Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Morning bloggers!  This is one of my favourite Christmas cards made with my Festive die line.  It is just so simple and elegant.  I started with a piece of coconut white card and scored a double line around the edge.  Using the Justrite Large Elegant Christmas sentiment set, I stamped my greeting in the upper corner using a Clear Perfect Medium pad, then heat embossed it with Gold detail powder.  I cut two of each of the Mosaic Poinsettia in different sizes out of coconut white card.  I went around the edges with the Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue and then coated it with Iced Snow and set it aside to dry.  Once dry, I assembled the two flowers for my card.  I used a white crystal sparkler in the centres topped with a flatback white pearl glued to the middle of them.  I cut several of the Holly Spray die and added them around my flowers as accents.  The card was completed with a white pierced mat layer, a thin vintage gold card mat then a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8 3/4" in size.  If you would like to be included in the drawing to win this card, please leave me a comment on this post (directions are on the right hand side of the blog).  I will draw a name and announce it on Saturday's blog post!  All for now, Sue x

Love today's card Sue, anyone would love to receive this so very beautiful.
Sandra, glad Mum had a good time, her trip sounded lovely.
Steph, hope the injection didn't have the nasty effects of the last one and that you can feel some improvement.
Hope everyone has a good day, hugs all round.

Good morning Sue and all your loyal Wilsonettes,
I have never posted a comment on any blog in my life. I have been crafting for the past ten years or so. Your cards and talent are second none. I have watched all your videos many times. I draw inspiration from your work but mainly from your talent.
I've been going through a terrible time for the past five years, which is not about you end soon. Thanks to you and your loyal fans and not forgetting my beautiful dog, it is what helps to get through much of it.
it is a pleasure to read all the kind comments you all send one another. Not only about how talented you are but how you all support one another, it's truly amazing.
On a lighter note, I have the majority of your dies, unfortunately not the holly spray as yet. I will hope to buy it at some point. I would love to win your card, it would be the first time in my life that I have won anything.
I wish you and all the people who regularly blog a very good day and happy times and long may this blog continue.
Todays offering is as exceptional as ever, I too have a very similar tastes to you. Good luck to the happy winner. I look forward to being part of this community.
Many thanks to Sue and all on this blog. Xx

Exciting day today, as our Son is home from France for a few days, so catching up with him and his partner for lunch and they are staying overnight.they always have around an 1,100 mile drive back to the UK from the Jura Valley where they live.
I am hoping to get some time in my craft room after they have left tomorrow, so I am going to try and make this card, thank you Sue for all that you do. Looking forward to the shows tomorrow.

Good morning Sue & lovely blog friends,
Wow, today's card! What can I say.....I think this will be my chosen design for Christmas card this year, I love everything about it, down to the font of the justrite sentiment! Can't wait for your shows tomorrow Sue, I got a sneaky feeling it's going to be a busy day! Hugs xx
Andrea, welcome to the loveliest, friendliest, most welcoming Blog in existence, our motto should be " a problem shared is a problem halved!" It really is so comforting when one of the lovely ladies on this blog responds to a comment that you make, some of us are in situations like yourself, it doesn't matter wether you are in pain, unwell, grieving, lonely or just a little crazy (as most of us are a little bit) you are welcome here,!
Janet, how did yesterday go? Is it all systems go, shall it get my 'cozzy' out! I have everything crossed for you, so that you can shoot off to your lovely home in Burgundy, I reckon it sounds a perfect location for a Wilsonette weekend ! Haha, I couldn't imagine Mr E's face as we all arrived with Grand Calibur's in hand, it would probably be a bit like Pat's Pete, who had hoovered and tidied everywhere before we arrived, Pat's lovely home was spotless, then we all got our Calibur's out and our dies, after many ooo's and aaaah's we set to work cutting and sharing our dies, five hours later their dining room was a mess, you can imagine, all the waste from all of us (although I will add that Sue 'mrs B' had managed to contain most of her mess on the table) anyway, needless to say Pete came in and just stood there looking around, in shock! I think our combined beaming faces made it took a little of the shock away! We are going again today, so sorry in advance Pete, please don't Hoover before we arrive!
Norah, thanks so much for the little trip down memory lane! my Nana, had a huge washing machine that you lifted the top off and it had a big 'adgitator' thing in the middle, the best part though was the mangle on the back, I used to love watching her do that, poor Nan though one day (she was a large lady) got her boob caught in the mangle, I didn't witness it myself, but vividly remember m dad chuckling about it saying that maybe she should through them over shoulder to keep them out of harms way! Hangs x. Then there was wash day at home, like you said Norah, the washing was all piled up in dark & lights, we filled the machine I think it heated up, the water was extremely hot, I remember pulling it out of the wash part and into the spinner section, putting a little grey disc thing on top, it used to spin so fast,we would rinse it in the spinner with a hose, boy those whites used to be really white though! For making things super white I recall my mum buying this 'blue bag' thing, it seemed to work. I loved wash days at home. Today's machine don't get the same results I don't think,! Since Paul took over most of the housework jobs he has found his little ways and routines to manage all the chores, his laundry sorting always makes me smile, he doesn't have darks/lights and then mid colours (light blues, greys etc) he has.......... A red wash, blue wash, black, white, towel wash, my neighbour was always amazed by his colour themed washing! But credit where it is due, he has never damaged anything colour wise!
Steph, I hope your injection went smoothly and that you can maybe get some rest today!
Maureen, after my early start yesterday, I would have gladly crawled under that duvet with you to watch Sue's video! ( part two to follow)

Sandra said...

