Domed Snow Globe

Good Sunday morning all!  I have a simple card showing the Domed Snow Globe for you today.  This one is actually a second card made from the bits of another card (you just can't waste a good piece of pixie powder background, now can you?!)  I started with a piece of coconut white card and cut a bunch of clouds from the Twinkle Twinkle Cloud and Stars set.  I inked them ever so slightly with Tumbled Glass to give them a faint blue hue then glued them all around the background.  I trimmed the even with the edge of the card, the cut the Snow Globe aperture in the centre of the card. Using the domed snow globe treat cup, I filled it with some iridescent stars and clear micro beads and glued a piece of acetate over the back.  I inserted it through the aperture then taped it into place from the back.  Next I cut the Fairy Snow Globe scene die in white and glued it to the back so it showed through the treat cup.   I backed it with a piece of pixie powder card that I had left over from another snow globe card.  It used Lava Red and Emerald Green pixies.  I cut the Domed Snow Globe in black and glued it into place over the front of the treat cup.  White on white pierced mats and layers were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7 1/2" in size.

The winners of this week's Comment Game are:

Helen Bell!!!
Val Verrall!!!
Lynda's craft's!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue. I've seen this sample a few times now and each time I think the same which is maybe the dome should be lighter and the background a tad darker as the black card used for the dome takes over and the beautiful fairy fades way back instead of showing just how pretty and delicate she is. I don't dislike your inspiration I think it's just a shame that the dome takes centre point and not the fairy. Hope I've explained myself in a way that is understood without offending 😕
Many congratulations and Happy Sunday to our 3 winners of the comment game.
Have a lovely day Sue whatever your plans, wherever you are in the world xxx

Only been card making for a few months and love your dies, so disappointed that you are retiring some of your dies. Wanted to purchase the Seville, as I have seen a beautiful card made with this die, but was told that it is no longer available.

Good morning Sue,

Magical really does describe this card. How about this, Steph Cotterill: Make the outside of the snow globe an intense blue instead of black, and use Tumbled Glass on the sky behind the clouds ever so lightly. And I hope, Princess Pixie, while you are out surprising your sister and your parents, and Laine is filling your shoes, that we will hear from her. Hi Laine!

I have been cutting Jewelled hearts and Passion flowers in all the pinks I have, for Valentines.

Congratulations to all the comment winners!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Best,

Good Morning Sue. Beautiful card. I love the fairys too. I do personally like the colours you have used but I would try cutting the fairy in black or navy so she stands out. I don't have this die.... It was on my list...then my sister... knowing how much I love fairys bought me a magazine just for the free gift, it was a beautiful standing up fairy...but by using just her wings they made the most beautiful butterfly. So it was like two dies in one. Congratulations to todays winners
Thinking of our missing friends.... where are you all.
Best Wishes to all. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds

Hi Sue and everyone

A lovely fantasy card today. I agree that piece of pixied paper was too good to waste, it looks lovely behind the fairy. The clouds are so sweet.

Yippee.... thank you so much Sue for me being a comment game winner. Congratulations to Val and Lynda too.

I’ve only just checked into the blog as have been lost in my own little world making a birthday card for my hubbys friend. I’ve almost finished, but have come up with a very long winded 8”x8” design and I keep nitpicking. Just have some flowers to make, probably roses or camellias I think. Oh yes and to attach the word Mum, stamp a sentiment inside and then I’m done.

So it was a lovely surprise to see my name as a winner. Thank you Sue. X Thanks also to all who left good wishes. X

Love Helen xxx
