Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello there my crafty friends!  We are here with the first Wednesday Card Giveaway of the new year!  I started by cutting the decorative die from the Ella die into the centre of a piece of coconut white card.  I backed it with black card to make the design really stand out.  I cut the Victoria die in white and attached it across the centre.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with a hexagon and inked the edges lightly with Victorian Velvet ink before attaching with foam to the centre.  I cut four of the Nasturtium Cluster in white.  I shadowed each of them with one cut in black and then added two per side.  I cut the larger extra flower from the set four times for each of the clusters and made a 3D flower and inked the edges.  I cut the smaller flowers in the dusty pink card that was used in the mats (from my craft stash) and added small white pearls to all the flowers.  White, dusty pink and black mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6"x  9 3/4" in size.    If you would like a chance to win this one, please leave a comment on this post.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Beautiful card Sue, who wouldn't love to receive this. Pretty in Pink.
I hope you are well rested after the Christmas/New Year break, although I suspect you may have been busy on your projects.
Elaine, I know how worried you are but you need to rest. Pkease talk to your GP to see if they can help. I hope Andrew is able to go ahead with his treatment. My love and hugs to you all.
Myra, you have aroused my curiosity, what gives ???
Yvonne, you have had a very busy festive period, now you need to get back on track before you are laid low. How is Laine, have you heard.
Thank you for all the good wishes for Kelky and Bryan. They are very happy although their little puppy Dave is ill with an infection, high temperature and respiratory problems. He had 3 injections yesterday and if no better today will be kept on the Vetinary ward on a fluid drip. Poor little thing he looks so miserable.
Work was freezing cold yesterday, below 18 degrees, it was difficult to concentrate. I spoke to the guy who is in charge of the building and he said the parts have been ordered for the heating system but only the middle floor was warm. The amount of people coughing and sneezing was unbelievable, we will all come down with flu at this rate.
Very high winds through night, please keep warm and well. If driving take care. The sights in Ireland are terrible from the storm.

Morning Sue. The first Giveaway of 2018 is an absolute beauty, and the cluster of flowers either side are just gorgeous. It's going to be a a wonderful start to someones year when this stunning sample comes through the letterbox ☺
Had the most horrendous drive home from our peaceful retreat yesterday, Andy full of heavy cold and torrential non stop rain but I'm back to where all my lovely new dies and Pixies are waiting for me to play again.
I'll send my love and hugs and thank you's for today's inspiration xxx

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, such a beautiful give away card today, the Ella die in the centre has such flowing loops but the flowers are amazing, I have seen you do these so many times and each time they are perfect, someone is going to be a very happy person to see their name when you announce the winner.

Pam as always I reiterate what you have said above, but I am concerned that you are working in such freezing conditions, sounds like Dickensian offices, have they given any indication how long this will go on for, there is also a legal temperature that you are allowed to work in, not sure what that is anymore - I am sure they are doing there best to get the parts but unfortunately they could be in big trouble if everyone goes down with illnesses related to this, wrap up warm.

Also to everyone who is having to go out in the high winds and storms please take care.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Hi Sue,

I'd forgotten Wednesday means "giveaway"...what a lovely card to start us off and it's huge too, love the Ella insert and those cute little rosebuds you've made with the Nasturtium Cluster flowers.

The new Platinum mangle is cutting like a dream and I'm really enjoying using it, especially as the smaller cutting plates it comes with are so much quicker and easier to stack up for cutting..and it embosses beautifully too.

Izzy...one happy bunny!

Good Morning Sue. Another wow card for the give away today. This is beautiful I like the pink and black together. Today I am finishing my daughter-in-laws birthday card, I made a start on it yesterday. If I had seen this before I started I may be would have used your idea. It's lovely.
Pam take care in the cold weather. I worked in a tailoring factory all my working days, our boss was a miser with the heating. We walked out many times when it was cold. We had so many layers on it was uncomfortable to work. I think I am glad those days are over now. Best wishes to all
Someone is going to be very lucky today. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds

Donita
Thank you so much for my laugh this morning , what a hoot { a bomb with a crack handle } you are a hoot girl, just priceless .xxxxxxx.

Pam i hope you wrap up warm for work, it is not good sitting in the cold especially with a lot of germs flying around as well . They are coming back to my radiators on the 7th Feb what ! and to think i reported this fault in the middle of September . I hope poor Dave is better today.

Thank you all i purposely did not have a nap yesterday so i was shattered last night and did get a better sleep . I am waiting for Helen to txt me if the treatment goes ahead or not , the nurse yesterday told Andrew she thinks his tummy swelling is fluid and they may drain it off today so he can have the treatment . i will pop back later today to let you know hopefully with a thumbs up .
Take care Everyone

Hi Sue and Wilsonettes,
A very Happy New Year to you all I've finally managed to get to the computer to post a message. It's been almost impossible for me to do much at all in the craft room since getting my new kitten in November. He's half Siamese and, although he takes after his dad in looks (he's black and white), he has some of his mum's characteristics...the main one being that he wants to be with me every waking moment, making crafting or even typing almost impossible. He doesn't even leave me alone when he's tired as he climbs up me...you should see my legs...and curls up in the crook of my elbow to sleep...sweet little ball of fluff lol.
Anyway, what a beautiful card for the first giveaway of 2018, Sue. You're spoiling us already.

Sadly no treatment for Andrew ,apparently the treatment that was working for Andrew they took off him because it was funded , his Consultant has gone ape this morning because it has been refused for Andrew to have it again, the Consultant holds firm that this treatment will kill off all new cells . He says the pain in the tummy is because the tumor is growing . He is now going to speak to all concerned and try to get the treatment needed .
We as a family have to hang on in their for good news ,,,,,,,,,

Hi Sue, this sentiment was made for you as in my humble opinion you are the best designer of dies, best card maker and most generous of people with both your time and giveaways. Today's card is beautiful, I love the dusky pink card and the multiple Nasturtium Clusters look stunning. It is quite a bit larger than I would usually make but for someone really special and if I didn't have to post it then I think I could cope. Good Luck to everyone for Saturday's draw.

