Congratulations!

Hello all!  What a weekend!  I am dead on my feet, but had a great time!  I always enjoy meeting my blog family and there were loads of you there this time so it was great fun!  I didn't take very many pics this time, but I will try to get the few I did take up on the blog sometime later in the week for you to see.  For today's card, I have used the Austrian background and this is the same technique as the card I posted on Saturday, but with a small change in products.  I used a piece of black card and covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I ran it through the Grand Calibur with my Austrian background.  I did, however, use the centre oval and cut out that section.   I peeled up the fall away pieces and gilded the exposed sticky areas using Calypso gilding flakes.  I removed the remaining backing paper and covered the exposed area with Midnight Snow.  It is sort of like a black version of Iced Snow.  It tends to sit very flat though where as the Iced Snow is more dimensional.  You do need to burnish this well with your fingers and make sure it is well stuck.  I did have a few stray bits that you can see in the close ups. Funny thing is that I couldn't see them when I took the pics, but on the computer they are very visible in the close up shots.  It's times like this I know just how bad my eyesight really is!  I added mounting foam to the back.  On coconut white card, I stamped my sentiment from the Bold sentiment set by Creative Expressions.  I used the inner die to emboss the piercing around the edge.  I mounted the background over it so it was recessed.  I made a flower out of rust satin ribbon where I snipped into the ribbon at intervals, then heated it to melt the sections.  I added tape to the bottom and rolled it.  I seated it on some black seambinding and added a stick pin.  I finished the card with a white pierced mat layer and a thin black mat and a final white mat. The finished dimensions are 7" x  9" in size.

Now for all the announcements!  First up, the winner of the Wednesday Card Giveaway is:
Jacquie J!!!

Morning Sue, Pam and all Wilsonettes. Stunning card today Sue using the hi low technique, another for me to try....gosh my to do list is getting longer, I will have to catch up a bit.

It was so wonderful to see you again yesterday at Ally Pally as well as lots of Wilsonettes, it was amazing, and you were so helpful with regards to the problem I had with the shimmer powder and the reason why it wasn't sticking properly, thank you so much.

Congratulations to the winners I know you enjoy your lovely prize.

Try and take it easy Sue and rest up a bit....have some Sue time......... as you have really been busy this past week what with your C&C shows and then Ally Pally and that is without all the other stuff you do and all the preparations for them.

Stay safe, healthy and happy everyone, hugs June Smith xxx

Great card, Sue, absolutely love it all - esp. the fab rose. Ploughing through the C cards at the moment and am on a roll but must try this technique soon.
Should think you are pretty exhausted with all that chatting, never mind the work bit! Can't imagine you 'putting your feet up' but hope you get some down time for a day or two.

'P' in Wales

Norah - oh my, so exciting to be moving back 'home' even if it is some time ahead - see some funny stories coming up! My Mum had lived in her house for 90 years (and her mother before that) so you can imagine clearing that when she left to come to me. In the end, had to leave a lot of it to a house clearance firm, and pay them too!

Morning Sue, hope you are still sleeping as I add my comment, as you've had the most incredible busy time since landing back in the UK, bet you cant even remember that day, your feet touched the ground faster than the plane wheels on tarmac !
I have read a few comments and seen a few pictures re AP and an email from a really chuffed Wilsonette who took her daughter - you really are a special person Sue xx

Todays card suits the morning (so far) autuminal, all the leaves are falling now, and the guilding flakes just pick up the season so well. Although I feel it may send me into a panic lol you seem to be posting quite a few 'panic type' cards this past week lol it's beautiful though, a real Sue Wilson wonder card.
Off to Wales later with an extreamly vocal dog that sings and shouts and screams with anticipation !!! Still, id rather have that than see her cower to the ground when we take a shoe/ slipper of thinking she's going to get beaten with it ! Poor little dog, anyway, she's off for a lovely 4 days of fun on the sand (God willing) and I'll have my flowers to make should we be lacking in sun !
To my dear lovely special friends, please let the day be kind to you.
Love you.

morning Sue
So pleased the week-end went well and that many of my Wilsonette Sisters managed to get to you. Hope that now you can have some R&R this week.
I'm afraid that again within two days I'm having to say that today's gift is not doing it for me. It is the same reasoning as Saturday of there being too much black and it being on the dark side. I appreciate the techniques you have used it's just the colours. Sorry.

