Love The Simple Things

Hello all!  A card from yesterday's Toolshed show for you today.  It was lovely to get to do a double act with Julia for the very first time!  She was so kind to share her show with me so that I was able to launch my new folders!  I think that the overall response to them was fabulous!  I know you will love using them as much as I do!  Now on to today's card.  I used the Doily stamp from Justrite and stamped it all over my periwinkle background card using a Clear Perfect Medium Pad.  I heat embossed it with True White Detail embossing powder.  I cut a border from the California Collection and mounted it diagonally across the card for interest.  I tied a messy bow out of white seam binding and spritzed it with water, then crumpled it for a shabby chic sort of look.  I dried it with my heat tool and added a white crystal sparkler and matching stick pins to it and seated it on the upward end of my border.  For my focal element, I stamped the Rose Bouquet stamp, first on periwinkle card then on coconut white card, both times using a black archival ink pad.  I die cut both of them using two sizes of the Vintage Labels Three die from Justrite.  I mounted them up with foam in between.  I cut two of the Majestic Circles in white and off set them as a base for my focal element.  I mounted the entire piece in the upper portion of my card.  I paper pierced a white white using my piercing ruler, added a thin blue mat and a final white mat to complete my card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x 7 3/4" in size.

I will be posting the winners of the Second Release Die Giveaway later this afternoon so don''t forget to check back and see if your name was drawn!  All for now, Sue x

Hello Sue and everyone, beautiful stunning card today. Toolshed was great yesterday, amazing how in tune you and Julia are.
Tina E, you were right, so emotional to read about Robbie, I wish I was able to visit too, a big hug from Aunty Pam, not in same league as Oscar but hey ho.
Mrs Duck, you opening comment yesterday made me laugh, very Calamity Jane,
Lindssay, please rest up after moving all that hay.

Hi Sue I really enjoyed yesterdays shows, the samples that you and Julia presented were beautiful, what a talented pair you both are to keep coming up with so many new ideas. Todays card to also be adapted to a Christmas card using a snowflake stamp I think. Have a good day Edwina

Good morning Sue and everyone. Love the white on periwinkle and the reminder that stamps are not just for a focal point but can be made into a background too. The shows were amazing yesterday, and the folders shown off wonderfully.
I forgot to say congratulations to all the winners yesterday - it must have been the excitement at seeing my name there! Good luck to everyone for this afternoon. Sue xxx

Good morning Sue
Really enjoyed the shows yesterday and your new folders are fabulous. Today's card is stunning I love the white embossing it looks so pretty. When I put a border on a card I never think of putting it diagonally only horizontally or vertically but you have made me think differently.
I just want to say how much I love your new itty bitty bows they are so cute and my new 'favourite' embellishment lol.

Hi Sue. What a gorgeous card. I love the periwinkle/white colour combo(my all time favourite) and the Doily stamp is so delicate and beautiful.I missed the shows yesterday, unexpected visitors turned up at about 11.50am and left at just before 6pm! Luckily I had already put the shows onto record so I can watch today. It was a great surprise and lovely to see them, I just couldn't believe the timing. Glad to hear that the shows went well for you and Julia though. Do you have plans to do more together? : )
Pam, sending my daily hug to you and Robbie. I think we all had a tear or two in our eyes after hearing about Robbies reunion with Oscar and his ability to control his wheelchair, let's hope the news continues in that vein. One less day until the pot comes off for you : )
Norah, I hope you got the washing done yesterday, sure you have more today though if your place is like mine! I hope your hills are clear and sunny for you today, who needs the sand and sea when they have the views that you have : )
Sending Sue, my special friends and all in need hugs to you all. Good Luck for the die giveaway later today everyone. Thank you again for being so generous Sue: ) Take care.

Love that doily stamp, it's so pretty. You could easily make it look like a Christmas card by embossing in a different colour and adding more festive elements couldn't you? Very versatile.
Will check in again later but not expecting to be lucky as you have such a big following now. Fingers crossed!

Thank you so much for brightening my very very dull and wet Monday morning here in Burgundy. We had a thunderstorm yesterday afternoon and it looks as though we may not have finished with them giving how this morning looks.

What a beautiful colour - I do love blue in any shade and so it goes without saying today's colour scheme is a big hit with me.
I didn't manage to see any of the shows yesterday - no signal - but having read all the Wilsonettes' comments it was as expected a great success.

