Enjoy

Hello my crafty friends!  I hope everyone enjoyed the blog launch last week!  I still have so many cards to show you from previous releases as well so I hope you don't mind if I post some of those first.  Today's card is one of my favourites.  You may have seen it briefly during the last blog die launch or at Ally Pally or even on the POTD shows recently, but I think it still deserves it's day on the blog!  I started by cutting an aperture with my Decorative Frames from the Italian Collection out of white card..  I backed it with black card to create a dramatic backdrop.  Next I used an assortment of various flower dies to create some pretty flowers to go around the top of the aperture.  The Camellia complete petal, the Delicate Daisy open petal, the cornflower and even the tiny flowers from the Blossoming Branch were all used.  I even added in some foliage from the Delicate Fronds die set.  Next I cut a frame using the Classic Adorned Square Noble die set.  I cut a thin edge of black card using both of the Noble square sets and glued it on to the frame.  I mounted it with foam over the aperture.  I cut the expressions die "Enjoy" in white and glued it to the centre of the aperture.  The card was then finished with a white pierced mat,  a thin black mat and another wider white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7" in size.

I thought I would include a pic of my Mom's 92nd birthday, which was last Monday (scroll all the way past the cards).  She is looking very well and yes, we did eat all that cake! LOL   All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue, wow you are so much like your lovely Mum, that picture is a real treasure, she looks fantastic and I would never have said she was 92, she looks so much younger. So pleased you were able to spend the time with her.

Now to the cards, yes I saw this on the POTD, and Ally Pally and believe me the picture does not do it justice, you have to see it to believe it, what a beautiful creation, that is what dies are all about, and yes I do 'enjoy'.

Have a happy Monday everyone, stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Hi Sue, omg what an amazing card. Love love love it. Great pic of your mom she looks fabulous. So glad you managed to eat the cake, real shame to have left any!!!. Lol lynne m x x x

Poochies asleep now after hubby took them over the park.Typical hubby though, they all come back covered in grass and blossom and I'm the one that has to hoover the mess up, cheeky beggars. Count down to doggie haircuts begins, appt booked for Wednesday morning so told hubby he has to help this time bathing the wriggling worms before he goes to work as payback for the grass/blossom. He's hoping he has to go to work early to get out of it, told him as the little b's are his precious princesses it's only right he gets to help pamper them!!! ( definitely not how poochies view the event). Thought cuz I'm short I'll cut an opening in the top and both sides of a swing bin liner then at least I might stay a bit drier this time hehe.

Lol and hugs to all lynne m & dastardly devious doggie duo x x x

Hi Sue, I hope you enjoyed your visit with your Mom, she certainly looks really well. Love the card, alot of cutting went into this card. Like you I love to make my own flowers, going to the effort of making a card, then sticking on shop bought flowers seems like cheating somehow. I've just bought the peony solid die, they've very pretty, think I'm going to have to buy the matching set - lol. Angela (UK)

Well what a fabulous weekend with the launch and I can't wait for my pre-orders to arrive. Love today's offering. First saw it I think on the POTD and though it a little different then and even more so now. Its has a different slant to your usual with all the beautiful floral colours set of wonderfully on the black and white. Can see this also with the flowers produced tone on tone, but this one does have a vibrant colour about it.

Love the photo of you and your mum and hope you all enjoyed the cake!!!!

Morning Sue

Sue your 'Mom' is looking wonderful and I only hope that if I'm still around at 92 I'll look half as good. Hugs to Mom on this sunny but still cold Bank Holiday morning.

I loved this gift when I first saw it and I cannot remember which show it was but it still has that beautiful impact. Beautiful colours for the flowers which bounce and shout 'I'm here look at me'. I have, as usual, a bday gift to make this week and I think it may be on the lines of today's gift.

Well as I've said it's sunny but still cold. When ob when will I be able to get out of these winter woolies and don some nice light summer ones. Did you notice I only exchanged winter for summer woolies.
Did anyone watch the last stage of the 'Tour de Yorkshire' yesterday afternoon. It was fantastic and showed Yorkshire in her full glory. A good finish too and no crashes and what a boost for the UK as the first time Yorkshire Tour and a member of SKY (the UK cycling team) won. Such a good advert for the country.

Usual Monday morning MR Tesco should arrive early and then I think a little crafting is called for. I wonder what the numbers will be today.
To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Sue, your mum never looks 92 - I think she looks at least 20 years younger than that.
The card you made her is absolutely stunning. I have ordered the dandelion set, because I could see some of them as stamens for flowers. Now I've got the open peonies coming to me too - the closed set is out of stock, so I'll have to wait for that.
Still one of the best ideas for flowers out there, the idea of open and closed sets is a brilliant concept and I have the others so I couldn't miss out on these.

I saw this card at Ally Pally and on POTD The photograph of it is stunning but to see it in real life as it were, it really takes your breath away it is so beautiful.

Sue I owe you an apology. On your last posting yesterday and I said I loved the pansies. Oops the eyes are not what they used to be. ( or the brain) so yes a BIG apology from me, I also love Peonies. We have some Red also deep Pink ones in the garden and they are just coming into bud, they always make such a fabulous display.
Hope you are having a good day, love and hugs. Brenda XXX

Hiya Sue,

What a fab photo of you and your beautiful Mum-I can see where you get your youthful good looks from, if only it could be bottled!:-)
Today's card really stood out for me during the recent POTD launch shows-it is a real break from the norm for you and I just love the colour pop against the black background. The cluster of flowers would work really well on scrapbook layouts too, so I must give it a try soon.
I so regret not investing in the Noble dies when they were on CandC so they are top of my wish list for sure.
Wishing everyone a happy, sunny Bank Holiday Monday-I am going make a start on some birthday cards today using some dies from the recent shows.

Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes
What better way to show off your beautiful flower dies than making them into the colourful focal point of your card today Sue. What a beautiful card for any occasion and that I know I would be very pleased to put in a frame as a piece of art decor as opposed to being "just a card" which I use in the losiest sense of the words. Sue we don't mind what collection you choose to show as all your cards are WOW's to us because they are truly fantastic. So glad your mum Jill had a wonderful birthday and all the more special in that you make sure you are there on her special day. Her friends at her morning breakfast club really look after her well in your absence don't they.
Well folks at Casa Cala ni Sith the moment I am busy papering and still trying to pack up mums things for the various places as I can't obviously take all her things. I called in Marie Curie to come and take away 21 boxes of ornaments, plates and other things and that is just some of it, I still have a lot more to go through though and pack up and get to new homes that need it so I shall say good bye the now from breezy Glenochil and sending hugs to all my Angels that are both on blog at the moment and not, sending wee prayers up for those that need them
Love and crafty hugs

Hi Sue

Firstly, thank you for sending us that bank holiday sunshine I asked for! :-)

What a lovely picture of you and mom. You are very alike- The apple never falls far from the tree! She looks amazing and if I didn't know her age I'd never guess at 92! Hugs to you both x

I remember this card, the multicolour flowers are so striking. I think a backtrack through earlier releases unseen cards is a great idea. Might stir up some mash ups of earlier and later releases.

Must wrap up now. I have had a pair levers made for me to make using my sewing machines foot pedal with my arm easier. It needs a good test in the next few days so I must go and choose a quick project to whizz up and prepare for it.

Have a lovely bank holiday everyone, hugs to you all - loads extra if you need them,
