Happy Birthday

Hello bloggers!  Corner, corner, who has the corner?  I do and eight of them to boot!  The corner from the Austrian Collection is gorgeous and makes such a beautiful card too.  So simple, cut four of them and glue them to a piece of pale lavender card.  Cut a smaller pale lavender square, cut four more corners out of coconut white card, glue them into the corners so that each of the corners overlaps, creating a different pattern. Cut a wider white mat for it and add decorative white PVA glue dots to the edge after mounting the entire piece in a diamond fashion.   Out of the pale lavender card, cut the decorative middle die from my new Salzburg die and mount on to foam in the centre of the card.  Stamp your sentiment and cut it out with the smallest die in that set.  Ink it with Shaded Lilac distress ink before removing it from the die and mount in the centre of your focal element.  I added a pierced white mat layer before finishing with a thin lavender mat and a final white mat layer.  This is definitely a case of a card where the dies do all the work, but they do it so beautifully, don't they!  The finished dimension are 6 3/4" x 6 3/4" in size.
If you are interested in any of the pictures from the roadtrip, please check Julia's blog (InkyFingerzone.blogspot.co.uk) this week as she was the photographer  for our fabulous adventure!
All for now, Sue x

Lovely card today Sue, the colours, shapes and textures work well together.

I've added these dies to my wish list, which is growing ever longer and I think I will have to win the lottery to be able to buy everything on the list now.

Who said crafting was for the thrifty? It costs a fortune to buy all the lovely dies and stamps and embossing folders on offer.

Thank you for showing it to us.

Craftihappiness to you all, love from Pearl.

Another stunningly beautiful card. I really love your new dies sets, especially the Austrian Collection. The Austrian Collection is so delicate and lacy. Your choice of colors today was just perfect, supporting the elegance of the dies. Can't wait to receive the new dies, don't know how long it will take in the post to the states.

Hi Sue
Awwww, what a wonderful card. Took my breath away when I saw it. I might have to buy myself a little get well soon present after Friday :-) having a fun old time trying to find things like respectable pyjamas (not old tee shirts with questionable statements on them) and choosing a couple of books and magazines, loading my mp3 player etc.

Special day yesterday, fur boy Billy celebrated his 5th birthday yesterday with extra chicken in his dinner and a big bone. He's got more toys than a dog should have so he got a special mat to lay down on when it's hot a couple of weeks ago. He's spent most of today asleep and ghe main bulk of organising for hospital is making sure he's sorted!

Okay quick peep at other posts then I must get on making this leaving card requested by Mr WheelyBad, I have to crack on with it as have to get Mr WheelyBad's birthday card done in case I can't next week. Sue, I'll be checking your archives I think as as usual, my mind is a blank!

Hi Sue

Beautiful dies, Beautiful card. A very pretty and frilly card.

Thank you all for your lovely thoughts for our anniversary yesterday. I was meant to be taken out for lunch, but we got side tracked looking for a new caravan. It was way to late to eat, so I bought some dies instead when I got home. That filled me with happiness as much as lunch would have done.

Big hugs, and a big gentle one for Robbie X

Kind regards :-)

Hi Sue

Me again!

I'm so excited, my Petit Vinery are here, all the was from Craftworld In Glasgow to Suffolk in one working day!!! Have a lattice bow stamp to play with too :-) WILL have a play before I go into hospital, it'll make me super efficient as I'll have to get things packed and ready by tomorrow night so I have all day Thursday to play.

Have changed my mind about 8 times over what my next purchase is, not easy as I still have some neeeeds from your first collection to pick up. I think I may have to put a lucky dip system in place!!!

Crafty hugs to all, take good care of yourselves

Good afternoon Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Well girls i have had the most wonderful day today and Sue was every bit as i imagined her to be in real life... beautiful, kind, friendly and full of fun. Sue is very much what you see on the television is what you meet in real life, so down to earth and normal, not like other big stars. Thank you Sue for all your hints and tips that showed us up in Glasgow, and having seen techniques up close i can feel an experimenting day coming when i get back from sleeping. I went up with the lovely Frances(fluffy cat)this morning and had a lovely day when we got to Craft World. Can i just say what lovely staff they have there and so very helpful and caring. Nothing was too much trouble for them and so kind, even to the wee coffee lounge that they have which was a very welcome sight. What a busy day for Sue as she had an awful lot of us each session and they were packed out. We went to meet a superstar and we met one, one in a Trillion that is. I think i am going to have a smile on my face for a good while. Thank you Sue as you just made not only my day but i think my year today.
I have come back to my hills beautifully bathing in the sun. SO tired now so i will see you all tomorrow,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hello Sue - I too am new to adding a comment - I have tried before but am not confident - like many others I am a huge fan of both you and Julia and will also be at your Taunton workshop -thank you for the new small bows which I love - although I already have some of your first release bows as a crafter who makes small cards these will be invaluable to me - please a gentle reminder to keep in mind crafters like me (those who only make small cards) although I know that you do try to accommodate us all and how difficult that must be - thank you for your inspiration

Hi Sue. Had a fabulous day at Craftworld today. Your cards are stunning and the demos were great. Can we expect a Scottish collection of dies yet? Lol. Janette

fluffycat said...

Hi Sue, firstly I must thank you for two amazing demonstration sessions today. So many hints and tips my mind is in a whirl. The photographs of your cards on the blog show us what can be done but to actually see and touch the cards gives them a whole new dimension, they are all truly stunning.

Norah very kindly drove us through and we spent a most enjoyable day watching Sue and looking at all the goodies on sale. I succumbed and bought the Magical Butterflies and the Itty Bitty bows. Looking forward to having a play with them all.

Back to today's post! I adore this card; the colours and the dies shout 'me, me' and am I not the lucky one, I have the dies to try and replicate it.

Wishing you Sue and Julia a safe journey home and I hope that you are going to have a rest for a few days.

Look forward to seeing you here again...... Tell Julie I promise to buy paint the next time she is here!!!!
