Izzy's Butterfly

Hello bloggers! Before getting to the cards for today, I just wanted to say a great big thank you for all your support and wonderful emails on the POTD shows earlier this week.  I knew that I was going to feel pretty shattered on Thursday morning so I had pre-scheduled yesterday's post before the shows.  Feeling somewhat more human today, so I really wanted to take a quick moment to acknowledge how much I appreciate your response to my die shows.  Although I have truly enjoyed all the designing process for them, I am always a bit on edge doing the shows because it is so personal to me.   I did have to laugh though as I was packing up after the shows were over,  I was shocked to count how many samples there were!  136 of mine, 15 beautiful samples from Debbie Stevens and I had 4 of Julia Watts stunning weaving cards!  John told me that he had brought 68 samples with him!  I would love to know how many of them were actually shown over the ten hours, but I bet you will spot some cards on the blog that you never had a chance to see on the
 shows! LOL
Now on to the card(s)!   I can't believe that I have forgotten to post Izzy's butterfly idea from the Orion die!  I even have two cards to show today to make up for my blunder!  The first card is the demo card that I did in Feb.  I started with a piece of coconut white card where I had cut the bottom using the cutting edge from the Orion die.  I embossed it with the Bed Of Roses embossing folder for texture.  I cut the Orion die in Blush card using both cutting edges and glued it to the bottom of the embossed panel.  I added a piece of blush card that I sugared with Diamond Sprinkles so it was just peeking out from beneath.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the New York Collection tag and inked it with Spun Sugar before removing it from the die.  I made the butterfly by cutting up two of the Orion dies.  Rather than trying to explain how I cut it, Izzy kindly made me a sort of template showing how it was cut and I have included it below.  It is so much easier to follow that way!  My antennae are a bit different, but it just shows you more options.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 3/4" in size.

The second card is pretty self explanatory, using the same embossing folder.  I added a few small butterflies from the Magical Butterfly die set.  The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x  9" in size.  All in all, a really fun way to have a play with your dies to see what else you can create, don't you think?  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue from a very misty dull morning her in Burgundy.
How to finish off a fantastic week for everyone giving us two for the price of one. Both gifts beautiful and outstanding.

I hope that you may have a reasonable week-end to relax or is that an impossible ask?

Well it's our last Friday here for a while and so it has to be actions stations for the next two days.

To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

GM Sue. Love both cards and Izzy's butterfly. Lovely. I see John posted the card I spied and mentioned on your blog yday. Not sure if that was pure coincidence or you had a word maybe? The latter I suspect. But either way thank you both. I am going to have a go at that when the dies arrive. Glad to hear you have recovered. This virus thing is getting there slowly and if its what you had also I don't know how you do it!! Happy Friday!

Good morning Sue and everyone

What a lovely post. Because you always look so professional and calm on TV it's easy to think that nothing would bother you. The fact that you may get a little nervous about the actual shows is very endearing.

However, you have such a huge following of genuine fans who appreciate your talent and your kindness and generosity that you can certainly count on our support for future shows.

Two beautiful cards today. Thank you, and thanks to Izzy again for the butterfly instructions.

You must have been truly exhausted after all those demos Sue! You were a joy to watch though. These butterfly cards are lovely. What a good idea. We should all do as many things as we can with the dies in order that we get real value for the money that we invest in collecting them. Before I bought a die cutting machine I thought it would be an extravagance as a die would only be a kind of "one off" use. Since watching you I know different! Thanks for all the great ideas. x

Karenlotty - noooo!...you can't possibly live without the Orion set!!....lol

Ladies - I hope my "how-to-cut" template is useful to you...as you can see from the pics of the template and Sue's cards there are at least two versions of the butterfly - and maybe even more...and that central section of the lower black diecut sample looks so like a lacy ladybird if you imagine a red body underneath it...worth a try anyway...

Hi Sue

From bags to butterflies, Izzy, you are so clever! Sue, Hope you recovered from a crazy 24 hrs.

I seriously need the Caribbean dies now! They were just stunning! I can't seen to always get a clear idea of what a die looks like in 2 colours, I see to need to see the shapes cut! I had to buy kitchen stuff so I was limited this time around but I'm not disappointed as the dies I brought arrived today and they are stunning. Sadly I'm shattered and very sore as had to go out to see the practice nurse yesterday (hence no comment). I'm dozing off trying to do this so I'll go now. Still no heating but too shattered to chase up.