Steph - have a safe journey today. So who is going to be more excited on the way you or your beautiful little baby? Hoping your flowers come back in the same state they go in which means you have had sunshine all the way.
Lynne - thinking of you both - take care.
Norah - What a fantastic thing for you and yours to move into your childhood home. You must have just had a little lapse and forgotten that men are always children whatever age they are. Never mind it will give him something to think about and keep him out of your hair (lol). It's more than lovely to have you back. Just take care. Hope Rory has a good time in Collage today.
Sandra - so pleased you had a good time and met up with some of our Sisters. Hoping you can have a little R&R after the busy week-end you had.

Very Autumnal this morning and on the somewhat chilly side. CRAFTING day today Yehhhhhhhhhhh and the first testing of the new table. Hoping Mr Tesco arrives at the beginning of his hour so then no distractions.
To all who are feeling under 100% take things easy today to everyone take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Lovely to read everyone's stories of Ally Pally! I just had to check in because of that. I think it's called being nosey - but Im calling it being interested!
Sue, not in the least surprised that you are tired. The heat, being constantly on your feet never mind chatting and demonstrating. Have a lovely soak and then a rest today!
Norah - lovely to hear about your intended move even if it will be a wee while yet. Lovely memories. I think it was Janet and Alison who mentioned emptying their Mum's house. It was all the photos that got to me when I did that - all the cards that had been kept and things I had made down to my first piece of embroidery! Now someone will have to remove it from my home! Lol! Don't overdo things, young lady! X

Hi Sue
Hope you are at home today and relaxing after a very busy weekend.
Your card is beautiful and very elegant love your technique
I made a big MISTAKE with the sticky sheets instead of putting onto my card i put it on my die and cant get it off i tried soaking it in soapy water which didn't work so put it in the freezer which made it worse but a friend said to try the remover stuff for stickyness - cant remember the name- hopefully that will help. I must take better notice in the future when working with the sticky sheets
Take care Sue

Hi Sue,
I haven't got the midnight snow, but use nebula and midnight ice - both are stunning on black card. Will definitely try this with the gilding flakes.
the card is another stunner, LOVE that rose and the stick pins and of course, the die. Truly elegant.
Good to hear that you were able to meet even more of your fans than usual, one of these days I'll be there, too.

Hello Sue, I love the gilding flakes colour as the black truly makes them stand out. Not sure about the black snow as I expected it to be glittery.
It's time now to put your feet up for a day to recoup. Thank you for being so nice and kind to everyone.

Good afternoon Sue and my Wilsonette Angels,
Now Sue please don't faint but the black of this card shows off the gilding flakes beautifully and the rust coloured ribbon flower is just the finishing touch. This is such a beautiful card in the black but the gilding flakes are just the piste de resistance as it reminds of the flames of a real fire in the colours. Glad that you had such a great time at the Ally Pally, but there again i think you always do when you know that your blog family are coming to see you. I do hope though that you at least take today off to recover from the last fortnight of hard work.
Crikey "P" in Wales, it's bad enough that they normally give you pittence, but to charge you for goods that they are going to make out of you is a bit off. I would have loved a look around your mum's house as the memories and nick nacks gotten over the years would have really intrigued me. I love old things as they had character and a life behind them, but hubby sees it as rubbish. Mum has a pair of Wally Dugs that one is cracked and glued together but i can remember when that happened and what she did to the poor man who forgot to tell her the detonators were going off at the quarry. Suffice to say he never ever forgot to let her know again. Campbell can't see the need for them because one is glued, but for me that is a hilarious memory of when i was younger. I was always the china and silly knick knacks person because i would stare at them for hours or play with the whatever i could be trusted with or the brasses. It will take time for me to get the house to be our home instead of my old home but it will be loved just as much.
From a beautiful day here in Glenochil with the sun shining and the hills showing off all their beauty including the AYE letters that some panda has made out of white bed sheets and hung them off the cliff face. To all my friends on holiday i hope you are having a wonderful time wherever you may have went. To my friends who are down, ill or looking after someone whose is ill i wish a speedy recovery to them including the biggest of our children that we inherited by marrying them we need you back on the up again and this i hope soon. Sending hugs to everyone of the special friends that are on this blog with love surrounding them,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah
