You Are So Special

Hello there my crafty friends!    The pretty periwinkle card to start the day off.  I used the Eternal Rings Striplet to create the background, cutting it twice.  You do need to line the die up with the previous cut so that you are able to actually just barely see the cutting edge through the pattern or you will get a thin line going done the middle of the background (it can be snipped away if that happens though).  I added mounting foam to the back of the background around the border edge and small piece behind some of the junctions as well (to keep it from sagging).  I mounted it on to another piece of periwinkle card that was slightly larger so I had a wider border on it.  At each of the junctions, I added a Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dot as an embellishment.   I stamped my sentiment in black and cut it into a strip and matted it with a piece of black card.  I added it across the background with a piece of mounting foam.  Using the Trailing Ivy die, I cut both dies in the set out of coconut white card then set them on a piece of wax paper and coated them with Cosmic Lacquer and allowed them to dry (several hours) so they had a shiny gloss to them (you can see it nicely in the close ups).  Once dry, I added them to the end of the sentiment strip.  I made a flower out of the Complete Petal Camellia die and sugared it with Diamond Snow for a subtle bit of bling.  I seated it on a piece of white tulle and added a satin ribbon bow tied out of thin Bluebird coloured satin ribbon. The card was then completed with a pierced border on coconut white card, a thin periwinkle and black mat and a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 6 /3/4"  x  7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Wow Sue...I'm bowled over once again by your stunning creation...although purple & Peach are my favourite colours I just had to have this gorgeous Periwinkle colour way...for a long time I kept going back to JS to see if it was in stock...but alas but then one day Bingo and I must say it looks even more stunning in real than it does on screen. I have put this together with your peach foundation card and it too has blown me away what a colour combination...I really love the technique you used for the Ivy...I don't have this product but I will try it with Craft Glaze and hope that it gives a good effect...probably not as good as yours...anyways thank you again for sharing with us Sue...even when I'm not feeling too good and too fatigued to reply I just gotta check your daily gem you leave us with on my Ipad..Take care and love and hugs to all...Beth B x x x
