You Are So Special

Hello there my crafty friends!    The pretty periwinkle card to start the day off.  I used the Eternal Rings Striplet to create the background, cutting it twice.  You do need to line the die up with the previous cut so that you are able to actually just barely see the cutting edge through the pattern or you will get a thin line going done the middle of the background (it can be snipped away if that happens though).  I added mounting foam to the back of the background around the border edge and small piece behind some of the junctions as well (to keep it from sagging).  I mounted it on to another piece of periwinkle card that was slightly larger so I had a wider border on it.  At each of the junctions, I added a Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dot as an embellishment.   I stamped my sentiment in black and cut it into a strip and matted it with a piece of black card.  I added it across the background with a piece of mounting foam.  Using the Trailing Ivy die, I cut both dies in the set out of coconut white card then set them on a piece of wax paper and coated them with Cosmic Lacquer and allowed them to dry (several hours) so they had a shiny gloss to them (you can see it nicely in the close ups).  Once dry, I added them to the end of the sentiment strip.  I made a flower out of the Complete Petal Camellia die and sugared it with Diamond Snow for a subtle bit of bling.  I seated it on a piece of white tulle and added a satin ribbon bow tied out of thin Bluebird coloured satin ribbon. The card was then completed with a pierced border on coconut white card, a thin periwinkle and black mat and a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 6 /3/4"  x  7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Good Morning, Sue and fellow Wilsonettes. The sun is shining here this morning, after a wet and very grey day yesterday.
Like Heather, I seem to be missing some of the post too but from the photos I can see, the card looks lovely.
I have the Camellias and Eternal Rings Striplet, so maybe I'll have a play with these later, along with my Baby stamps and Dies.
I need to make some New Baby cards in readiness for my new Grandchild. My Daughter - in - law is due to give birth in a couple of days time..........

Hi Sue. Is it my phone or as Hesther. T just said, your detailed and gorgeous close up photo's seem to be uploading with massive gaps and some incomplete, and its so unusual for you to show measurements with your ruler, I too will try another upload later.
Im so sorry I didnt find time to join you yesterday, my morning wasn't the best, but had to kick myself into my 'den' where I spent all day (best part of 8 hour's) trying to do an A4 vintage wedding card order, now you know me Sue, the only thing vintage about me is my age, never 'vintaged' anything in my life before, so I sat with head in hands wondering where to begin !! So I just cut n cut n cut, thank goodness for your flowers and butterflies not to mention foliage dies, anyway, after sending the customer a photo before I got my cosmic glue to it, I got an email saying it was just how she had seen it in her mind, and thank you !! So apart from some ice snow I can get alllll the elements stuck down, then think of a verse to incorporate the future brides life !!! Another request from the customer lol. So I must be more vintage than I thought lol.

Talking of old, it sounds like mouting foam is just what I need lol, well if it prevents 'sagging' im buying shares in the stuff (maybe too late) but where there's mounting foam there's hope, right ladies ? Lol.
How I love Periwinkle and I know Im not alone, such a beautiful shade of blue. I actually got the eternal ring striplet background down to a tee, and it does look beautiful, but Im not giving away all my lovely pearls, my pvc glue looks just as good lol, I cant help wanting to be 'selective' how I use my little beauties.
The card is gorgeous Sue, and the ivy looks beautiful and quite different with the glossy accent covering the leaves, I need some more of that.
Well Sue, I will leave you with another apology, and wish you a lovely day whatever your plans.
Thinking of those unwell Wiksonettes, hope tomorrow brings you a better day.
Love from a very vintage Lancashire Steph xxx

A questionof reveryone, your help is required.
I am having problems with my computer in that my desktop and windows lock me out when I try to move from one app to another. My internet connection is fine and I have no problems there, but when I come out and click on an app, nothing happens. I have to close down by turning it out as I can't even log out in normal way. I have had my computer checked by an IT exert and he can find nothing wrong. I have been on all help sites and zilch, nil, nada about this in any help forums or help centres. Has anybody else had this happen in the past ans if so what did you do to correct it?
Many thanks.

I'm turning today's sentiment straight back at you today. You are one very special lady in every possible way. I don't think that all who call in just to see know just how special and if they just stopped and read and made a little comment they would really find out.

Today's gift Sue is so so so elegant. It has everything I love from your colour palette to the gorgeous eternal rings background - I think this one has to be at the top of my go to striplet list - and to finish your beautiful flower die. I would love this to arrive on my doorstep any day.

I hope that all who are in pain and suffering that your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Good Morning Sue,

What a striking card to end the week with, I love the periwinkle, it reminds me of spring and flowers.
I bought some Noble dies yesterday, the pierced rectangles are a particular fave of mine so I can't wait to road test them- hopefully they will arrive in time for my birthday on Monday but the Royal Mail delivery service leaves a lot to be desired.
My attempts to encourage my Mum to make me a card have fallen on deaf ears, she bought one yesterday.....the shame of it!
I, on the other hand, am going to spend the afternoon rustling up a couple for my brothers birthday next Saturday which will be fun....excuse me while I adjust my halo!:-)

Hi Sue,
Well today's card is just a dream! I love it. I love everything about it from the gorgeous periwinkle to the the tiniest pearl! I will be giving this one a go with perhaps a little twist!
Thank you for another week of lovely cards! How do you do it?
Cheryl - we miss you! Have you tried simply googling your problem - sometimes that helps as there is usually someone somewhere who has had the same problem! You may have tried that already but it's all I can think of! Xx
Love to all,
Myra xxx

Hi Sue,
Absolutely gorgeous. Love this Striplet and it is really quite easy to cut as a background and looks fabulous decorated with the "pearls". The glazed ivy is definitely one to try as it looks stunning here as does the bling on the flower.
