Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello crafters!  I know I am doing Christmas cards on Fridays, but I think I still have too many to share so I thought I would throw the odd one into the giveaway here and there.  Hope you don't mind!  While this one is probably one of the least traditional ones that I made in terms of colours, it is really pretty in my favourite teal paired with silver.  I started with the background and used the Elegant Poinsettia stamp to watermark the background.  I did this by stamping it all over using a Clear Perfect Medium pad.  While it is a sticky ink, it will dry if you heat set it.  Next I embossed a wide border of the vintage silver card using the Frosty Swirls embossing folder.  I matted it with a thin teal and thin white mat and adhered it to my background.  I cut the Filigree Poinsettia die in teal and coated the edges of the top two flowers with Dries clear glue then sprinkled them with Iced Snow.  I cut some of the larger sized flower from the set and made the flower look a bit more organic by cutting it up and using the petals around the glittered flower.  I stamped the sentiment and embossed it in silver on vellum and cut it into a strip.  I put a bit of wave into it (as I usually do) and had it coming from my flower across the embossed background.  I completed the card with a pierced white mat layer, then a thin silver mat and a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x 8 1/4" in size.

Just a quick little message, I usually do the drawing for the card and post it on the blog on Saturday, but I will be away at the Alexandra Palace all weekend demoing at the Big Stamp and Scrapbooking show.  Both the Sat. winner of the card and the Sunday comment game winners will be posted on Monday this week.  I really hope to see a lot of my blog family at the show, please stop by and say hi as I am demonstrating at my Rubbernecker stand (up by the food area).  All for now, Sue x

Norah, we are the lucky ones to have you in our midst, you bring so much happiness and laughter to our lives. We will wait for you to come back to us, you just have to find your way in your own time.
Esther, sorry for the loss of Sam. Jury, well done on your fund raising. Steph, I agree you just had to rescue that EF. Would have been cruel not to.
Jules and dad, hope you are both feeling better.
To all the wonderful people on this blog, have a lovely day and hugs all round. Lynne M and Dianneandchips hope you are okay, missing you both.

Morning Sue, Pam and all Wilsonettes, such a stunning card today, the colours are so vibrant and really go well together, you can really see the embossing folder on the silver card, it just goes to show what wonderful products your EF's are.

I am due to go to Ally Pally on Sunday so hopefully if I can squeeze in through the crowds - I will be in my wheelchair - then I can say hello, looking forward to that.

Have a safe, healthy and happy day everyone, hugs June Smith xxx

Non-traditional it may be, but this card suggests a lovely crisp frosty Christmas day - all too rare these days I'm afraid. Never apologise for Christmas cards Sue - they are a delight for those of us who love Christmas and I'm sure we can all see how adaptations of the lovely cards you make can be made for other occasions. I have watched your blog for a few years now, but have never commented before - I hope to do so again in future.

Good morning Sue and everyone. Caught a glimpse of this card on your shows at the weekend, thank you so much for giving us a closer look - it's gorgeous! I wasn't sure how the cut out poinsettias would work without the "base" one but your card shows how fantastic they look.
Esther, sorry for your loss. Steph, well done on rescuing and rehoming that EF! Norah, one day at a time, some will be easier than others but you have the inner strength.

Hi Sue
I am loving the christmas cards, if you think your colours are non traditional I have to make a yellow card for my Grandaughter Isabelle for christmas and her birthday have you ever seen yellow christmas trees and sleighs.
Norah it was lovely to see your comment and we are honoured to be your friends and send you love and hugs.
Gentle hugs for Leo and Skylar and love and hugs to all the Wilsonettes.
To the lady who lost her beloved pet my heart goes out to you as we lost our lovely Max age 12 end of July and we are still getting use to him not being around we are surrounded by his photos so they are of some comfort I send you hugs and you will always find friends here.
Steph I love the way you think I have just ordered some bits and hope to sneak them passed the security guard hubby, he knows I enter competitions and have won the odd one but can I keep using that or do I try your way and say I rescue them they would be lost and homeless if I did not buy them, I will let you know how I get on.
Hoping for some happy post today so will be making some more christmas cards, I have done the ones for posting to family so just have familyand friends hand delivery ones to do, and they are my specials.
Happy crafting to all and enjoy your visit to Ally Pally and say hi to Sue for me.

