Not Older, Just Better

Hello my crafty friends!  Today's card uses the Luna Paste to create this shimmery background.  I used the Moonlit Mist Luna Paste and spread it across a piece of card using a palette knife.  I used my finger to smooth it out and remove any excess and then allowed it to dry.  Using the dotty border die from the Whitney Edger set, I cut it into the card five times vertically across the card.  I added a white backing card to it, then used the Double Stitched Ovals to cut an aperture in the middle.   I added mounting foam to the background to raise it, then added it to another piece of card.  I glued the oval cut from the aperture down into the centre of the recess.  I cut the Decorative Flag die in white and added it across the centre oval with foam.  Using a bit of leftover luna paste card, I cut the Not Older, Just Better sentiment from it.  I added a black shadow to it then glued it to the flag die.  I covered a piece of white card with a sticky adhesive sheet, then cut the Whirligig Flowers out of it.  I peeled the backing paper off of each flower and coated it with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz, then assembled the flowers.  I seated them in opposite corners and added a few leaves as accents.  The card was completed with white and wisteria mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2"  x  7 1/4" in size.  All for now. Sue x

Lovely different fresh inspiration for this morning. The sentiment makes me smile and how I wish lol I've used this inside a few cards as I was honoured to be chosen at launch to receive this fun die but I can't but help think, older and more creaky in my case! So if it's your birthday today have fun, if you're feeling low, here's a hug, and if you're feeling unwell hope you feel brighter very soon xxx

Good Morning Sue and all.
Another lovely card Sue and I just love that sentiment.
I bought the sentiment die last year to put on a card I was making for my eldest Daughters 70th Birthday and she was so thrilled with it.
I like everything about the card you have for us today and thank you so much for continuing to feed us with inspiration.
Hope you had more than one hug to give away Steph. I'd like one too.

Thank you Sue. I was fortunate enough to win this die recently so I am going to try this later today for a friend who doesn't do frilly. She does love butterflies so I'll add these. It will make a nice change from Christmas cards (lol). WakeyL

Hi Sue and everyone the die cut makes me think of bubbles too, what a fab design. It would be great for a New Year card too and let's hope the new year brings good things this time.
Anyway back to the card, loving the whirligig flowers and of course the sparkles. Just a fabulous and different show of inspiration for us Sue.
I would like one of those hugs too from any of the ladies sending them out. Thank you Donna xx

Hi Sue. Yet another way of using your dies. It is great that you give us all these different ideas otherwise we would all get stuck in a rut of using the dies in the same way all the time. Love the colour of the luna paste too.

Lovely idea on the construction of this and, with a few minor adjustments, makes a great Male card.

Hi Sue, a pretty card and I love the colour of the Luna paste. I do like the way you create dimension without added weight by cutting out and re-inserting the centre section.

Love that with only one die you have created this pretty background. This will work for different occasions and for a male card, too.
