Many Thanks

Good Sunday morning all!  I embossed a piece of coconut white card with the Quilted Circles Pinpoint embossing folder.  Next I covered a piece of acetate with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I peeled the backing paper off and coated it with Mulled Wine gilding flakes.  I used a rubit scrubit pad to refine the flakes and remove the excess.  I cut a frame using the Ornate Pierced  Noble Rectangles using both black card and vintage gold card to create a thinner edge for the frame.  I seated the frame over the gilded background and trimmed away the excess around the underneath of the frame.  I made a flower out of the Perfect Peony, sugared it with Iced Snow then seated it on white tulle.  I added accents cut from the Splendid Swirls and the Faux Quilled leaves.  I topped it off with two matching stick pins.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Pierced flag die set and tucked the end under the floral element.  I completed the card by adding my matching mats and layers and then using white PVA glue to add a frame of dots around the edge.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  9" in size.

The winners of this week's comment game are:

Jan.moogie!!!
Tracy W!!!
Janice K!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prizes.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, beautiful card today, I don't think I have that quilted pin wheel embossing folder, will have to check this one out, I thought I had most of yours.

A little bit of snow on the ground here in Kent but I think that will melt once the sun comes up.

Hi Sue. I know that I'm going to be in the minority today but this card just doesn't "sing" to me, but life would be boring if we all liked the same things. I've never thought of putting gilding flakes on acetate though so that's another technique to go on the "must try" list. Missing you on the Hochanda weekend takeover. Hugs to all. Sue XXX

Love gliding flakes I must remember to use them more often. I do think the black frame is a bit too big so it overpowers but in real life that may not be the case. Good to see stick pins again :)
Thanks for the friend request Yvonne and now I can see what you mean about your handsome boys.
Laine, you area much tougher person than I. There is no way I could manage to shower every day. I admire your fortitude my dear in the face of so many things your health issues throw at you.
Well I didn't get round to crafting yesterday but did end up going through boxes of craft stuff making lists at 1 o'clock in the morning. I had loads of ideas watching Hochanda before that but struggling to recall them now. I want to do a colour cloud background with a four striplet frame though as that's a fab look.
Guess I had better clean myself up and get on with something. Hubby is watching tv in bed so not an energetic household today.
Wishing good things to all xxx

Hmmm, splitting opinions on this one today :) I'm with the group that's not too sure about it, think perhaps there's too much contrast between the black and the white, it may have suited a cream, or darker, base card better. Still, you can't please all of the people all of the time :D

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a striking card to end the week with- I have to say that I don't agree with the critisism of the black frame, I love using black as a feature in my cards because it makes a bold statement...the only difference I would make to this delightful card is to replace the coconut white card with cream, just a personal preference of mine. I will definitely be recreating this card, I adore the gilding flakes technique on the acetate and how lovely to see our perennial favourites, the stick pins and accenting 3D rose- they really finish off a card most beautifully.
Well, the snow is staying the course but it didn't stop my Mum, brother and niece travelling to Glasgow for the day, I meanwhile opted to have a lie in and a quiet day in the warmth of my toasty lounge:-)snow is lovely to look at but me and excessive cold don't make happy bedfellows! After a bit of housework...it's Sunday, and I felt an obligation...I decided to try and have a little read of a novel I just purchased- I used to be a voracious reader but ever since my head injury I struggle to concentrate and retain information so I don't tend to read anything longer than a newspaper article nowadays. However, I was given this book about angels and I find the subject just fascinating so I thought there's no harm in giving it a go. If you read it with an open mind it can be a rather uplifting topic and so far so good, the brain is like any muscle, it needs excercise or it becomes atrophied ...and I need all the help I can get in that department:-)
Maria, Darcey and Brodie are still keeping me on my toes- Brodie is like an excited toddler when it snows, he is fascinated by it and frolicks quite happily until the cold gets the better of him, he would appreciate a little furry body warmer to keep out the chills I think...and a pair of sheepskin booties:-)
Lorraine, I appreciate the compliment but I don't deserve your admiration, we all do the absolute best that we can under the circumstances, incl. you, and as such I don't think that I do anything that you wouldn't in my position but thanks anyway, you are so kind.
Tracy, thinking of you this week as you reach the closing stages of your treatment, you're doing wonderfully honey, hope the side effects are to a mini mumxxxx
Hugs to Yvonne, Beth, Rebecca, jan, Saba, Theresa, Linda, melody and Molly , hope you are all well. Hugs to all my other Wilsonette buddies tooxxxx

LORRAINE - glad you agree with me about my gorgeous boys x
MARIA - hope you have had a lovely Sunday as well x
LAINE - I thought I was being picky but it appears that you shared my thoughts on the selection of dies. I as trying to be upbeat in my comment yesterday and disguise my disappointment by congratulating myself on not making a purchase. I was also beginning to doubt my powers of imagination when I was trying desperately hard to see flowers instead of snowflakes. No matter how much effort it was just not happening. Still watched most of it and picked up some handy hints.
Did you see when Charlie managed to smudge the pattern on the MDF? If you saw it you will know what I am talking about - is it wrong to say that I found it quite funny?
I don't post very much on facebook these days but use it to satisfy my overwhelming desire to see who is doing what, when. Are your e mail details which are connected to your facebook details correct? If not update them so I can abuse you in a private message - lol.
