It's A Tuesday Two-fer

Hi bloggers!  I have a couple of Christmas cards for you today, both really simple so I thought they would be good to be shown together.  I stamped the dotty border down from the top of a piece of coconut white card and embossed it in gold.  Next I used the Art Deco Fanfare embossing folder to give texture to that piece of coconut white card for my background.  I stamped the Justrite Ornament twice on to Ruby Red card using a clear Perfect Medium pad.  I heat embossed both of them with gold detail powder.  I cut out the entire image using the Exquisite Circle die.  I used a simple circle die to cut out just the inner circle and mounted it up on foam.  I stamped the ornament a third time, but on white card and gold embossed it.  I used a smaller circle and cut just the centre sentiment this time.  I matted it in the centre of the ornament.  I added a Bakers Twine bow and a gold cord bow to the top of the card and decorated it with a small pearl embellishment.  I finished the card by piercing a white mat layer then adding a thin red mat and a final white mat.  Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8" in size.  Scroll down to see card no. 2.

Card number two was a request by blog follower Amanda (she also wants to see some snowmen cards!) For this card, I stamped the upper corner with my sentiment in black archival ink.  I cut a wide strip of white card and embossed it with the Quilted Flower embossing folder.  At the bottom of the card, I used some dotty red paper from my stash and added one of the Italian borders between the two layers.  I stamped and cut out three of the gingerbread men from the Justrite set called Applique Christmas Labels One on to kraft card.  I added some pearls for buttons and did some light colouring with pencils.  I mounted them up on foam and put them on the card like they were holding hands.  I tied a messy bow out of lipstick red seam binding, added a jute twine bow and some small pinecones that I had in my stash as well.  I finished the card with some a thin black mat and a double white mat.  I added white Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue dots all the way around the edge of the card.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 7 1/2" in size.

Don't forget to check the post from yesterday to see if your name was drawn in the die giveaway as not all the winners have checked it yet!  All for now, Sue x

Oh what a beautiful way to start the day - a two-fer and one of them a Gingerbread Man!
I'm so in need of inspiration this year to start my seasonal cards. By now I've usually got at least some of them done but not this year so thank you for giving me a start-shakeup.

Cameeli - slow down a little - I know they say NY is the city that never sleeps so you will need all your energy over there. Take big deep breathes and you will get everything done.

Norah - I missed you yesterday - hope you're OK. Please send me a little of your beautiful sunshine over here in Burgundy - I don't know what's happened to the weather this year. It seems as though it cannot make it's mind up as to what season we should be in so a little bit of that Scottish sunshine would be really welcome.

Sandra =So pleased you had a wonderful day with your son - I know how you feel about not spending more time with family but when we do they create fantastic memories which are so so precious.

Big congratulations to all yesterday's winners. I was so lovely to recognise some of my Wilsonette sisters on the list. I know you'll all more than enjoy your winnings.
Thank you Sue for all your generosity, patience, inspiration and love you give to us your crafting family. Hope you can now have a summer break to recharge the batteries.

Hoping that all in need are feeling a little better today so take care everyone and see you tomorrow.

Hi Sue. Ok, it' official, I am going to have to get the dotty border : ) I love the way it works as the bauble string. I love the gingerbread men, that red/white dotty card is great, works perfectly, must get some like that. Red/white makes fantastic Christmas cards and I also love kraft card so I am delighted with todays Two-fer : ) Well done for asking for the gingerbread men Amanda, and for Snowmen. Anyone looking at my Christmas decorations and also my Christmas stamps, embellishments etc. would know that I have a love of Snowmen. My family are shocked if I buy something that Doesn't have snowmen on it in fact : )
I remember you saying that you love doing cutesy cards Sue, it would be wonderful to see some more, especially Christmas ones: )
Thanks again for drawing my name for a die set. I was so excited last night that I forgot to email you until this morning!
Pam, sending my daily hugs to you and Robbie.
Norah, I hope you are ok, missed your comment yesterday, unless I am going mad. Remember this family worry about you when we don't hear from you.
Sending hugs to you Sue, to my special friends and to all in need. Take care.

Morning Sue and everyone,
Still haven't got over my excitement of winning a die set yesterday as I keep reminding my husband!
I have made a start on my Christmas cards and love these two this morning. I don't know why I love making Christmas cards so much, perhaps it brings out the child in me, as while I make them I often think back to happy childhood Christmas Days spent in my hometown of London. Looking forward to seeing snowmen cards too.
Lots of love everyone and have a good day.

Morning Sue and Wilsonettes. Hope you all managed a little sleep last night, what with the humidity, no air etc Im wilting like a soggy lettuce ! Goodness knows how you must be coping Pam !
I know Im never lucky when prize draws etc are concerned, but Ive been more than lucky this past year since I found Sue and Particraft. My luck has been finding a few golden genuine friends, and that is hard to find these days. I know I have Sue to turn to with crafting problems and if I need support, plus a few Wonderful Wilsonettes that show they care when its needed most, and they are the 'GENUINE' friends who always show their friendship, so that's where my luck lies, so thank you for making me the luckiest blogger : )
I now know I have to work longer, and make more cards to try and get extra funds to complete set 1 of the dies to help my projects improve so I can then start and buy set 2.
You have given us 2 beautiful cards today Sue, both so different but both so lovely, you amaze me everyday the way you transfer your idea's from thought to the finished project, I struggle trying to think of different designs to complete 5ish 6x6 cards a day to fill my small card quota for market let alone a card (or 2 ) to fill a year's blog plus all the extra 'show' cards !
Well I really have rambled today and dont remember half Ive put, so time to go !
Love and hugs to you all.
Love you.

Good morning Sue and everyone

Two absolutely stunning cards today I love the little pine cones as an embellishment and those gingerbread men look good enough to eat!

I have not been commenting but have been able to find time to have a little look each day although it has been after midnight most days. My father in law was taken into hospital and sadly passed away. My time has been limited as I have had everything to organise according to his instructions. Being 99 years old and a WW2 veteran he knew exactly what he wanted, and I have seen to it that is what he had.

Pam so pleased that Robbie is keeping positive, I can well understand his delight at seeing his corgi, we have two and they are very special little dogs. Is there some way I could send him a get well message from my two corgis do you think? Perhaps via through you and email perhaps Sue could give you my email do you think?

Love to everyone I have missed you all especially Pam, Cameeli, Yorkielass, Lynda and Steph.

My heartfelt thanks to Tina for your wonderful support.

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Card number 1 reminds me of the pendulum on a grandfather clock, i am just waiting for it to swing. I think a big red bow at the top of the card would just finish this one of to perfection(but i like bows). The 2nd card is probably my favourite as it is so cute. I love the wee gingerbread men and the craft card is just spot on for making them. I love how you have incorporated the little fir cones as a topper for the bow. Thank you Sue for making me smile today with your beautiful cards.
Cameeli flower, i hope you have a ball in New York, one thing is for sure, you will have one lasting happy memory of your trip.
Bad day yesterday unfortunately but hey ho that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes and i have just got to take it. I posted just a well done to all the winners last night because i am really happy for each and every one of my Wilsonette friends that won a beautiful new die. I truly really hope that you all have so much fun with them, once you get over the excitement of winning. To see so many of my lovely friends names up there in lights as a winner really brought some joy to a bad day. I would appreciate anyone seeing a new set from the neck down in a replacement store to let me know where it is so that i can replace a few well worn parts.
Steph my flower, good friends are worth more than the dearest diamond or platinum. I am glad that you too have found these precious nuggets that are to be treasured. I am trying to send some esp of brainwaves(not were big brainwaves) to you to help with the smallish cards but i'm not too good on doing small.
Anne C, have a great game of golf today and i hope you meet some lovely new people.
Glad to see Sheila(Ginger) back again, sorry that you have been having a rough time. The special people that make up this blog are the best in the world and care so much. Their words and kindnesses do so much good and make such a difference to us. Glad that they have helped lift you Sheila.
Margaret(Corgi Owner) so sorry at the loss of your father in law. I bet like mine he had some stories that he could tell and some that he never could or would. I am so pleased that you did as he asked and wanted, so many disregard what the person wanted. Thank you for completing his last wishes as it would mean a lot to him. I hope that you will be able to look back on him and his part in the history of this land with pride and start to remember the good times. My thoughts and prayers are with you with cyber hugs being sent down the wires.
Well my cousin last night said that it was going to be a scorcher of a day here, well he was wrong and his information duff. It was so lovely yesterday when i couldn't appreciate it. I haven't seen this cousin in a lot of years but he came across seemingly earlier yesterday to see mum and said he would be back today to sort her garden. So last night he came and dropped off some tools and is coming back today which will be nice for mum both seeing him(because he always had a cheeky face) and the fact that he is going to bring beauty back to her outside. She loved her garden and all the plants and bulbs in it, but since taking so ill last year she just can't get out to it never mind do it and she so misses the colours. But the best thing is that one of her nephews has come back into her life and that to me is worth gold.
Sending gentle hugs to all our friends that so need one or want one,
With love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi Sue
Two lovely cards, really like that ornament stamp and the gingerbread men are fantastic. Have to confess to ordering your pinpoint checkerboard folder from Joanna Sheen yesterday even though I said I wasn't buying anything else for awhile!! Will never be rich but at least I'm happy.
Sending sincere sympathies to Margaret

Best wishes to everyone, Pat

Hi Sue,
I do like both cards today . The first one would be a personal favourite - I think that stamp is so versatile. Love the finishing touches too.
However although I'm not usually a lover of cutesie cards I think this would be a great stamp set to buy to use with the children on Monday afternoons! They could stamp them fairly easily and I have craft card which makes the colouring easier too! Would be less messy than last years snowflakes and glitter! They do love glitter!
Thanks so much for the inspiration once again.
Anne - have a great day's golf - my husband often talks of Fortrose and Rosemarkie! Hope you do well.
Steph - please don't stop giving us your thoughts - it was people like you and Norah that got me to join the blog yet you never knew that. Thanks for that x
Norah - the same goes for you and Tina and others.
Sheila Lampard - you did make me laugh with Timbuktu! Bet you've got Sue drawing plans already! Lol.
Another glorious day here - its so still as well.
Pam - hang in there! Sending you a cooling cyber hug!
Love Myra

Thank you LOL

Sheila-Ginger, sorry things haven't been going so well for you, but so pleased you're back in the fold again.

Margaret corgi owner, Sorry to read about the sad loss of your father-in-law passing away, he was one of the generation that made a difference to this country, and he would be very proud of you are carrying out is final wishes.

Norah, Really pleased your cousin has come back into the fold, more importantly he is making an effort for your mum, it will really give her a boost,

Steph, keep up with your stories, even the daily events, your pain (wish we could all give you a huge gentle hug and take it away) your struggles with the Guilding flakes etc. etc. Both you and Nora are like a tonic to a lot of us who read this blog. LOL

Nana Tina, hope the doctor was pleased with your progress. Please take it steady- one day at a time x
