Season's Greetings

Hi crafters!  I really wanted to show off this gorgeous aperture of the Christmas Angel.  I love how pretty it is!  I cut the angel in black so that it would make everything stand out nicely. I used milk card and cut the French Collection Background.  I added mounting foam to the aperture and seated it over the background.  I added this to another piece of card that was larger and ran double sided tape all the way around the edge.  I covered it with Iced Snow to add some sparkle to my card.  I stamped my sentiment in black and added my focal element above it.  The card was then matted in milk card that I added Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue dots in Ivory all the way around the edge.  A thin black mat was added before the final milk card mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  9" in size.  I do wish you could see her in person as she turned out just lovely!  All for now, Sue x

Thank you for starting the week with such a beautiful and very vey elegant gift. I do so love your Angel and as I've said before am using her for this season's special gifts. I've never had much success with aperture cards but will definitely be giving this one a go. I just know that she'll not be a patch on your but I just cannot resist her.

Txcowgirl - love your recipe yesterday.
Wheely Bad - I too love crisp beautiful bedding but I just refuse you spend a lot on it. Having to have two lots of everything to dress here and France it could work out very very expensive and after all spending six months in each country they only get used for half a year. (does that make sense?)This doesn't stop me from looking and stroking beautiful linen though.

It's going to be busy the next three days - Opticians this morning; GP this afternoon. Tomorrow it's my Knit and Natter and Wednesday Flu Jab. to quote a current advert on TV 'what a busy week we have'. Oh how I'd love to throw something at the women.
Washer already churning away so must get a wriggly on.
To all who are not feeling up to the mark get well soon and to all take care and see you tomorrow.

Good Monday Morning Ladies,
It's a wee bit miserable looking over Brize Norton today, not a glimpse of sunshine, although not cold either!
Sue that Angel Die us just heavenly (excuse the pun), she can be used in so many different ways, she is a very versatile Angel, today's card highlights that as it could just be the waste, yet it's so pretty! I hope you and Julia had a fun weekend, now time to relax a little. Xx
TxCowgirl, your recipe sounds delicious, may just have to give that a try!
Just to explain we would use 'pastry' to make a 'pasty'
Pronounced like 'nasty' !
I loved everyone's shoe stories yesterday, it would seem that the majority of us are flat shoe wearers! So being able to stamp an elegant shoe is as close s we get.
I think most of us would feel the same about becoming an angel......I think I would have to wait an eternity to earn my wings! Hahaha
Norah, I do hope you, Rory and the rest of your lovely family are well, you are in my thoughts every day my lovely, I look forward to your wonderful stories brightening my days again very soon, try to keep swimming against the tide my friend, as I promise you it is all too easy to let yourself get dragged down, to a darker place that becomes a huge struggle to fight to get out of! So please just keep paddling in the right direction, we all have your back. Huge hugs xx
Wheely Bad, be wary of the laminate floor idea, my mum has them and on a wet day I have to fight to stay up right, my crutches want to go different directions.
also I just want to say that if you have blown your craft budget and want a particular die shape to play with, I am more than happy to cut you some and send you them to play with, although my budget is limited, I have most oft he California collection, a couple of the bows, the faux quilled flowers, and the Austrian Border I think! Just let me know, I am happy to share and have a fairly good range of coloured card.
Well my chicks have all flown the nest today, no sickies or stragglers, it's a lonely, echoing, home today, I don't like it! I do hope you all have a good start to the week!
Hugs to each and everyone of you,
Sandra xxxxx

The negative of the angel has made such an elegant card, Sue, have thrown too many negs away without even thinking if they have a use.
Funny about all of us who don't do the shoe thing - guess we're mostly getting a bit senior now.
Don't include you in that, Sue!
Hope you get some rest time before your next marathon weekend - October already - and this week too. Still, all C cards done apart from sentiments. Phew.

'P' in Wales

Thanks all for calzone info - we're a bit lacking in worldwide food in rural Wales. Anne (without an 'e') a tiddy-oggy is Cornish vernacular for potato pasty but usually now contains more than that. Txcowgirl - you did make ma laugh - looked up pasty in US and it's a bit risgue!

Hi Sue. Isn't she beautiful. I love the background showing through.
Wheeliebad, dogs, crutches and wheelchairs do not mix well with laminate flooring in my experience. Very slippery, some times dangerously so, and a nightmare to keep looking clean as it shows every single dog hair and mark! I felt that I had to warn you.
Sending my daily hugs to you Sue, to Pam and Robbie, to Sandra and Pat-am just off to email you both- all of my other special friends and to all in need. Take care.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes. Another new week, and a week to look forward to full of beauty and inspiration. How unfair is it that just ONE beautiful lady has SO many wonderful, unusual, stunning idea's, not unfair at all as you share these amazing ideas with all of us. I bet there isn't one single sister here that would have thought about using the angel die like that (beats be-heading her like I mentioned during launch week) !!! A total oopsie when I meant something totally different !!! Hohum, well if that aint me allll over ! It really is so clever and stunning Sue.
Murial - if you buy nothing else this week you MUST buy some iced snow, I got some a few weeks ago, its amaaaaazing, but I just want to sit and stare at it, do I really want to use it on cards that may get re-cycled ? Lol you will adore it.
Im only too happy to share die cuts too, I may not have the largest collection, but anyone is welcome to ask and if I have what you want to play with im only too happy to share.
After all the hard work on a day I felt a little under par I probably have made enough to treat myself to a new C. ef or a couple of packs of foundation gold or silver card ! Oh well that's life (good job I took my 'Im feeling fine' mask) to market, and thank goodness it was only 4 hour's !
Must go check up on this recepie Im reading about.

