Just A Note

Good Sunday morning all!  Today's card is a quick little number to put together, great for when you need something nice in a hurry!  I started with a piece of coconut white card and used the Pavo Gemini die on the lower edge to give it a pretty decorative look.  I selected a piece of strawberry card (from my stash) and embossed it with the Bed Of Roses folder.  I sprayed it with permanent spray glue and dusted it with Diamond Snow.  I matted my white card on top and allowed it to peek out from underneath my dis cut edge.  For the focal element, I used the Toronto die, cut in white and backed it with the same strawberry card.  I cut two of the Petite Arched Adornments in white and added them to the ends to add a little decorative detail and fill the top of the card a bit more.  In the centre I used the Montreal die and cut it in white to use as a backdrop for my sentiment.  I use the Just A Note die and cut three of them and layered them up together, then sprayed them with adhesive and coated them with Diamond Snow for a bit of bling.  I added a few small Peonies and lightly inked the edges with Worn Lipstick before adding small pearls to the centre.  I pierced a white mat, then added a thin strawberry mat and another white at to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8" in size.

The winners of the weekly Comment game are:

Heather Rogers!!!
Julie Laz!!!
Lydia Jordan!!!

For the extra qualifying post of Wed. Sept.2nd, the winners are:
Maria Illsley!!!
Denise (mini)!!!
Jan Moss!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.   All for now, Sue x

Good Morning Sue

Pretty in Pink! What a lovely card and it definitely doesn't look as though it was a quick card which is a bonus when you need something in a hurry. I think it would be a good card to have in stock without a sentiment - just to be added when you know what the occasion is!

And what a surprise to see my name and Lydia's as comment winners I hardly ever win anything thank you so much Sue and congratulations to all the other winners too.

A lovely card and a lovely start to the day

Good Morning Sue,
This card is stunning, I love it, I must get the roses embossing folder it is lovely. I've just pre ordered a load of your new dies & wow they are stunning too. You are such a gifted artist I don't know how you keep coming up with all your card designs let alone the die/stamp and embossing folder designs.
I've been crafting for a long time and I can proudly say I have more or your dies than any other company. (Mostly bought this year lol)

I keep promising myself when I get my lump sum from my pension from work I'm buying all the dies I haven't got so far of yours and more lol.
Congratulations to all the winners and have a happy Sundsy.

Sunday Smiles to you Sue.

What a lovely fresh looking card you have given us today, I love that shade of red not too loud. As you say there are times when you need something in a hurry and the configuration dies are absolutely brilliant for a quick, easy, but elegant card, a must-have for everyone's die collection.
I think I have Sue Wilson Syndrome (in the nicest possible way) since having the order for an A4 wedding card it's all I've been thinking about from the moment the dog has got me out of bed (5am) !!! No bling (WHAT no bling on a wedding card) !! And needs to be sophisticated I was even going through designs in my head yesterday instead of watching hubby and dogs at training !! So I think I can relate to you Sue when all you do is think eat and sleep (occasionally ) craft lol, so I think I have a design in mind so will have a dummy run today.
Hope you have a safe journey.
Love and hugs.

Hi Sue,
This is such a lovely card. I got some pink card out of my stash recently but thought it was too harsh against the white problem solved - emboss it and glitter it!
I too have invested in loads of your dies this year and pre - ordered loads more of the new ones. Can't wait to see your ideas for them - some of them are just stunning.
You are truely talented and I really must get my cards out there - everyone says how nice they are and it's all down to your dies.
I haven't used anyone elses dies for a while now and thinking of selling them on - I'm a true convert to your designs.
Love it Sue - have a good weekend -I'm off to Newquay today so a week off work yeh!
Keep safe out there everyone and congratulations winners.

GM Sue. Lovely card, very eye catching adn congrats to all the winners. Yesterday was show day and I've had a lie in today after a 4.30am start yday! There were lots of entries which was good. I managed a 2nd for a decoupage picture and a 3rd for my decorated box. So not bad but no red cards this time. Hubby put 19 entries on the bench in the end and got 7 1sts and 9 placing. He won heaviest tomato with his weighing over 900g and longest runner bean so he was quite pleased. We are both shattered today though so will have an easy lazy day today hopefully! Thanks for GL messages. Appreciated.