Extra special happy hugs to all, extra in reserve if anyone needs more x

Afternoon Sue. Phone kept crashing, just how you feel huh ? Or are you still buzzing lol. When you feel uneasy about showing new dies, just remember just how many of your family are supporting you throughout your show's. We will allow you a few nerves,of course you are, after all they are your babies, but after seeing so many pictures of cards emailed it should prove to you just how many of us adore your die collections both the older sets and the newer collections. We will always be by your side.
Two beautiful cards today plus an Izzy tut, wow what a lovely end to our week. Like Heather T I could spend all day going through and stoking your samples, just like Ive stroked my card from your show last week, its perfection personified Sue, all so.straight and even (considering you dont measure your card your eyes must be spot on lol although we know you struggle with the monitors lol !!!
Well our Izzy is so clever, I remeber catching flies when you first showed us her bags and butterflies, wow. Ive also recorded all the show's you did and keep going back to Deborahs cards too, totally stunning.
Well, in for wintery showers the weekend here in Lancs so if you are off for a birthday party please enjoy your time dare I mention rest ?
I shall send my love and hugs to all, and a big hug to you Sue to say "well done and dont be nervous anymore"

Another idea. After leaving my comment, I went back to "train my eyes" and saw a lady bug in the center piece left from the butterfly cut from the Orion die. How about that, nothing goes to waste!

Beautiful cards both of them. But the colours on the second are so striking and has to be my fav. Love the die and the butterfly.

Hi Sue

Again some beautiful cards today. Quite glad you forgot Izzy's butterfly card because we get to see two cards!

Going to have a go at cutting into my dies and see if I can get something as great as you have produced.

Keep up your fantastic blog.

PS loved the POTD shows!

Good Morning, Your cards are beautiful . . . especially, the big butterfly on this one. May I ask how did you create the wonderful antennae? I noticed that you have them in white and on another card in black. It's a great finishing touch that I'd like to learn. Thanks for sharing your wonderful cards and have a great day.
Blessings,
Cyntia

Hi Sue,
Wow, isn't Izzy a clever girl! The cards are absolutely lovely. The white one is my favourite but both are beautiful! Thanks so much for including the diagram showing how to cut out the butterfly! I have pinned it! I did that just after lunch and meant to post after that but got distracted! Already my Pin has been Pinned by three others! That's how we spread the word that you are the best! Izzy well done!
My diagonal Die arrived today! Lovely!
Heather know exactly what you mean - I'd love to do that too.
Alison - sorry about your Auntie will keep you and Auntie in my thoughts and prayers.
Have a good weekend everyone,

Sue, two fabulous cards today, very clever to cut the butterfly from the die ( thank you Izzy, for the template ). Have now watched all the shows from C&C and not only have square eyes, but the minds gone completely, first I decide on one selection then I see more samples and change my mind! again and again! then to top it off an E Mail with a sneak peak at your new collection, now there's no chance of me being able to make a decision until they are released. Will be working forever, lol, to fund my habit! Hugs to all, Linda.

Oh My, I love that Butterfly! I have quite a few butterfly dies, but really can you ever have too many...The contrast between the roses embossing on the white and the coral color is nice to see together too. Gorgeous cards.

Hi Sue. WOW !! Not one but two beautiful cards today !! I love the Butterfly that Izzy made with the Orion Dies. It is very pretty and delicate. Such a lovely shape to it as well. So beautiful !! Well I really love both of the cards but I think my favourite one would be the second one but with a more Pastel colour combo instead of the bright colour card. I love everything about both cards and using the Orion as a border on the first card really gives it a great finishing touch. The swirly pearls look fab on the second card and your beautiful little butterflies provide the perfect finishing touch. Thanks to you Sue, and Izzy to for two beautiful butterfly cards.
Sending you lots of love from Tres x x x

Thank you so much for including this card Sue. I saw you do it on C&C and recorded it for future reference ... Unfortunately I deleted it by mistake, and was so disappointed because I had the dies but couldn't remember how it was made, so am delighted you have put it on your blog. Many thanks to Izzy also for the original idea.. xx

I am such a big fan of all your dies. I do wish there was somewhere to buy them here in Canada. And the tips and tricks have been a great influence on how I make my cards. And as per usual what stunning cards.
