Hello all! This is another card that I planned to demo but it never made it out to the counter for a viewing. There is a bit of detail to this one so it may have been too long of a demo, but it is a fun card to make. I started with a faux letterpressed background. I inked the negative side of the Awesome Blossoms embossibility folder with Antique Linen distress ink. I think that using a tone on tone colour selection for this technique works best, but it is a bit more subtle too. The last pic shows a close up of the technique so you can get a better idea of what I'm talking about. The letterpress technique will apply the ink from your folder to your cardstock in the recessed areas. It adds more dimension to your backgrounds too. Once inked, I cut the piece on a diagonal and placed mounting foam on the back of both pieces. Next I cut a piece of dark brown card and stamped it with my sentiment using clear perfect medium. I embossed it with white powder so it would show up nicely against the dark card. I covered the entire piece with a self adhesive sticky sheet, peeled the backing paper off and covered it with clear micro beads. I put this piece so it filled the gap in my diagonal background (I find it easier to trim the sides once it has been put together) I added two thin strips of brown card to accentuate the focal area of the card. I mounted them up on foam for definition. Next I cut the flowers from the Crinkly Kraft paper (called Crinkle twist Kraft Paper on the Creative Expressions website). I cut several flowers from the Jewelled Flowers and Flourish die set and layered them up to create two flowers. I made the last flower by adding redline tape to the bottom and gathering and rolling to form it. I used a Snow White Dabber on the edges as an accent and pearl brads in the centres of two of the flowers. I added some dries clear glue to the edge of my rolled flower and some clear micro beads to it. I cut several leaves and a flourish as accents for the flowers. Around the edge of the background, I added some Cosmic Shimmer pearl PVA glue dots as a frame accent. I finished the card by paper piercing a dark brown mat. I wanted to make an earthy toned card, but this would look just as nice in so many other colour combos if this isn't to your taste. All for now, Sue x

Good Morning Sue,
Yet another "Stunning" creation.
As you said this could be done in so many other colour combinations.
Have a Great Day

Hi Sue, brown is not your usual colour but it is softer than black. Will have to try inking the folders, have not been brave enough yet. Love the design and using other colours would change he occasion.

This is really stunning, even by your standards. I love brown in cards, but this would work in so many variations. The flowers are beautiful, Carole Z X

Simply love this card, it can be adapted for so may occassions, and could be made suitable for men by simply changing the flowers for "man things" like using the heraldry or sprigtley sprochets dies of example. Thankd for the wonderful ideas they get my mind working overtime.
Take care
I Love this one Sue its Beautiful love the colour tones. I have the crinkle stuff you have used on the flowers, don't want to cut into it because when my order came the multi stamp set was missing the create a scene , I am still waiting for a reply from C&C about this.

GM Sue - I quite like this one - but I love the jewel flowers and flourishes which I have recently bought - think they are really versatile and will get lots of use. I have tried inking embossing folders and the effect is fab! If you haven't done so yet and are a bit nervous of doing so - just do it! You won't regret regret and you will wonder why you didn't try it sooner!
Happy crafting everyone

Good afternoon Sue
I love this card!
Every element...quite a lot of work went into this creation!
I LOVE the crinkly little (pencil shavings) flowers! Gorgeous!
Have a great evening!
Lara xxx
Just wonderful Sue! Love all the elements!x
Loving the card Sue! How effective the card is in dark brown. Its lovely when you ink the embossing folder before embossing the paper. With certain colours it takes away the "bright" in the white card making it a warm contrast. Love the flowers in the Krinkly paper, they look almost solid wooden petals! I like how you've added the bit of white dabber around the edge of the petals too. Stunning! xx Love Karen xx
Hi Sue, A great card got the krinkly
paper but wasn't sure how it would
look but these flowers are fantastic
will be trying these for sure.

Hi Sue as useual i am late with my comment i never seem to to be able to beat my hubby to pc in the morning.i didnt like the crinkle paper when it was on tv and not so struck when you did your first card with it. But i think i am changing my mind (just like a woman lol) as i do like this card the white efect sets it of and the faux letterset on back ground i really must get round to trying as i like it.Not one for dark cards pastel person my self but this one gets my thumbs up so might copy it for my daughter in law as she is a vintage type person and i think this one she might like.Maybe sue or julie might sell crinkle paper in smaller amounts. x

Hello Sue,
I'm thinking that brown is rather a sombre colour compared with your usual choices. Having said that, the lovely crinkly kraft paper flowers lift it beyond measure. This is the best close-up of the crinkly paper I've seen - like it!