Cameeli hope you had a really good weekend with your Sister.

Hoping everyone is feeling ready to meet all challenges this week - don't forget all those in need of a gentle reminder - baby steps lead to toddlers lead to success.

Take care everyone and see you tomorrow.

Good morning Sue, Pam and everyone, I was so enthralled with yesterdays tool shed, it really was a very interesting programme and more tips and techniques - love the one about stamping large areas where you put the card to the pad and not the other way round which you would think was the norm, and also the trick with the Grand Calibre, handy scissors you have there. I have tried both types of edging which you do, one is pricking the holes all the way round, I did this with my Tim Holtz ruler which has the holes already in the ruler, then, and as you know Sue I was concerned about getting my pearls straight, I did another card where I used the ruler again but this time I used bigger spaces and covered the holes with flat back pearls and it has come out a treat. Oh and also I ordered your new embossing folders. I too enjoyed the way you and Julia worked together - especially sharing what both of you had forgotten to bring, that is what crafting is all about. Anyway Sue and everyone, have a great day whatever you are doing, stay safe, happy and healthy, June Smith xx

Good Morning , Sue and fellow Wilsonettes. I saw some of yesterday's Toolshed, but was recording the full two hours and Julia's 5pm show anyway so that I didn't miss any of the wonderful demos.
I made sure I ordered the embossing folders and Soft Gold Card before I went out : - )

Congratulations to all the many, lucky comment winners from yesterday.
Sorry, I forgot to return and post my comment last night.

Today's card is pretty. I haven't tried using some of my larger stamps in this way, although I've used some of my floral and flourish stamps to create backgrounds using first and second generation stamping.

Best Wishes everyone, hope the sun is shining where you are and hugs to Pam, Tina , Julie and all in need ((( )))

Morning Sue, I bet you slept well last night. Morning Wonderful Wilsonettes, hope you had a restful sleep last night, although these awful humid nights and sticky days are taking their toll on me !
Mrs Duck - what a brilliant opening to your comment yesterday, thank you, you really made me smile, it was so funny, bless you and congrats : )

Thank you Sue for a lovely few hour's yesterday, just loved your new EF's and im not suprised that they sold well, not only do you always offer something different you give us the quality to help us improve, so thank you for that. Now your die collection has launched and your folders are flying out of stock, Im wondering how you will spend your days - any chance of a quiet holiday ?
Today's card is so delicate and such a pretty shade of blue, think it should join my cardstock stash as the true white powder amd card were made for each other, but the doily stamp - WOW, its adorable and every tiny little detail comes to life (I doubt Id make it look that pretty) maybe I will try to save and add it to what stamps I have, boy I need to win the lotto, just 250.00 would do, just so I can get die set 1 and 2 before your 3rd collection lol plus this doily stamp and I'll be satisfied : )

Well, Nana Tina, dont over do it today, you are doing so well by reaching the sofa, just go steady.
Pam - I bet you cant wait to get rid of that heavy hot pot, not the kind of 'hot pot' you need in this weather. And my daily thoughts and loving hugs are on there way to you and Robbie.
Ita, I do hope today brings less pain.
And to ALL lovely Wilsonettes that maybe struggling to greet the day with a smile I hope you start and feel better as the day goes forward and you are cheered up by reading your name on the die collection draw later.

GOOD LUCK to EVERYONE.
Love you.

Another great card. The colours remind me of Wedgewood. I really enjoyed the show yesterday and Julia and yourself were so informative, I felt Steph was a good presenter with you both. So many cards you had both made and each one a masterpiece. I think Toolshed allowed you to showcase all the products so well. Kind regards Sandra Kent.