Pam - paws crossed here for Dave's speedy recovery and yes, June is right when she says there is a minimum temperature in which you can work - 16°C or 13°C if your work involves considerable physical activity.

Elaine - my thoughts are with you all and I hope the consultant can kick up a big enough storm to have Andrew's treatment reinstated.

Izzy - glad you are enjoying your new mangle.

Hi Sue,
Such a pretty, feminine card today and whoever the lucky winner of the giveaway is, they are going to be extremely happy indeed. Tha card is just gorgeous!
Pam, that is too cold to be sitting in! The minimum temperature is 16 degrees. I think it has to reach that temperature within an hour and after that they have to provide you with somewhere warm to work or you are entitled to refuse to work. It is not good enough to expect you to be freezing at work - how are you supposed to concentrate?!
Elaine, so sorry to hear Andrew couldn't have his treatment, let's hope and pray that they get it sorted quickly. Xx

Pam, please bundle up and stay free of germs. I hope your furnace gets fixed today. My furnace is also waiting on a part here at home and of course it is the coldest weather in years. I can only imagine trying to work in such frigid conditions. We have space heaters and the main rooms are comfy enough. I hope they are at least providing you all with them although they don't help much in large spaces.

Hello Sue,
What a pretty card! I love this one and have just the perfect place for it too!! Lol! Everyone has the perfect place for one of your lovely cards! I do know that! The touch of black just lifts it doesn’t it!
Pam - it’s just that we have been away from home since New Year’s Eve and I never like to say on an open blog that I am going away from home! Just call me daft! Many people do!
We went to a Country House Hotel in Cumbria with two friends and have enjoyed, peace, quiet, good food ( no cooking!) and fun.
However Internet there is a bit hit and miss and that’s why I was missing some days! Arrived home just after lunch today. Yes! The washer is on!
Donita- I would love to hear you explain to Airport Staff just what a Cuttlebug is!! Don’t mention Dies!! They will think it is a bomb!!
Izzy - I meant to say last night that I thought you ought to stop playing and have lunch now!! Glad you are having fun!
I meant to say that when my GC Handle broke a very nice lady from CE sorted it out for me really quickly!
Elaine - I’m sorry about today’s news! Let’s pray an update will bring better news.
Carmen - Saba - is here in Britain in what she calls God’s own County of Yorkshire - trouble is Internet signal in her village is not the best! I will pass on the fact that her absence has been noted!! Maureen is just having a really busy time with family and she too has had some problems with technology!! Not all of her making either!
Love to everyone,

Hi Sue and everyone

Wow, what a fantastic card as a giveaway. It's beautiful. The Ella and Victoria dies are gorgeous and the nasturtium cluster so pretty. I love the dusky pink colour too, it makes it so delicate.

Thank you to Carmen and to Yvonne for your comments to me and hubby. We are getting there... Slowly but surely hopefully. X

Yvonne, glad the fatigue was because of something you enjoyed. Hope you can rest. X

Elaine, so very sorry to hear about Andrews treatment. Let's hope it's just delayed rather than refused if the consultant can sway things. Thinking of you all and sending hugs. X

Pam, poor you freezing cold at work, as others have said there is a legal obligation to maintain a certain temperature, if not you don't have to stay. I remember many times in the eighties we were allowed to leave work when the boiler packed up. Sometimes we were told to come back later other times not at all. Haven't thought about that in years. Hope it's fixed for you now. X

Love Helen xxx

Hi Sue,
The recipe to make a beautiful card: cut the decorative die from the Ella die into the centre of a piece of coconut white card, add Victoria in white, and attached it across the centre, cut four or more of the Nasturtium Cluster in white and inked the edges lightly with Victorian Velvet ink . Don’t forget to add a little bit of passion and love to create an amazing card like Sue did. And she is giving away this beauty because she has a big heart.
Who doesn’t want to be the lucky winner? I am hoping to become owner of one of your cards this year, Sue. Till then, good luck all, hoping to be a little bit luckier than the rest of you, ladies :).

Pam – I cannot stand the cold. Hopefully the situation will be fixed soon, otherwise maybe you should stay home.
Myra – Thanks for the update on Saba and Maureen. Glad that both are OK, meaning healthy.
PP – Yes, I was asking about Laine, but don’t understand me wrong, I was just trying to be nice, I don’t miss her :)
Donita - Maybe you should have ready some giveaway “Best Wishes”, “You are the best” , etc cards for the Airport Staff instead to explain what a Cuttlebomb, sorry,Cuttlebug is. Good luck.
Elaine – I am out of words. I don’t know what to say and how to say it to make you feel a little bit better. I wish this painful situation with Andrew to be just a bad dream, and when you’ll wake up tomorrow morning everything to be back to normal when Andrew was a healthy, strong and happy son. Hope the doctors will find a way to give him the treatment that he needs. You know we are here for you. Love and gentle hugs for you and yours.

Warm hugs from cold Toronto to you all,
Still a newbie to Craft / not longer the newest, or the only across the pond Wilsonette

The Ella die is beautiful. However, I could be partial. . . I have a niece whose name is Ella! A beautiful card. Love the design.

Good morning all.
A beautiful card Sue,I never cease to be amazed at your productivity. All of your cards are wonderful creations and who wouldn't like to own one of them.
Ellaine, I am so very sorry for the news of Andrew being unable to have the treatment because of funding. Maybe we should start a petition.

Best wishes to all as we start our journey into 2018.
