Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello my crafty friends!  I thought that I would make my first demo card from Sunday  a Wednesday giveaway.  I think it is such a pretty card, that periwinkle and white just sings to me!  I started by stamping a piece of periwinkle card using the Justrite Twisted Fleur background stamp inked with Clear Perfect Medium.  I heat embossed it with True White embossing powder.  I cut down three sides of the card, leaving a bit at the bottom edge.  I cut a wide strip of coconut white card and embossed it using my new Pinpoint folder called Rows Of Bows.  I added this piece to the bottom edge of the background then cut an Italian border out of periwinkle card and glued it across the join area.  I added small 3mm white pearls to the border as embellishments.  For the focal element, I cut the Hollywood die in white using the insert and the outer cutting edge.  I mounted it on a piece of periwinkle blue card that I cut with just the outer cutting edge to the die.  It provided a perfect matching shape and allowed the blue to show through the pretty decorative white die cut.  I mounted it with foam on the stamped background.  Using the stamp from the Rose Bouquet set by Justrite, I stamped it on to periwinkle card with a perfect medium pad and heat embossed it with white powder.  I cut it out with the matching Vintage Labels Two die, stamped my sentiment in black in the centre and mounted it with foam in the middle of my die cut.  I made a flower out of the white crochet ribbon by using the ribbon rose method at the top of my blog.  I seated the rose on white tulle and added a few fern trio leaves around it.  I finished the card by piercing the edge of a white mat layer using my piercing ruler to frame it.  A thin blue mat then a wider white mat finished the card off nicely.  If you would like to be included in the drawing to win this one, just leave me a comment!  I will announce the winner on Saturday's blog post.  Finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Sue - forgive please:

JULIE LAZ - so pleased you have your new puppy, is there a name??
Like Barbara said, it is never too early to train, start straight away. You (or rather Lee and son) have the perfect weather for popping in and out all the time so just keep at it!! Set the boundaries and keep to them, behaviour wise, as animals respond to and thrive on consistency. And love your little Sophie lots, meanwhile, even if she is favouring the lovely Lee. Things have a way of settling down without you even noticing!

Hugs to you all. 'P' in Wales

Hi Sue, lovely to see you the tv on Sunday. This card is beautiful as usual. Love the colour. Been feeling a bit down the last couple of weeks. Had some sort of skin infection, getting better though. I think the hot weather had something to do with it. Looking forward to more of your cards.

Afternoon Sue, loved his card when you showed it on C&C, using your amazing new EF.
Julie, pop the pup out every time she wakes into your garden for a pee, after playing and after eating, that what we always did with our dogs, and loads of praise for getting it right and ignore when an accident happens.
Will go through the rest of the comments later when I have more time, love to all my great Wilsonette family xxxx

Afternoon Sue and all the Wilsonettes,

Where to start... I love this 'Wedgwood'- as it was described by another blogger- colour scheme. I ordered the 5 colours of cardstock and I can see this going first! Such a pretty card.

I also want to mention how lovely yesterday's cards were, I loved the little gingerbread men looking like they were holding hands and so appropriate in light of Lancashire Stephs comments about how she has found friendship and support on this blog, a comment reiterated by so many others. I agree wholeheartedly. The support I've had this last week has really helped and before, just to be a part of a like minded community for the first time in years has been fantastic for me. I had become pretty antisocial over the last 4 years since having to stop permitted work but now I WANT to read and comment- interact with others. Mr WheelyBad has even noticed how much I smile reading everyones comments where at first I used to skim through. It is truly a highlight of the day (I can't say the, Mr WheelyBad and Billy might get offended!)

Belatedly, my sincere condolences to Margaret and her family on the passing of her father in law.

Julie Laz congratulations on your new arrival!

Nanna Tina, hope the Doc is right and things settle down soon as possible

Cameeli, have a lovely time in America, hugs for Pam and especially Robbie, Anne I'm glad you had a lovely afternoon of golf, hugs for Lancs Steph for her lovely words yesterday making me realise how much I owe to you all for making me want to be a part of the world again, big hugs for Lynda, Lindsay, Yorkielass June, Alison, anyone I've forgotten and extra special hugs for those who are ill, in pain or who just need one and of course a big hug for Sue.

Yup, another long one (sorry). Was back in bed yesterday and reclined almost all day today so far. V.frustrating and hyperactive bit of brain was building toward a bit of a tantrum yesterday truth be told, but calmer today and have to remind myself it could be a damn sight worse. Got worried yesterday then re read the literature. Can be normal for original symptoms and more to come back after a 'few days'... is 4 few? Grrrr! Confusion, frustration, 4 biscuits on the bounce for comfort- oops! Going to go and *try* to decide what to buy myself for a treat to cheer me up. Got a list as long as my arm of stamps, dies, extra bits and fabric and trying to pick what I want first is sooo difficult! At this rate I'll be pulling a name out of a hat!

Crafty hugs,

T x

Hi Julie, many congrats on your new puppy. We started straight away with our fur babies. Every time they woke up/ after they eaten we took them out to the garden. We even took them out for a wee during the night for the first few weeks. They soon learnt and would readily go to the back door to let us know. It did help though that we got them in July as it made it easier to leave the door open to save a few moments getting them outside. Hope all goes well lol lynne m, tilly & cully x x x

Hi Sue. Such a beautiful, beautiful card today !! I really love this one !! Your Californian dies are gorgeous and I find myself using them a lot. Your colour combo is fab !! Periwinkle Blue is one of my favourite colours at the moment. I like the Justrite stamp, but your new bow embossing folder just looks amazing Sue !! I just wish I had the money to buy it all !! I love the Hollywood die and it is on my wish list. I love your Crochet flower to. Just beautiful. x x x
I loved yesterday's Christmas Two-fer cards also. They were both such lovely cards. I do like the Gingerbread men card, it looks fun. Lovely colours and very Christmassy. I really loved the bauble card to, some lovely ideas for our Christmas cards. I have used your new dies. I bought the Petite Vinery dies and OMG, they are amazing Sue !! They are so intricate and detailed and so very delicate I thought I would break them getting them out of the die but they are fantastic !! Such brilliant quality and even though they are so intricate there was no wax paper needed !!
They are very impressive Sue !!
Sending you lots of love Tres x x x

Hi, Sue
This card is quite traditional looking and as described earlier, reminiscent of Wedgewood. It is a very pretty card.

I saw Ben in SET H'west earlier and got the rest of The French Dies Collection, together with the Daisies, which I couldn't resist. Good job hubby isn't here!!! Lol
Need to start having a play with these now as I have a few birthdays coming up in August.
Hopefully the new embossing folders will come tomorrow...

Condolences to Margaret Corgi Owner and family.

Hugs to all,

Angela in S. Wales X
