without question copy list'!! Of course all of your cards are worthy of being copied but there are an elite few that are absolute dead certs of my imitating them at some point x
ALWAYS LEARNING - congratulations on your win x
LINDA - what a good idea being friends on facebook. Got to be honest I do not use fb very often but find it incredibly useful to message folks. I have friends who let everyone know when they are having a cup of tea or even when they have been to the loo but not me. Can't remember the last time I actually posted anything on there but the nosey side of me likes to keep up with what others are up to x
LORRAINE - isn't it annoying when you get tired just having a shower - tempting to stay smelly x
LAINE - hot and sophisticated??? HMMM - questionable x
WHEELY BAD - the aftermath this time was sooo worth it on this occasion x
Feeling a little smug as I have had quite a productive morning. Have managed to watch about 99% of the Creative Expressions event and although I have seen many bargains have managed to sit on my hands and not order anything. Money is very tight at the moment and if I am completely honest I do not need to buy anything else (ever again) to add to my bulging crafty stash/collection. I also managed to make a curry as have some friends coming over this evening. I was a little concerned that having to be culinary expert extraordinaire was going to interfere with my compulsory viewing on Hochanda but had a brainwave and set up my lap top in the kitchen. This allowed my viewing to be uninterrupted. Ok so 1 curry in any ordinary persons agenda hardly registers on the productivity scale but let me tell you in my book - I feel like I have climbed a mountain. I am at the moment flitting between Hochanda and writing my comment whilst sitting in my pj's.
Curry in slow cooker so only thing that is a necessity b4 my guests arrive is a bath. I am just trying to figure out if it really is a good idea to take the laptop into the bathroom with me whilst having a dip. The crafting genius in me is convinced that this is a perfectly normal act. The sensible (parent) side of me is reminding myself that I would go bananas if the boys decided the laptop needed to accompany them into the bathroom. I will ponder over this predicament for a little longer x
Apologies (again) but I am going to have to split my comment as I know I am going to hit my limit x

Princess Pixie! said...

Ok so or all those who enjoyed Chapter 1 here is number 2, lol x
As I mentioned, I had started to feel a little brighter by Thursday evening but did not get that much sleep as George had his driving lesson at 8.10 on Friday morning. He was alot more nervous than I thought he would be and I could hear him pacing for most of the night.
His instructor picked him up at 7am for a lesson before his test. Although I was really tired but not so fatigued I felt it my motherly duty to make the effort to make my way downstairs in order to greet my youngest to Congratulate him (fingers crossed) or to console. I can do both.
Imagine my surprise when I heard his key in the front door at 8.30. I immediately thought of the worst case scenario and presumed that he must have done something terribly wrong to be home so early. I am pleased to say that he had not crashed the car with the examiner in it but 2 examiners had not turned up and his test was cancelled. He was not a happy bunny. In fact he was really upset which in turn got me quite stressed so not being completely over my body on strike session it pushed me right back over the edge into the valley of weariness and exhaustion.
So unfair but there is nothing George can do apart from claim back the money for the lesson prior to his test. He now has to wait for a new test date but there is a very long wait time here in Croydon. Fingers crossed he will be able to get a cancellation. Looking on the bright side, Croydon's drivers will remain safe for a little longer.
He has gone away for the weekend to Somerset with some friends and will more than likely getting very familiar with whichever alcohol happens to be the cheapest.
So there you have it - the events which lead to my unavoidable languishing.
I still feel that on this occasion it was a worthwhile and enjoyable situation which caused my body to go on strike. So I will be taking it easy for the foreseeable and easing my way slowly into normal every day life and things which are so much more mundane than talking the night away with good friends.
As far as the trip to Australia is concerned - it sounds awful so will probably not be going any day soon. I mean who in their right mind would want to go and stay for as long as they want in such inferior accommodation - who needs a pool, jacuzzi, outside gym, not to mention wall to wall sunshine?!!!!!! Sounds like hell x
Ok lovely people - back to viewing Creative Expressions with no distractions.
Lots of love
Crafty hugs

I have been watching lots of Hochanda and last night I was checking the prices elsewhere and they are doing good. Good evening to the lovely Sue and the Wilsonettes,
It is because of this card that i have wanted the Heraldic square for so long Sue as it is beautiful and i have made 3 cards since receiving it last week as i was just dying to try it out. This card is stunning and i might just have to do a similar one for my collection as i do like it very much. The colours are just so lovely and delicate and with the vellum on the top it just softens it's appearance that bit more. When O.H. is out visiting his father tomorrow i might just have to have a play again with it while he is out as we are trying to sort out his/Kirstens room from all the sheets, curtains, bedding, tableclothes and other things that i brought up from Mum's. He wants his wardrobe through out of Rory's room and into his so that is another upheaval to be done and then he is bringing some of the bags and boxes along from the garage to be sorted out which i am definitely not looking forward to as there is just so much but i know it has to be done.
Well we have had lovely snow landing here in Clackmannanshire today which looks lovely as long as you are now driving in it. It's amazing the amount of people that don't change their dangerous driving habits even when the weather gets bad so i think i will stay indoors where i am nice and warm and my feet don't decided to go in opposite directions which happens normally without the added advantage of snow and ice, lol. O.H has informed me concerning my new look of being Nanny McPhee that i need to get it changed as it is not a very endearing look and with the new lisp as i try to keep hold of this little plate into the bargain he is having a hard job looking at me straight. I have found that i can whistle though which is an added bonus as i have never been able to do that before so hey i save on the expense of a whistle, although it might not be the most perfect one that i have heard but hey it's still a bonus.
To Always Learning a big congratulations flower i hope that you get a lot of enjoyment and encouragement from your Wednesday Card.
Sending hugs to all my Wilsonette friends that need, could do with or just want one
love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil Village)

Good evening lovely Sue and the fabulous Wilsonettes!

I'm experiencing a bit of de ja vu, I'm sure I've seen this card before but not sure when or where...maybe I just watched the video and my demented brain is having trouble recalling the details:-) Nevermind, I really enjoyed watching it again since you can always pick up something useful from your demos. This is a card that I would definitely consider replicating...if only I had the dies that is! I love the background technique of using the vellum to create a subtler effect, I was going to do a similar look on one of my Christmas cards but never actually got round to it so this would be an ideal opportunity to give it a go...just need to win the lottery tonight to fund my prospective purchase:-)
Well it's been another lovely day here in Stirling, not the blue skies of yesterday just a steady stream of snow instead- lovely from the comfort and warmth of your sofa, watching is so relaxing and peaceful...don't you just hate it when inconsiderate people and their cars come along and waste the perfect white blanket though!
Brodie awoke from his morning slumber to a winter wonderland and his little eyes were agog with wonderment- he was desperate to get outside and experience the suspicious white particles falling from the sky so my Mum put on her wellies and puffa coat so that he could satisfy his curiosity. I half expected him to put one paw in it and scurry back home but he surprisingly loved it! He frolicked like a lamb only coming home when he got too cold, he ran around the house like an excited toddler before asking to go back out again to which we relented...I wish they did little body warmers for cats and tiny booties to match then he wouldn't feel the cold so much:-)
I stayed in my pjs..silk of course!..today ready to enjoy the CE extravaganza but I was a teeny bit disappointed with the die choice- John did his best to convince us that snowflakes would be appropriate for a birthday in June but I was unconvinced. It would have been nice to get some of the more recent regular dies not just festive but in saying that the other products were reasonably priced if you are a club member. I miss Sues demonstrations though and can't wait for her next visit in Feb. I can't wait to have a splurge when the time comes:-)
Yvonne, I share your pain at being perpetually skint just now, at least we can enjoy the demos and dream of our future purchases. I'm a bit behind the times will facebook and have never public ally posted anything...I guess my daily life and pictures of my meals aren't inspiring enough for general consumption:-) you can't deny that it's a great way to keep in touch with friends though. Poor George, he must be so disappointed, but as you so wisely said, the streets are a safer place for a little while longer:-) I can't drive, due to my epilepsy, and I would love that freedom- the fastest I go is 8 mph on a mobility scooter, you can cause a lot of damage even at that speed...just ask the pensioner and her Wheely bin that I knocked over by accident!
Lorraine, going smelly is not an option:-) I know how it feels to have chronic fatigue but I always pushed myself to have a daily bath and wash my hair, it made me feel like I was in control not my body and even if I had to go back to bed afterwards I felt a sense of achievement. Seriously though, you push your body as far a you are comfortable, there are worse things than going without a shower....not sure your loved ones would agree though:-) hope you feel better todayxx
Huge hugs to anyone suffering or in pain especially Wheely bad, Linda, melody, Tracy and Saba. Hugs to Theresa, Maria, Rebecca, deb c and the sadly missed Beth, hope you are all wellxxxx

Very pretty card, Sue, will watch video and read comments tomorrow.
Been out since 7 a.m. round trip of 450 miles to see my 103 year old aunt (last minute decision as it was promised to be a lovely day for once, and who wants to travel that far in the rain?)
Still have to do the furry ones feeding round, then bed beckons as foolishly set the alarm for 4.30 instead of 5.30 so pretty much pooped! So have also missed all of the shows will try tomorrow.
