Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi crafters!  I have a birthday card for today's card giveaway!  The background was created using the letterpress technique where I inked up my Rows of Bows Pinpoint embossing folder with a Clear Perfect Medium pad.  I used milk card inside the inked folder and ran it through my Grand Calibur to transfer the ink to the card.  Once embossed, I dusted it with Enchanted Gold mica powder.  While it is difficult to see in the large pictures, you will be able to see the soft shimmer in one of the close ups below very nicely.  I love this technique as it just adds a very soft detail to your backgrounds without taking over.  I used my California Collection Decorative Frames Set B to cut a frame out of black card.  I mounted it up on foam for the focal element.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Justrite die called the Vintage Filligree Layer die by Becca Feeken.  This die cuts out both the decorative outer frame and the inside piece where the sentiment was stamped.  I mounted the decorative piece vertically across my frame and then added my sentiment across the centre.  A border from the California Collection was cut out of black card and glued across the bottom of the card.  I embellished it with a chalk seam binding messy bow adorned with a Classic Rose made of soft gold card.  I put together two matching stick pins to finish off the bow embellishment.  The card was completed with a bit of matting with gold and black and a double milk mat with a pierced inner layer.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 9 1/4" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like to be entered in the drawing to win this one.  Check back for the winner's name on the Saturday morning post.  All for now, Sue x

Gorgeous card Sue! The embossing is superb and the frame is just perfect.
Went to Craftworld today to get some Creative Expression goodies. As you know the shop has lots of different brands of dies but one section was so busy and that was your dies and stamps etc. Spent a fortune and left skint but happy!!!

Hello Sue, you wouldn't think that black and white on a card could be so spectacular - well it is. Especially with the little touch of gold for the flower.
As I am not able to get online very often at the moment I have been working through the 106 of your videos that I have saved. What a great benefit to not being able to do anything. I especially liked yesterdays video and have ideas running about in my head for when I get home.
Happy crafting and crafty hugs to everyone. Diane xxxx
