Grateful For My Friend

Hi bloggers!  It's all about the Sunflowers today!  I started with a piece of milk card and embossed it using the Butterfly Dreams embossing folder for texture.  I used a light bit of Antique Linen ink around the edge to bring out the design.  I attached a piece of decorative dotty paper (from my stash) to the bottom of the card and cut a brown border piece and glued it between the two cards.  From the Sunflower Bouquet die set, I cut the sunflower stalks in green and added two different sized flower heads to them, adding medium sized clear micro beads to the centres which were also cut in brown.  Beside that, I cut the Julia die out of milk card and backed it in brown.  I cut the centre separately in the same manner and layered it on top.  I added it with foam to the card then added two smaller sunflower embellishments to the corner.  From the Mix & Match Friendship Sentiment set, I cut the Grateful sentiment in brown and glued it to the top of the card and added the "for my friend" in brown to the decorative paper at the bottom of the card.  I added a single sunflower with a micro bead centre and leaves next to the sentiment.  Milk mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4"  x 8" in size.  All for now,, Sue x

Morning Sue from a freezing very white Lancashire where one very cold 'keeper' is heading out on the first 4paws walk of the day ! But how warming happy and cheerful is your sample. Nothing gives more ray of hope than beautiful sunflowers smiling up and over garden walls to everyone walking past. While I hear the snow knocking at the window, your beautiful sunflower sample makes me long for warmer days so I can leave the house again, talk about stir crazy ! Lol.
So I send love hugs and much happiness to you wherever you are in the world (just hope you are warmer than some of us are !) Have a lovely day xxx

Dear Sue and Wilsonettes Trying to Keep Warm,

The sunflowers look like they were made to go with Julia, and that's probably because they were.

I was hoping to make birthday cards for our vacation landlady's 43 great grandchildren before I go, but Friday will be spent packing and cleaning. Spent my stamp shop rewards on a stamp positioner.

Hope all is well with you. As one of my new stamps says, "Everything is figureoutable."

Find beauty in the season.

Love,
Donita

Hi Sue,
What a lovely cheery card this morning. The sunflowers re lovely. The card makes me think of summer which is very welcome this morning as I look out onto snow and ice!
I hope everyone is staying safe and warm. I feel like a bit of a prisoner in my own home at the moment as it is so icy I daren't go out in case I slip. Mind you there was a beautiful sunrise this morning, it looked as though the sky was on fire - just stunning. However if the "red sky at morning, shepherds warning" is true, we're in for a shocker!!!
Love and hugs to all especially Pam, Elaine,Andrew,Maureen, xxxxx