Sunday smiles to Sue and the WW,
This is indeed a beautiful card and as others have said, a great one to have made up ahead of time. I have to agree with 'P' in Wales tho, I don't think this would be a quick one for me to make! However that won't stop me from giving it a go with the dies I have. I have everything but the ones from the Canadian collection (I know I can substitute something from another collection). I do so love the Canadian dies and am very eager to purchase them. They were on top of my wish list, then the Noble dies nudged slightly ahead. I've just received my 1st Joanna Sheen order! I haven't had a chance to play yet, so I've been caressing the package every now & then. I'm thrilled as It included a couple of the Nobles & the Pavo! After a respectable amount of time passes, (does 1 day after receipt of 1st order count?) I shall order the Toronto & Montreal dies. I suppose that window of respectability should include a payday or two as well. Drat!
Theresa, I laughed out loud at your story from yesterday's post! Is "oh my giddy aunt" a common utterance of excited joy in the UK, or just yours personally? Regardless, I love it! I've been known to squeal with delight when I find something unexpected in a store. Sadly, the last time it happened, it was over a particular flavor of potato chip (in my defense, it had been several months since any store had carried them). It startled the poor woman next to me, but my enthusiasm caused her to purchase a bag (which I begrudgingly had to take out of my cart because I had grabbed up the remaining 4). Did I mention they are my favorite flavor and that they had been unavailable for several months? Does that make me sound less pitiful? No? Anyway, who knows what I'd do if I came upon a display of Sue's dies - and on payday! It's probably best not to speculate.
Happy day and friendly hugs all around!
Rebecca in Colorado

Oops-pardon my manners! Congrats to the lucky winners & to Clare & hubby!

Good afternoon Sue and the lovely Wilsonettes,

It's been one of those days when I've been chasing my tail like a demented kitten but just thought that I would take time out to appreciate another wonderful display of flawless Cardmaking skills. I love the colour choice it would be a nice addition to the foundations range. The Pavo die is splendid, I love the intricacy and soft curves. What a great idea to spray the embossed area with glue instead of using a sticky sheet, it's so much quicker. I should really buy the Just a Note sentiment die but I get caught up with all of the new releases and sometimes forget until I am reminded how lovely the previous releases are.
My Mum believes Sundays should be a day of rest but try telling the mountain of washing and ironing that when the pile is meeting you out in the hallway and almost walking to the washing machine itself. So, took advantage of a lovely sunny day to clear my conscience. Thankfully Mum took Brodie and Darcey for their afternoon constitutional- I'd had enough of loitering without intent around the neighbours cars yesterday for over an hour only for Brodie to 'mark his territory" in the only way he knows how much to my embarrassment! He also broke off the lead again after lurching at a tree but I managed to move with uncharacteristical swiftness by pulling him down mid climb and carrying him back home again....tragedy averted!
I managed to make a start on my Mums birthday card only to discover that the fact that I don't have the Portugese Collection severely impeded my progress. I made a valiant attempt at finding a suitable replacement but to no avail. Well, needless to say, rather than choosing a different design to recreate I popped onto Icon- thanks for the tip girls, great prices!-and bought the Lisbon and Porto! Oops! Just don't tell my Mum cos I've had two deliveries already this week and three now on their way.....I'm in BIG trouble!...it's for a good cause though!
Rebecca, Brodie is indeed a cat....who thinks he is a dog! I blame myself for his confusion but it proves that will a bit of training and an iron will you can train a cat- though he does tend to lead me around where he wants to go admittedly. Scared? Him? I think not, he dashes around like a hyperactive child whose overdosed on sugar when he escapes, hence my fear that he will be hurt. Bin lorrys are indeed trash collectors- I couldn't think of a rude alternative to string you along with! I too share your uncontrollable urge to buy Sues dies and this blog only serves to worsen my affliction. I would seek help for my family's sake but I am far too selfish:-)
Saba, a tanker of Baileys? Your my kind of girl! I often partake of a gin based drip so I feel that I will fit in perfectly in the 'coffee' shop environment .as for Pashas bum, I didn't keep my sticky fingers off his cheeks, hence the restraining order!
Theresa, thanks for the references- I am most definitely genuinely friendly, however watch out for Yvonne, proceed with caution...that's all I'm prepared to say!
Congrats to weekly winners, jammy so and so's

Love and crafty hugs,

Laine1972xxx

Hi Sue, very pretty card, I love the roses background, I'm going to check to make sure I haven't sneaked that folder into my stash
- I was going to sort my dies and folders today but we have had show day so had to go to support my hubby who got 1st, 2nd and 3rd for his veg. So pleased for him as he's found gardening hard this year. I couldn't raise the enthusiasm to enter anything this time but if I start making now I should have lots to choose from for next years show.
Busy preparing for our WI centenary year show and tea party this month.

Congratulations lucky winners.

Love n hugs

Hi Sue

Simple? Quick? Maybe for you Ms Wilson! For us mortals, well, I think "only slightly less time than an attempt at a full blown SW masterpiece"! A great reminder on how to use those papers/ cardstock that appeals less (bling!). I have to give yesterdays card a quick mention. Just beautiful and FINALLY I have got hold of some alcohol inks so I can try a caught in crystal... I'm another wondering if glossy accents will do instead of the crystal laquer and as I have a little time before I will be let loose could the poster from yesterday who was going to ry It please let me know- I'm so sorry, I forgot who it is having just read two days of comments. At least I know now that Joanna Sheen stocks it should it not work.

