Get Well

Good Sunday morning!  We are back to one a day posts again, but I did forget to share something else with you during the blog launch.  Along with the new Slimline Collection of dies, I have also designed six new slimline stencils!  I think there were a couple of them that made an appearance during the launch, but I just wanted to let you know about them.  I found it really frustrating that none of my regular stencils in my craft stash worked on the slimline style so I designed a few that would work!  This is the new Slimline Chevron mask and I have used it here with one of our new Cosmic Shimmer products too.  Jamie Rodgers has his first line of Cosmic Shimmer products called Pixie Sparkles.  They are similar to my much beloved Pixie Powders, but they are more sparkly (is that even possible, you ask! LOL)  They have a larger mica particle so it does really give a sheen and sparkle that is out of this world!  Jamie has also done a wonderful video showing some of the techniques you can use them with and this is one of the techniques and I just loved the results!  I started by taping my mask to a piece of card and I used Clear Texture Paste and pulled it through the mask with a plastic palette knife.  Next I used the Groovy Grape,  Teal Marine and the Fuchsia Rose Pixie Sparkles all over the top of the paste while the mask was still in place.  I gave it a very light spritz of water to make sure all the powder was activated.  I let the mask sit for a few minutes for the water to absorb, then I carefully removed the mask and set it aside to dry.   I used the same colours and made a matching piece of card too.   Once dry, I used the Slimline Stitched Rectangle Frames and added a white frame with mounting foam.  I cut the Star Flower Flourish in white to use as a side accent.  Using the sparkle card, I cut the flowers to add to the StarFlower Flourish and the Get Well sentiment.  I cut a Decorative Flag die in white and added a black shadow to my sentiment then glued it onto the flag.  I tucked the end under the side of the frame and glued the flourish down the side of the frame after adding the flowers.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 4 3/4"  x  9" in size.  All for now.