What a lovely fresh feel this card has with the white, blue and accents of black! love it. The Toolshed yesterday had me glued to my bed (picked up a bug from a child at our local show a week before, where I was making loomband bracelets with the youngsters) and was just the tonic I needed! Got up in time for Julia at 5. Love the new folders, Sue, another triumph! Love to all, Judy M

Hi Sue,
I watched the Toolshed last night and this card was one - just one - of my many favourites! Julia and you really are a great team and as has been said already we would love to see you both together on screen again! The cards Julia demonstrated were gorgeous too. I have ordered the embossing folder with the bows from Julia's store. I could not justify getting all three as I bought some new dies. Only so many parcels that can be hidden in gardening weather! Lol! You see because of me my husband is on first name terms with the postman! I thought I wasn't keen on doyley stamps until yesterday and today! Oh Sue!
Sheila (Ginger) - I missed you - so sorry you haven't been well. I thought you were probably on holiday! So nice to have you back and hope you feel really well very soon.
Sandra - so pleased you had a lovely day out yesterday! Family times are so precious. x
Anne - only just read last night about your little grandson's favourite 5th birthday present. Just so typical but so lovely!
Lynne hope the neuralgia and aches are easier today.
Barbiepinkfairy - hope the young entrepreneurs made lots of money! Good for them. We had a very quiet village yesterday as lots of roads were closed for Iron Man UK. They were not near us so didn't see them. Didn't fancy the swim in Anglezarke though!
Must stop rambling on and will close with love to Pam and Robbie, Norah, Steph, Alson, Lynda, Brenda, Julie L, Janet, Margaret, Tina, Gail, Tres, Tany, Ita , Yorkielass and all lovely friends on this blog.

Hi Sue, love the card today, the blue and white is magic.

I did have the show on yesterday but I was cleaning up the bathroom so I was listening - I'll have to watch the recorded shows to pick up on the techniques you used to make the cards.

You give us such inspiration, thank you for sharing with us.

The doilly stamp is so detailed I can't believe it. I'll have to add it to my wishlist.

I ordered the embossing folders yesterday so those should be on their way to me and I can't wait to have a play with them.

Craftihappiness to you all, love from Pearl.

This is beautiful Sue. Love the doily stamped background and the colours. I've missed a week of commenting as I've been on holiday - was able to receive your daily email though and I bought two more of your first release die sets while away. Crafty thoughts NEVER go on holiday!

Hi Sue

I really enjoyed yesterday's shows and today's card has really made me smile! My favourite colour cardstock- I agree with an earlier comment that the white emboss resembles a porcelain- and the 2 stamp sets I loved the most. I know where this months stamp budget is going!

Good luck EVERYONE in the die draw :-)

Ita, I hope you recover soon enough to be let out of hospital, Tina I hope you're not in too much pain, Lindsay hopefully you're feeling less beat up after your mammoth bale shifting effort and hugs all round to Pam & Robbie (& Oscar- especially from Billy), Anne, Alison, Norah, Yorkielass June, Lancs Steph, Lynda, Mrs B, our Sue and a special hug for your Mom, Sue! Love n hugs to all you Wilsonettes everywhere ;-) I'm in a love n hugs mood!

I've gone some very funny colours, my brother (who is also my PA) reckons my back looks tie-dyed! But I have had a shower today, sat out in the garden in my chair for a bit (easier than towelling my hair dry lol) and courtesy of a big pile of pillows am currently sitting on the sofa. Being sensible but desperate to start exercising those craft muscles! Billy very hot despite the wet bandana and not in any mood to assist. Lazing on his cold mat in direct line of the fan, letting out little grumbling noises as he sleeps, I've had to bring out the really special treats to get so much as a glance my way! I'm being careful not to drop anything important as I doubt I'll get it back, poor boy!

Crafty hugs

Not looking forward to the end of the week though as more storms are forecast.

Lindsay - hope your pooch is smelling a bit better now. My girls did enjoy being sprayed with the shower head.

Hi Sue
Stunning card love the colours, I have a friend who this design would suit her down to the ground.
I am a little later than usual as I have been using my phone but it has not been playing nice and kept leaving the page and my daughter's tablet was dong the same and as sitting at the computer is very uncomfortable it took awhile for me to write and try and read all the comments.
May I take this opportunity to thank every one for the lovely comments, love and hugs I am getting there slowly I have been pottering up and down the garden in this lovely weather it was the getting up and down that was the hardest part but it is getting better, I don't know of many Doctors that come out to do home visits anymore from when I have had to call for my elderly parents they either sent prescriptions or an ambulance but ours is not far and I only have to walk to the end of the garden to the car and can park outside the building.
Loved your shows yesterday I have been treated to the checker board one and will go for the bow one next.
Love and big hugs to everyone and thanks again
Happy crafting