Sam Smithard, have a wonderful holiday, I'm sure I won't be the only one who will miss your posts.

Thank you to all the ladies who have left me hugs and best wishes, it means a lot and helps so much. What helps most is reading all the banter and stories. Saturdays posts there were a few ladies who worked with kids- I did, I was a teaching assistant/ behavorial support at one stage before I went fully into sports. I had many questions about my disability, some more personal than others! Plenty of funny things said (me- can anyone tell me of some other words that begin with "F"? child- "Fursday!"), many wonderful moments of unexpected success, some sadness too, especially when working in a special school where losing children was a fact of life, difficult to bear but the happy times outweighed the sad there 1000 to 1. Maybe creative people are drawn to working with children?- I don't know the answer to that one but it's an interesting queston nonetheless.

It's the end of the week and the end of my post, I got a (part of a) lurcher on my lap and all is well. Hugs many times over to you all, special hugs going to Lynda and Annie, Maria, Beth, Lorraine, Saba, Rebecca, Yvonne and anyone I forgot who have sent hugs my way lately plus an extra big hug to Molly and her family. Biggest hugs going to Sue for her lovely cards and for having this special place where we all feel so happy being a part of. Wishing every single person on this blog a happy, crafty new week.

P.S. just had to identify pictures containing popcorn to prove I'm human... had to laugh!

Hi a Sue what a stunning card today, the pink background gives it a lovely effect. So pretty thank you so much for sharing. Sorry I was AWOL yesterday, moved daughter into university so we are all exhausted after endless shopping trips and 3 flights of stairs to her flat!!!! Take care.

Yvonne oh you don't know half of it with Maureen and Myra. Split personalities and the lovely Maureen will try to tell you she's tea total but she can empty the Bailies tanker in a night and then moves on to the gin!!! All virtual of course!!!
Beth aren't kids sweet! That was so funny. Now I suppose I should confess I dressed up as a parrot one year to sing happy birthday to my friend - this included walking up the high street and into the shop where she works! What a shock she got. Xxxxxxx

Hi Sue. WOW !! I love this card !! I really want/need the Canadian Collection !! I love every single die set in this collection !! It is so difficult to choose !! I am loving your Gemini Pavo die to. Just gorgeous Sue !! Yet more dies on my huge long wish list !! Your Bed Of Roses EF looks fab, especially with the glitter on it. I totally love the Toronto, such a beautiful die, and the cute little "just a note" die is Wondeful. The Petite Arched Adornment looks like such a dainty, beautiful die. A great die to combine with so many others and also so versatile used on its own to. Such a beautiful colour combo as well. I think today's card is just fab Sue !! Thank you so much for sharing it. x x x
I have to say I loved yesterdays beautiful card and video to. You created a stunning background with the "mother of pearl" technique which I think was a genius idea Sue !! I must try this idea for myself. I have not tried it up until now as I don't have any Alcohol Inks but now you have made a background using mica powders instead I will definately give it a go as I have some of these. Your Deer family are so cute and as with many of your other dies they have their place on my wish list too !! I am saving as much as I can still for Alley Palley but you are really making it so difficult for me !!!!!!! Thank you for sharing such beautiful cards with us Sue. (Ps : I have sneakily pre ordered your brand new Noble pierced square dies !! So naughty I know, but they are an absolute "must have" for me.) Sending lots of love to you Sue from Tres x x x

Congratulations to Lynda Mellor for winning the Wednesday card giveaway !! Well done, I am sure you will love it !! Lots of love from Tres x x x

Congratulations to all of today's lucky comment game winners !! Lots of love from Tres x x x

Sending lots of love to everyone from Tres x x x

Hi Sue & lovely Wilsonettes

Ooops I'm late commenting on your gorgeous card Sue, so sorry, hope you don't mind...I took advantage of a lovely day to prune plants & to tidy up the garden & shed then when I had finished late afternoon (well 6pm really)my good intentions to comment went skyward because after making Mr B's dinner I kept falling asleep.

I agree with Lorraine the Strawberry colour card would make a fantastic addition to your foundation colours, (sorry I know you have already worked extremely hard designing the pierced squares etc) it is such a beautiful & graceful colour.

The card today Sue is yet another delightful gem to add to my list of to do's, the only problem I foresee is trying to make this card without it being an absolute copycat to yours, but with your inspiration I'm sure to reach that goal.

Take care Sue Love 'n' (((HUGS))) to you & to all our lovely Wilsonettes Beth B x x x
