Thinking Of You

Good Sunday morning all!  I had a request for this card and thought it would make a nice addition to a Sunday blog post!  I decided to go with a black and white colour scheme since it seemed to go well with the retro feel to this card.  I used the Intertwining Circle mini Striplet and cut it twice out of white and one out of black card.  I backed each of the striplets with the opposite colour that I cut them in.  Next I used just the outer cutting die to cut three even boxes in another piece of coconut white card.  I added mounting foam to the back to raise it on to another piece of white card.  I recessed each of the striplets into the cut outs, alternating the colours to create my background.  I cut the Zoe die out of black and backed it with black then cut the centre out to create a frame.  I stamped my sentiment then seated the frame over it and added it to the centre of the card.  I completed the card with black and white mats and my usual pierced edge.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  9" in size.

The winners of this week's Comment Game are:

Chris Curry!!!
Hazel Young!!!
June Horrocks!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.

Just a little note, but tomorrow starts the first die launch for 2016 on the blog.  You may have seen them already on some of your favourite shop's websites.  I will be giving away one of each of the die designs like always.  Hope to see you there, the fun starts at 6am!   All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue and the wilsonettes,
Sorry Sue this one isn't one for me but your card would be nice for a man which we always struggle with. The design reminds me of those hideous wallpapers and things that they brought out for your home in the late 60's early 70's. It could also be the constellations of the planets so would do fine for a child who was into exploring the galaxy as well but just not for me, sorry flower.
Congratulations to all the winners of this weeks comment game i hope that you have fun with your prize.
Well i am trying to keep my eyes open after another night of seeing all the hours and it is not that nice here and the clouds are deciding to have a rest on the top of my hills once more so i will say good bye for now sending hugs to all our Wilsonettes that could do with them. Tracey flower i hope you are feeling a bit better today as i know this new chemo drug is knocking you for a six so sending you hugs to just let you know that you are thought about.

Hi Sue

I am liking the more simple cards that you are making at the moment, although they are still larger than the ones I like making, and I will admit that I never use as many layers. But then I always make folded cards, and the largest is usually A5, I have made a couple which are a bit bigger, and I am just in the middle of making one which is A4 size. It is to be an anniversary card for my husband, I will try to send a picture when it is done.

Good afternoon lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Apologies for being absent for a couple of days, had a spate of seizures but feeling almost normal again:-), it looks like I've missed a couple of beauties predominantly featuring a personal favourite colour scheme, black. I watched yesterday's video and was very impressed with the finished results and the fact that you are encouraging us not to neglect our older dies.
Today's card is so retro and whilst I am too young to remember the seventies clearly, the trauma of our orange and brown wallpaper in the kitchen and the flocked effort in the lounge have scarred me for life! This die lends itself to similar colours for a truly vintage look, ideal for the fussy amongst us ie men, who can't appreciate a bit of ribbon, the odd flower or stick pins....imbeciles!:-)
I am so excited about your blog launch tomorrow that I will surely have difficulty sleeping tonight- whilst I have had a sneaky peek, nothing compares to seeing your own personal interpretation of the delights on offer. I never make a definite decision about my favourites until after your launch but I am afraid, very afraid, that my list will now be so gargantuan that it would be easier walking to the moon and back than working my way to the end of it:-( I will enjoy the proceedings immensely nontheless!
I've had an embarrassingly idle day today, my mum is out with my brother and nephew so I've had the house to myself barring two sleeping moggies- I did ponder polishing the leather sofas but quickly thought twice and decided to try and read that novel I started last week. The mental strain has left me feeling wiped out though which is so annoying, maybe it was too soon after my fits methinks....
Should have done more of that cross stitch that is staring ominously at me from across the room- my poor excuse was that the quality of light was sub standard even with the lights on...at this rate it'll be my mums 80 the before I get it finished!
Tracy, so sorry to hear that you are in pain but you're so right, nausea is much harder to contend with- you have such a refreshing attitude to the whole experience, we can all take a leaf out of your book.xx
Wheely Bad, those migraines are a royal pain in the bum! I usually get them before a seizure so I can really empathise with your battle. Our furry friends are such a comfort when we're under the weather though, Billy will sense you need him close by. Hope today is brighter for youxx
Yvonne, what a shame that you've been suffering too honey, it's no fun being wiped out after doing a few chores, sometimes you wonder if it's worth having a clean house and crease less clothes...it's a no brainier for me though, I'd rather be a physical wreck and have a spotless house, I continued to Hoover even with a double fracture on my knee cap and a cast up to my crotch!:-)
Sorry I've not messaged you yet on Facebook, not trying to avoid you...despite your dodgy reputation and even dodgier profile pictures....just been a bit under the weather. Be in touch soon my dearxxxx
Missing Beth, Rebecca and deb c, hope you are all well, get in touch soon girlsxxxx
Cuddles to Maria, thanks for asking about Brodie and Darcey. They are well despite their impending trip to the vet and Brodies two escapes yesterdayxxxx
Hugs to Lorraine, jan Theresa, melody, Saba and anyone else under the weather or needing a boostxxx

I have lost my mojo which is ridiculous with all my lovely new things but my brain is all over the place at the moment so crafting is taking a back seat.
I am trying to do my exercises, sort out money and get our food shopping under control. There is only so much I can do but I want to be more disciplined.
Going to watch Labyrinth so will leave you now.
Wishing good things to all xxx

Beautiful striking card. I had this die for Christmas and need to play. I now have the inspiration. I love how you've used both of dies for the sentiment in the same colour

Hi Sue,
Really like this card and love the striplets - it is one of two dies that I bought from the last collection and it is so useful for a range of cards especially for the pesky miles!
Congratulations yo the lucky winners.

Good evening Sue, what a lot of wonderful cards you have shown us this week, I'm not sure where the week has gone and how I missed catching up with them! I particularly liked Wednesday's card, the colours and the die are all gorgeous. Well I don't think I will be able to comment much again this week, but will try and catch as many of your die posts as I can, good luck to every one and I eagerly await your new creations x

Another beautiful card Sue, I really love the design of this die and card.
and I must say I absolutely love it in black & white.
It is going to be fantastic for so many cards including those difficult men's cards.
I don't know if is just me that find men's ones so difficult to do especially the men who don't have any specific interest.
Can't wait for the launch, I have seen them and ordered one but I so want to see
them on here and on your beautiful creations.

Hi Sue
Love this card. Black and white always a winner but could be played with to create so many different variations. Brilliant for men - got a sort of retro vibe to it methinks
Oh my goodness - on a scale of 1-10 how excited am I for tomorrow's fabulous ground breaking monumental launch??!! Well at least a 20. Still feeling pretty grotty with this 'bug' so news like that is a cheering tonic x
Not my usual long comment (yippee I hear you cry). As I said not feeling too good so struggling a bit today.
Lots of love to everyone

Hi Sue,

Oh I love this card. I must say this was my least favourite die when I very first seen it but as soon as you out you magic to it its really becoming a favourite.

Tracy I hope those pains disappear soon big hugs x

Yvonne I meant more my everyday mojo don't think I've ever had creative mojo so Sue's blog and pinterest are a must. I just really struggle getting out of bed what with the fatigue and pain. I just don't get it as I have so much to be grateful for, I need to take a leaf out of Tracy's book.

Laine sorry you've not been too good, I missed you when you were gone. So Brodie escaped twice!! OMG!! He's a little terror hehe!!

Hugs for all
Linda xx

Another lovely way to use this striplet. One for me to try perhaps using coffee and cream card as I don't do black.
Congratulations to the comment game winners.
Take care everyone.

Hi Sue

Love todays card, especially in the monochrome colours which I always think looks very elegant & opulent & as though it's cost a fortune in one of those little 'Boutique' style shops.
The mini striplet die is gorgeous & another to add to my ever growing wish list.
Liking the way you have divided the design into 3 panels which looks amazing.
Stunning as always.
