A daily papercrafting blog which features my handmade cards showcasing Creative Expression's products including my own line of cutting dies and embossing folders, Cosmic Shimmer, Ranger, Spellbinders and more which use various techniques and ideas to hopefully inspire the creativity in you.
Good Sunday morning all! Happy Easter too! I made this card a few years ago and forgot that I had it and hadn't posted it until now. Since it is Easter, I thought I should give it a day on the blog this year! I really like the fact that it is cute, but not over the top at all, very earthy in fact. I used the Honeycomb embossing folder on some kraft card to give texture to my background. Next I added a strip of decorative paper from my stash and added a couple of Becca Feekens Heirloom Flourish one die edges to the bottom before tying a piece of natural jute around it. I stamped my sentiment in blue and cut it by hand into a tag shape and added it to the jute bow. I added some free hand stitching around the edge with a blue ink pen. For the focal element, I cut two sizes of GoldLabels Four and inked them with Antique Linen while still in the die. I stamped the Justrite Easter bunny from the Welcome Spring stamp set in Cobalt blue archival ink and cut it out with the matching Nested Cloud die. I stamped the bunny in brown and hand cut it and layered it up with foam in the centre for dimensions. I used a wash of distress ink to paint the bunny and ribbon border. I finished with a double milk mat with a pierced inner layer. The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8" in size.
