Mom

Good Sunday morning all!  I have just realised how close we are getting to Mother's Day (at least in the UK) so I thought I had better share some of those cards with you.  This one uses the Mom version of the Mom/Mum  die.  I started with a Pixie powder back ground using the Aqua Lagoon and Emerald Green.  I made a large enough piece that I was also able to cut the backing pieces for Mom out of the extra bit so it matched with my background.  I cut the Mom die in white and backed the letters with the solid part of the die cut out of the pixied card and glued them together.  I made a frame out of the Background rectangles, but cut it down in the corners to fit more to the shape of the word.  I made a couple of Passion Flowers to hide the cut and decorate the card.  The backing for the flowers was cut out of a sticky adhesive piece attached to white card so I was able to assemble them and add some Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz to the flowers.  I accented them both with white leaves.  White on white mats were used to complete the card.  The finished sizes are 6 1/4" x  10 1/4" in size.

The winners of this week's Comment Game are:

Jenny Briggs!!!
Eunice!!!
Sheila Hodges!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Hello Sue and all
The colours in the pixie powder background are lovely and I have them both, will try that combination. It is such a pretty card, I had to have the passion flowers from the latest release and they make up so well.
Congratulations to the competition winners, enjoy your prizes.
Pauline, I don’t know if this will help but I log on to Hochanda.com and go to the replay section where you can pick up Sues shows for a while after they have been on. It used to pixilate and buffer a lot but now with faster broadband it is very good, I will be catching up when visitor leaves tomorrow.
Enjoy your Sunday, it was a lovely relaxing one here
Hugs

Morning Sue. Don't I just know how close we are to mother's day that's why I've only watched half of a live demo over the past two days, making these cards for market today, I was hoping to have had this die to work with, but it wasn't to be, the only consolation is that I've others to make a few 'decent' cards with thanks to your adorable designs. I fell in love with this pretty die at launch and I'm still very much in love with it plus this delicate beautiful sample. Must go as things to do but I will congratulate our three lucky comment winners and send hugs to you Sue for an enjoyable day and I'll catch up with the shows on my rest day tomorrow xxx

Good Morning Sue. Beautiful card this morning Sue. Love everything about it. But unfortunately like so many others in this lovely blog family..... my Mum isn't with us anymore....she passed away 42 years ago. She was only 53. So Mothers Day is not as special to me as it was.....but I do know that being well appreciated by my own sons... kinda makes up for it a little.
Congratulations to our winners today Jenny... Eunice... and Sheila

Seems like you could cut the backing for the letters right out of the middle of the Pixied background, the part that will be covered by the white background. Thank you for telling us what colors you used.

Seems like one day a year is hardly enough to celebrate mothers who put their heart and soul and all their energy into raising new people.

Turned upside down, this card also says WOW.

I'll have to try flowers with the sticky and glitter.

Congrats to winners!

Best,
Donita

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

You can never fail to impress with a striking pixie powdered background and this one is no exception, i particularly love how you have utilised the waste to create a gorgeous background for the Mom lettering, simply stunning! I am one of the fortunate ones who still has my Mum with me and i would be proud to give her this on Mothering Sunday.
Sorry for being AWOL yet again, ive been a mixture of super busy and super fatigued from being super busy that i have neglected my blog duties....i havent even had the time to watch any of Sues shows yet, embarrassing or what?:-) , call my self a fan? Its a disgrace, how dare i show my face! I promise to treasure every moment when I eventually do find the time very soon indeed.
Feeling very sleepy right now, had a busy afternoon with my brother, his partner and my niece....they brought a birthday cake from good old M&S, not because it was anyone’s actual birthday, just because it had a yellow reduced sticker on it:-) Lunch sorted! I’m afraid that i have a wee confession to make mainly aimed in Saba’s Direction because Melissa my niece is now a size three and i gifted her two pairs of unworn pumps, one red glitter and the other pink glitter....i know you will be disappointed Saba but just think, with your varicose veins the shoes would look aesthetically more pleasing on Melissa’s feet:-) She also nabbed 4 pairs of sheepskin mules that I don’t use anymore, however, i understandably had to fill the gap with a new silver sparkle pair and a black pair:-) Just in case i have to go into hospital you understand:-)
Speaking of the hospital, i have yet another INSANELY early start tomorrow morning as i wait for the ambulance to take me to the Beatson Hospital in Glasgow....i have a PET scan to get in the morning and an appointment with my Oncologist in the afternoon so it will be a long day methinks:-( If the illness doesn’t kill me then surely these early mornings and long trips to Glasgow will:-)
Anyway, going to try and have an early night tonight, Darcey permitting of course....she has been waking me at around 2am in the morning for me to put out another feed for her which she then turns her nose up at!!??!?Anyone looking to adopt an 11yr old Tabby with a suspected Eating Disorder? All enquiries will be seriously considered.......:-)
Cuddles to all my blog besties, especially missing friends and those in need of a hugxxx

Love and crafty hugs