To all my lovely friends that dont feel so well, my basket of hugs is open wide. To those going into hospital, in hospital etc come take as many as needed.
To my dearest friends who dont need naming, I thank you for who you are.
Have a lovely day.
Love you.

Good morning Sue and my special Wilsonette friends,
Oh how i love this angel Sue as she is just heavenly. I love how you have put the French background under the aperture to wow us from behind. I know how you love black but i think i will try this beautiful creation all in white as i love your white cards. Hope you had a great weekend meeting all the big hearted Wilsonettes at Taunton. Sorry i didn't get posting yesterday as No.1 son decided to close the computer down without saving what i had typed and being honest after working all day in mum's garden i was absolutely knackered at night. Mr M even said as i went to start and make dinner not to bother as he was taking us out and oh it was so nice but i think i would have enjoyed it better if i hadn't been so sore and tired. I know i did too much but there is just so much to do in her garden that i need to do it while it is dry. Feeling the effects of it today but a good lot was achieved. Got 2 shawls to wash and pin out today and mitts, bootees and helmets to knit. Sewn up all bar one of the baby cardigans so they need washed and laid flat to dry as well. Maybe once i have that wee lot done i'll have a rest.
Wheely Bad, i had laminate flooring and poor Tia did the splits when it was wet. She is not so bad on the wooden floors but laminate is not a good combination for me or her. Sorry for poking my nose in but having had a few mishaps in making friends with the floor myself because of same stuff i would urge you to try you and Billy out on it in the shop first for your own safety flower.
Sandra i am going to say it is nice that you have the house to yourself again only because that means everyone must be on the mend and for no other reason than that although you will miss the company again, but i am glad the wee lass' is better again.
I am sending hugs to all the wonderful Wilsonette Angels that have us in their thoughts as i am so thankful for each and every one of you and your friendship. To all that is having a hard time or just in need of one i send a hug to and to all those that are supporting friends and relatives going through the mill i am sending up a wee prayer to keep you safe.
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil, misty and cooler)

Hi Sue

What a gorgeous card! I started thinking you could do the poinsettia waste in the same way. Sure there are others. This background die is calling to me every time I see it. I've done apertures plenty of times but never thought of this. Quite amazing.

Thank you ladies for the warnings about laminate flooring. There are floorboards that I imagine could be tidied up and would look lovely, even the boards in my 'everything' room look quite nice (there's no carpet in there). I shall pass this on to Mr. W, he will know of or be able to find out from the other tradesmen at the college where he works of alternatives. I've killed the heavy traffic carpet in the hall with my chairs and we clean forgot about crutches as although I use the chairs 95% I do like to walk when I can. We were just thinking about the chair and I love the advice about taking Billy to try them as he moves so fast at times it'd be doggy face- plants into walls and doors on an even more regular basis. He'd be careful when he's not excited but when someone knocks he does circuits of the floor and furniture until I answer the door. Thank you all so much for your input.

Sounds like I missed something... recipes for something yummy! I need to check back on the posts.

Sandra and Steph, I love the idea of sharing some die cuts, sounds like I have a few different ones to yours too- a 'try before you buy'! wheelybad at gmail dot com (change "at" for @ etc -writing it out this way stops auto spammers) maybe if people want to I could set up a Wilsonettes Facebook group or page for this sort of contact and sharing pictures of our cards. I'm not a prolific Facebook user at all. It's very invasive wanting to know about everything!!! I only really go on to answer personal messages but it has its uses for this sort of thing. I understand not everyone uses Facebook but if enough people are interested I can set it up (Mr W calls me 'technical support as I'm forever sorting his technology woes. Having worked in education at one time computers were forced on me and I learned fast!) Wilsonettes, say so if you are interested and it can be made possible.

Pat L, hugs for Sarah (my middle name), you and your family. Hope what she's had done helps her and that she's home soon x

Baby hugs for Leo and Skylar, awesome hugs for Robbie, Extra special hugs for those ill, in any sort of pain or in recovery, Special hugs for Wilsonettes everywhere in the world. So sorry I've kept this bit brief, I had new cleaner and the first face to face meeting for prospective PA's today so I was up early (for me!). I am starting to flag and am going to sign off for now. Happy crafting everyone,

Love T x

Hi Sue,
Beautiful. Love how you have used the aperture. The angel is one of my favourite dies and I'm really looking forward to making my cards this year as I now have quite a few of your new dies. Love and hugs to everyone. Love Alison xxx

Lovely card today Sue, the way you have used the die to make a cut out with another die cut behind looks great, very much like that other craft when paper is folded behind an aperture, but without all that hard work.

