Clean And Simple

Morning all!  This one is almost in the clean and simple category, no where near my usual look, but I hope you aren't disappointed with it.  I think it is pretty nonetheless and I just loved the negative piece from the swirl in the Jewelled Flowers and Flourish set.  So I cut not one, but two of them out of my white background.  I overlapped the cut so it looks like one continuous cut out.  I mounted my negative piece up on foam pieces over a piece of moss green card and allowed the edges to peek out from behind.  This piece I mounted on a larger white piece of card where I stamped my sentiment in the lower corner.  I used the Awesome Blossom embossibility to give texture to the background.  This set also has a couple of nice small butterflies in it.  I covered a bit of white card with one of the sticky adhesive sheets and cut two butterflies.  I removed the backing paper then micro beaded the white butterflies for a bit of texture against my flat white background.  Piercing around the edges finished it off for a clean simple look.  On another note, I know that we have reached our blog candy target, but I am tied up all day today, but I promise to get the winners drawn and posted by midday on Saturday.  All for now, Sue x

Disappointed? Never, and certainly not with this beautiful card! Inspired? Impressed? Encouraged? Delighted?...... Yes, as usual.
And love your descriptions "to peek out from behind" instead of the more mundane "leave an 1/8" border". Super!
Thank you, Sue

GM Sue, yes I love the cut out swirls but I think I would prefer 3 of them - I like things in 3s for some reason! 2s look a bit odd to me. I must try using an embossing folder over a stamped sentiment - I would have thought the folder pattern would distort the wording but yours seems perfect, as usual -Rgs