Morning Sue and friends.

Dont ever apologise for posting any kind of card here Mrs W ! Easter, Valentine, ANY will do whatever time of year, now that has been said, I dont think C. Cards have a 'traditional' colour anymore, so teal is just perfect especially mised with white/silver, it really is pretty. Not yet started mine yet, but my prize is all ready to use, need to order my silver and gold CE card, and hopefully when it arrives the delivery box from CE will be there again for me to give a pet a new home, well, isnt YOUR craft stash part of the family ???! Dont YOU pet and stroke your new dies and card ? I do as its taken SO long to save for what I need, it makes it all extra special : )
Hope my lovely friends that can get to AP the weekend have a wonderful time, but if distance or health get in the way, I feel your disapointment too.

To my special Wilsonettes having a bad morning, hopefully you will feel a little better as the day grows.
Made by Deborah, so nice to see your comment, hope to see you on a regular basis and join this caring family
Not sure if Ive slept on my right hand but I have 3 numb fingers this morning ! Not had that before - that'll make crafting easy - NOT !
Love to all.

What a lovely gift for your 'give away day'. Yes although my preference for the season is the traditional colours you have tempted me with the glorious TEAL! I also is a beautiful gift being simply in format and in the making so when we get the odd feeling that 'I'm sure I've missed someone' this comes to the fore.

Maria Alder/Brenda/Yorkielass - it was a very subdued afternoon at my crafty Knit and Natter yesterday. We were down on numbers reasons of holidays but more than that two Friends absence reason of family bereavement. Although the afternoon has the title of Knit & Natter we only have one lady of 85 who knits and the rest of us paper craft. We are to her 'the youngsters' as our ages range from 60 upwards.
Norah - One day at a time and sometimes even one hour at a time. You're all in my heart.
Steph - what a fantastic success to your rescue mission. I'm sure you trained with the SAS.
Sandra - missed you yesterday. Hope all is well.

No crafting today as it's the day for changing bedding. Am I the only one who really gets in a mess with such things as duvet covers? I may need Steph to come to the rescue so please stand by.

To all who are not so well please take care. To everyone take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

I did such a lot of Christmas buying before I went on holiday, that I've forgotten what I have bought. I also have a nightmare with duvet covers. Janet, they are nearly as bad as gilding flakes in that they have a mind of their own. Looking forward to seeing you at Ally Pally Sue, and hopefully some of the other Wilsonetres. Sandra has generously given us a lift with her hubby. We shall have some fun.
Hugs to Pam and Robbie, Lancs Steph and Norah, hope you going on ok.

hi sue, this is such a beautiful lovely card and one i would send at christmas as it is so unusual, i must have the poinsettia die even though i already have one but it isn't as pretty as yours, i am also goin to order your EF from JS. The colour of the background is so rich, it shows what you can do if you think outside the box, have a good time at ally pally i would love to see you demonstrating but there is no chance unless you come to manchester or birmingham where the craft shows are held, i am going to bring my husband home from hospital today he had a massive fit and has been diagnosed epileptic and is on medication for epilepsy amongst loads of other pills , anyway regards to all J

Oooh, Sue, which one of us is going to complain that you have decided to give away another of your beautiful cards? Put on some comfy shoes for Ally Pally, those days must be very tiring.

I wish I could come, but it's way out of any possibility so I'll just have to wait and see if you can post some pics (if, of course, you have time to take some!) Have a good Weekend.