In another way this particular image looks a bit spooky!! Maybe just me and the way I'm looking at it.

Craftihappiness to everyone and love from Pearl.

Who's a pretty lady then? Just gorgeous. What will you do with the black angel, I wonder? Hmmm.

Hi Sue
Another stunner today. Who would have thought of using the Angel aperture like this. Sue you amaze me with your ideas. I'm not really Angels myself, checked back on my baubles and I had bought your vintage ones, so then went out and bought your sentimental ones and they arrived while I was at school. Hugs to Pam and Robbie as usual. Wheels bad, I bet you thought buying flooring was simply didn't you. But I'm glad our Wilsonettes are giving you some good advice.
I to must look back to see what recipe I have missed, not that I'm a baker mind you as my cakes don't turn out to well. Now my grand children are a different matter. Amy, my eldest makes stunning cakes.
Hugs to Mrs B and Sandra as usual, hope your not to lonely Sandra with everyone back at school and work today. Look forward to seeing you both on Thursday.
Hugs to those in need of one today especially Lacpncs Steph and Norah.

Sweet Sue, good morning! Love how you used your angel cast away, very clever. I've been resisting her, even though she's been calling my name since first seeing her. You just made it even harder to resist, and I like the suggestions on the blog for other uses besides angels.
In doing a search on Amazon here in the states for Sue Wilson dies, what popped up were dies you have done for Spellbinders. I have several of these, so it was good to know I've been a fan of yours even longer than I knew.
If it's okay to ask, have you ever given thought to making a die of a horse? I can only imagine how lovely a steed you'd make, with long flowing mane and tail, an Andalusian or Friesian perhaps. A girl can dream, right?
Suppose I'm a little weepy now. Our youngest daughter, who is living in California (1800 miles away), had her first big horse show yesterday, and we couldn't be there. So proud of her, she took a 3rd in dressage, and 1st in cross country, so a 2nd overall. Oh well, maybe someday soon we'll get to attend.
Sandra, thank you for the "pasty", sounds like "nasty", explanation. I have never heard of this, nor the friends I asked either. No, we would pronounce it like "paste" but with a "y" ending. Not AT ALL the same meaning.
Anonymous, a tiddy-oggy, sounds like what we call a potato pancake.
Pat L., prayers for your granddaughter, so sorry she has had to go through such a difficult time. How hard to see our litte ones suffer so, and tough being patient, wanting so much to fix it all for them.
Wheely Bad, it might be very nice to have a fb page, as you suggested. I think you can make it a "closed group page", so no one can see it unless invited. Sounds like fun, and we could get inspiration from seeing projects.
Guess I better get the laundry done, and quit playing on here. Have a blessed day everyone.

Hellooooo Sue and the Wilsonettes! Oh....Sue,,,,she is beautiful, just beautiful. What a fantastic idea of using the pretty French background under the aperture. I love how you have glittered the sides and the "pearls" too. Gorgeous, simply gorgeous. I just love her! xx Susan P, I was just thinking, with the black angel you can always use a versamark of whatever stamp that you have and like. Then you could either use embossing powder of whatever colour or micra powder. mmmmm, wow, now that would be stunning! Sending lots of love to you Sue and your family xx "Thank you" so much for your wonderful inspiration. I hope you will have a few days rest now xx Cheryl, will be thinking of you on Friday....xx I'm sure you will make a beautiful memory book of your husband. Hi Sue, like Dawn H, I am not usually a great fan of angels but I have fallen just a lot in love with this die. She is beautiful. The placement of the aperture is perfect on the background and it radiates through!! Autumn may well be round the corner, but we're still hanging on (just!) to the Indian summer down here in the South. Can't wait for Spring already!!! Lots of love to all, Karen xxx

A double whammy with this one. The die cut and then using the aperture.
I like the idea of making the most of one piece of card. It looks fab.
Hope you had a good weekend at Craftasmic. The people who run it are always so helpful. A tiny shop that carries so much stock. its amazing. Still gutted that I was still on holiday and not able to make it. Hopefully you will make a return visit and i will be able to attend one of the workshops.
Luv
Karen xx

While I likie the idea of this card, I'm afraid I really don't like this angel die (the head looks deformed somehw) and black for Christmas just doesn't sit right -but the idea of the cut=out with the filigree behind is a good one and I'm sure can be adapted.

evening sue what can one say except this card is absolutely beautiful and inspirational and i agree the angel is a must have.
cheryl hope your op goes well on friday, and wheely bad the idea about exchangeing die cuts is a good idea as long as sue does't mind because if we all exchanged die cuts we wouldn't need to buy any of sue's dies and please, please don't get mad at me for pointing this out. regards to all J

Hello Sue,
This is a clever use of the 'waste' it looks beautiful with the French background die cut behind it, then you have framed it with Iced Snow - this is a real WOW - love this one.
Very tired we have had a very busy day, mostly shopping for kitchen items, a mini makeover, not the full works, don't think MrL could cope with that!!!!!!! After which we collected grandchildren from school and stayed to babysit until about 9.30. Could have stayed over, but said we would come home.......Do like my own bed!
Goodnight Sue and everyone, love Brenda xxx