Luckily for me Paul was back last night , so I didn't even hear Milo this morning, first thing I was aware of was Paul bringing me tea and toast at seven, I am so lucky in some respects, my husband being the main one!
I must go now to pack for my day with the girls! Sorry for the major waffling, Norah you shouldn't have got me wandering down memory Lane, but thank you xxx
I would like to send a virtual hug to each and everyone of you, you are an amazing bunch xxxxx

Hi Sue
Another stunner today, and I actually have this set of stamps. Bought it while I was in Bournemouth a few months ago. I also love your mosaic poinsetta but might have do do with the other ones I have. I to used to watch my mother in law with her washing machine. And would you believe I actually had one when I was first married as that was all I could afford. Second hand of course.
Another session today with the girls. Pete sAys we aren't girls we are ladies, not to sure about that though with the way are conversations were going last week.

Janet - so please Mr E's INR was fine and you can get to France.

Andrea - Welcome to this amazing family.

Norah. - I love your childhood stories, keep them coming. The mangle one brought back memories to me. When are girls was small I took them a friend and her girls to a hotel that had an open-air swimming pool, but then the best thing was they had this mangle at the side of the pool for ringing up your towels They spent more time playing with the mangle than in the water!!!

Good morning Sue, and all the ladies.
I know that I'm repeating myself, but Sue this is absolutely gorgeous. Just up my street.
Sandra, It was probably a Reckitt's dolly blue you used in the laundry. I know I will seem terribly old but I used to help mum do the washing with the poss tub and she always used a dolly blue. There was a separate big mangle which was posh in that it had an enamel lid which was used when mum baked and made pastry on when not washing, and on washing day was raised to put the clothes through the mangle before hanging them out. It was some time in the 50's before mum got an electric washer and, because she was frightened of electricity, I did the washing for her. Dad bought her a huge Servis washer with wringer attached, and the old mangle was left in the kitchen to use as a bench.
Carpets were swept with a brush or taken out and put over the line to "thwack". No fitted carpets then, they were squares with lino around the sides of the room - ah the good old days!!!!
I laughed at your description of Pat's house after your crafting day!
Andrea, welcome to the blog.
Ecco Janet, enjoy France. Wrap up warm.
Love and hugs to all my friends xx

Hello Sue

I really love this card and white on white seems to be so on trend as it's still festive but not too OTT. I would of course love to receive your card should I be lucky enough, you never know one of these days!!

Good morning Sue and Wilsonette Angels,
Oh Sue, today's card looks so beautiful with the touch of gold and the beautiful crispness of the white. I love how you have made your beautiful poinsettia's and holly branches the main focus of the card and with just the plain white card back ground it doesn't have show up. So beautiful, but then i do love a SW white card as they are probably my all time favourites. Thank you Sue for another wonderful creation.
Pam, take it easy at work today, i know you are only there for 3 hours but you are still going to be shattered when you come home. Please break in gently back to full time.
Steph, i am hoping that you are back with us again after yesterdays ordeal. Hope that it wasn't as bad as the last time for you.
Janet, i have my fingers crossed for you and Mr E for today, hope everything goes right so that you can return to your other home. I promise i will try very hard not to have a conversation with the floor before you return Janet, but i can't speak for Diane, but she says she is going to try harder.
Good morning Andrea and welcome to the wonderful world of Sue Wilson and the Wilsonettes. I hope you will be really happy here with us as we are a very caring bunch and have the kindest set of friends you could ever wish to meet. You will notice that we are not bias or anything, but we all think the same about our lovely Sue's blog, it is the very best and contains the very best of people as well. I hope if we can do nothing else for you, we can lift your spirits each day.
Dawn, enjoy having your lovely son home for the short while with his partner. What a drive they have to get to see you, as it must wipe them out that journey. Are they over for long?
June, have a great time at your craft club this afternoon flower as it is so nice to see what others are making and the different styles that there is out there.
Alison, i went because i have bad circulation and my grandmother who was diabetic lost first her toes and then her feet to it, so when my doctor said they could do something and mum used to get so worried about the colour of my toes and feet, i thought i should go. I'll put it this way, a vet has more compassion on how they use a needle in an animal than that doctor had with me. I will stick with the blue/black toes before i will go back to that man again.
Welcome Petras to the wonderful world of Sue Wilson and becoming a Wilsonette. I am sorry i cannot read German, but we all welcome you to our world.
A warm welcome Pamela, i hope that you enjoy coming in to say hello and making friends with us all, as we have the loveliest people in the whole world in here.

Sandra, Paul and i work on the same system regarding colour scheming in the washing machine which is probably why i have so many piles. The rubber disc/ring that you put on top of the washing in the spinner was to stop any stray socks, knickers or that making a bid for freedom. I remember mum thinking just how wonderful it was to have a real washing machine. As you can imagine Jim was forever climbing and holing his trousers, shoes and generally getting manky. I could never keep to my feet and we always set out an hour earlier than needed as mum always had to take us back home to change as i had fallen over my big feet yet again or the wind got a hold of all three of us and lifted us off the ground and into.... well we lived on a farm, so need i say anything more about why we needed to get changed those times. Awh the fun of being young and your welcome Sandra because i know that it wasn't just in my dreams of the idyllic memories of yesteryear. Have a great day with Mrs B and Pat. I bet Pete’s face just dropped when he seen the mess that 3 innocent looking cherubs could make. I bet he doesn't do anything as rash as hoover again before you lot come. Have fun.
Well, i am going to fight with dst as it does not want to part from it's backing, so me and it are going to do battle today. It's not even the red liner dst, it's the stuff from Mei Flower, 30 rolls for £10, so if you here screaming it is probably me taking a temper tantrum at it.
Have a great day everyone with hugs to all my angels,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (glenochil)