Hi Sue,
I ,too, loved this card when I saw it on C&C. It is strange - but I didn't really like teal much or use it until I saw what you could do . It was the same with black! You really are a trendsetter. The teal looks lovely with the silver. I always preferred duck egg blue to teal - but now I'm being swayed.
Janet - duvet covers - particularly double ones drive me nuts. However ironing fitted double sheets really annoys me - always get creases in the wrong places. I have a friend who irons them on the bed - the sheets that is! Think I'll quit while I'm ahead here! Lol.
Anne - going to Spain ! Early start on Friday morning so we go to Hotel at the Airport the night before. Safe travel and enjoy your break.
Sandra - think Paul needs our prayers for your trip to Ally Pally - hope you Mrs B and Pat have a great time.
Norah - thinking of you - missing you and your lovely Ochils - but you just take care. Sending hugs to you and Rory. x
Lynne - missing you - hope you are ok.
DianeandChips chips - missing you too. Hope you alright.
Maggie - hope the 18th goes really well.
Sending love to Sue, Steph,Pam and Robbie, Alison, Tres, Lynda, Lindsay, June, Heather T , Anne, Sheila, Wheelybad, TOB Theresa, Brenda L, Frances, Julia L .
Love to all,

Craftynanna, hope your husband will be okay, i'm sure he'll be pleased to come home from hospital. You make sure you look after yourself as well.

Pat S, I have to keep a list on my computer of all my dies and EF. I update it when I make another

Hi Sue

I don't think traditional is something that is necessarily associated with Christmas anymore so don't worry... this is utterly stunning and I love teal but this could be done in any colour I think. I too have the spellbinders poinsettia but your dies are much better... the stamp makes a terrific background too. Congratulations on your sell outs, you are so much fun to watch. Your shows are an absolute highlight though I appreciate your family need you more than we do! Love and hugs to you and your Mom, from Billy and I xxx

I have had to play catch up since the weekend as it all got a bit crazy, saying goodbye to Alex who should be arriving in Cumbria any time soon (couldn't have gone further from Suffolk if he tried lol but it was such an opportunity to study in an environment very different to Suffolk where it's flattish and one of the driest parts of the country), it hasn't sunk in he's gone yet but soon as I've done this I have to update Skype so we can see each other. It'll sink in next week when I haven't seen him for 'work'. Poor Billy will miss him terribly but I think a new PA and cleaner to get a fuss from will soften the blow!

It's has been busy but if I prioritise it's ok, organising interviews for tomorrow and Friday, potentially finding a cleaner who is happy around big dogs, organising appointments for Billy and I and organising my craft space. Mr W is putting up net curtains so the table needs folding down and the table is covered in everything! Sorted a big bag of cardstock off cuts that have sat in my bits box forever as they are colours/ patterns I'm not keen on, some 6x6 pads, freebies I won't use and papers from magazines for my friends girl guide group. I have a stack of stuff for ebay ready to be weighed in the packaging and posted on the site. I hope to have everything ready if I do a few a day. I am very limited on space here so if it gets to the point I can't fit in more of anything I have a good purge! I have some storage to decorate this which which is so much fun so I may only be here in dribs and drabs. Takes my mind off missing Ally Pally as I think of it as making space and raising funds for future shows! I also take some bits to the charity shop, and have a nose around for picture frames or cool fabrics- just as I'm trying to make space lol!

Norah, I've thought of you and your family every day. Time is the best healer, take as much as you need as you know we are all here for you, lots of love and hugs to you all.

Cheryl, I hope the operation was a success and I wish you luck and love for your treatment ahead

Wilsonettes, I have run out of time again. I need to get up an hour earlier I think, as on these days I run out of 'spoons' I miss you all so much! You have been there for me on my rough days and I appreciate it so much. Your posts are such a highlight in my day. Hugs to all of you, wherever you are in the world, special hugs for Pam and Robbie, Leo and Skylar, the poor lady who lost her treasured pet- I'm sorry I don't remember your name but you are in my thoughts, Lynda, Yorkielass June, Sandra, Myra, Maria, Janet Ecco, Lindsay, Theresa, Julie L, Lancs Steph- whose posts make me laugh out loud every day and whose positivity is an inspiration, Lynne, Norah, Rory and family, anyone I've forgotten and those who are ill, recovering or in any kind of pain. Billy and I wish you happy crafing and even happier smiles. If I don't manage to post know I'm thinking of you all.

Love and crafty hugs,

T xxx
