You Made My Day

Hello to all!  I had a little play with some of the new release dies for today's offering!  I selected a piece of decorative paper from my stash for the background.  I covered it with a piece of sticky adhesive paper and then coated it with micro beads (yes, it has been awhile and I was going through withdrawals!)  I cut two of the New York borders out of milk coloured card and glued them to the top and bottom edges of the background.  I added some 3mm and 5mm cream pearls to the edges of the borders too.  For my focal element, I cut the Copenhagen and the Stockholm dies in milk card.  I layered them up but I cut the Copenhagen in half and moved the pieces outward a bit.  I stamped my sentiment in Blue-Violet Achival ink and cut it out with the inside dies in the Copenhagen set, but using the cutting edge from the Stockholm set.  I added a mat layer from the Stockholm set as well.  I tied a messy bow out of mauve seam binding and attached it with glue dots.  I made a flower out of the Camellia open petal die set and added it over the knot in my bow.  Two matching stick pins were made and added (they look blue in the pic, but they were purplish to match.)  I finished the card with a double milk mat with an inner mat that was wider.  I used the Cosmic Shimmer Ivory PVA glue on that layer to make dots to frame the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  9" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue, Another week begins for us all, but who could have Monday morning blue's when we have such a pretty card to greet us ?
The background paper is lovely, I love the way it show's your new dies. Who would have thought a piece of metal could be turned into something so stunning. I maybe repeating myself, but when these dies are cut they are gorgeous but when embossed too, their magnificence shines through, although I have a set or two waiting for me at our shop, Im going to find it SO difficult to prioratise which set to put on the top of my list for my birthday and Christmas, I think I need a square.set but which one ? I need a nice big frame.
To you Sue and all Wilsonettes, I hope you had a lovely weekend.

Good morning Sue
What a beautiful elegant card, the balance and colour coordination shows what a really talented artist you are. It's the little things, like the inking up on the matting layer behind your sentiment, which make your cards stand out from the rest.
The dies don't do them any harm either !!!
Love it, thank you for your inspiration.

morning Sue - yes it's Monday morning and dark and damp again but I couldn't have anything better than to have one of your beautiful pieces of art to cheer me up.
I love your format for today and your dies are just spectacular. I would though have liked a little less busy background but will be having a play. So thank you for starting my day off beautifully.

I have a really lovely day with my eldest Daughter out in Derbyshire yesterday. Her latest lodger is coming along nicely -he's a Tawny Owl who for some reason decided to fall down a gentleman's chimney. When she got him he couldn't bend his feet/claws and therefore was not able to perch etc and definitely couldn't catch his prey. He now has full movement in one claw and she is working (physio)on his other. He can fly but if his left foot doesn't respond to full strength he will have to go to a sanctuary as he will not be able to feed etc. All her other lodgers are OK. Mr Rook is more than ready to go but will not do so (he knows where he is well off). All her little pigs(Hedgehogs) are fast asleep so at the moment she has time for other things.

Julie Laz - I have a friend who has cut one sample of each of the dies she has. She then mounts each one in a file/folder in plastic sheets and writes their names on the page. She then has this diary of all her dies and just goes through that before starting to create a card. Hope this might do the trick for you.

Norah - I missed you yesterday. Hope all is well.

Have three bday cards to creat and two of them for those pesky males who are so difficult. So will have to get a move on today.

To all under the weather for whatever reason hoping you feel better soon. To all please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Good morning Sue & Friends!
Wow where did this year go?!!!
Sue you have had an amazingly successful year, with both your Exceptional quality die range and the amazing stamp range too, I have to say, over this past few years I have tried quite a lot of the die ranges out there and my totally honest, unbiased opinion is that yours are THE BEST, for quality, they cut superbly every time, they have a versatility that no other die range has, you have thought of every single detail like the extra die in a set that is fractionally bigger , so that we have a perfect Matt, no other die range has thought of that, you should get first prize every single time in the awards you have been nominated in, hands down, no other designer, range comes anywhere near you!
I cannot wait to see what 2015 brings, I can think of a few things that I think would be so useful, but I am pretty sure that if I have thought about it then you have too! There will be a huge number of our blog family opening gifts from your range this Christmas Sue, I hope the next launch won't be too long after the Holidays xxxx
Janet your daughter is amazingly kind, caring, brave and patient, to do what she does with wildlife, it must be so rewarding when you get to the point of releasing them back into the wild. Like you I love today's card but I don't have the background paper, but you could use a piece of matching lilac card and emboss it, it then looks like a pattern paper! Good luck with you baby cards, I do have one on my blog, way back! I would love to see your designs, enjoy your day xxxx
Barbiepinkfairy, I hope you get to relax and recover from you hectic shift, crafting is a great therapy session. Xxxxx
Anyway I must get my aching bones moving, I have a visit from my mother and father in law today, unfortunately Paul is having to go to Boscombe Down, so I must try and entertain alone! (Frustratingly I am expecting a package from JS today and I will just want to sit and play) :( !

Hi Sue,
What a stunning card you have made for us today . It is really lovely. You are really helping me to use up papers and patterned card which have been lying around for ages! Thank you for that - made some pretty Victorian style baubles out of some old Anna Griffin paper I had which I then put a solid colour outline round. Now I'll use the micro bead idea - although have used iced snow on some. Thanks so much for all the wonderful inspiration. X

Alson - meant to leave a comment about the owl yesterday. How lovely that your daughter has been able to save this beautiful creature. Great news too about the hedgehogs. Ours - well you know what I mean - has grown and put the security lights on the other night! Always good to know he/she is alive and well.
Barbiepinkfairy - what a shift - and you've had a few lately. Enjoy your day's crafting . Where the NHS would be without dedicated frontline Staff I don't know.
Take care!
Sandra - totally agree with you on the Die Front! - proof for me is that I use hardly any others apart from Sue's now!
Missed you yesterday, Norah x
Cheryl hope you are bearing up x

Seeing your beautiful cards is making me pine for my Grand Calibur. I'm having a real panic at the moment, as my Grand Calibur has broken and gone off to be fixed or replaced (still under warranty). I was told it could take around 2 weeks and I haven't finished making my Christmas cards yet. :-(
