Extreme Distressing Technique

Hi bloggers!  Today's video card is another one of my favourite techniques called extreme distressing.  I just love how this technique can be used to give a card a real shabby chic feel and it definitely doesn't have to feel grungy even though it is definitely distressed!

Buy from Joanna Sheen

The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

GM Sue. Fab card love the extreme distress edging. Must try that. Great shows yday with fab demos and samples. I did send in emails and got read out in the 7pm show and I recognised lots of WIlsonette names doing likewise and winning your masterpieces and lovely Izzy bags.

Wondered if I could ask if you would post a card I spied using the pierced rectangles. It was a shaped card, lilac in colour with a double row of pearls round the edge. Don't know if this was one of your samples or Johns, Julias or Debbies maybe? There were so many lovely cards. You have inspired me. Thanks for all your hard work. Appreciated.

Hello Sue and everyone

Another beautiful card, even with the distressed edges which I normally don't like.

I have watched a few shows from yesterday, but still have a lot to watch.

I did watch the last show at 7pm though as my hubby decided to cut the grass. I went running outside excitedly when my name was read on on air because I had emailed in. About ten minutes later I had to do it again even more excitedly because my name was drawn to win an Izzy bag.

Thank you so much to Izzy for donating her lovely bags to be offered in the draw. I wonder which one I'll get?...

In the shows I have watched so far, Sue was her usual brilliant self and I thought John did especially well too, sharing lots of really useful hints and tips. The samples shown were just beautiful. I had seen Debbie Stevens work on line and agree she is really talented and produces such elegant cards. So well done all round I think.

Have a lovely and well deserved trip to the states Sue, enjoy the time with your Mom and I hope you both enjoy her birthday.

Love Helen xxx

Yet another beautiful card and love the distressed technique. Am catching up on all the shows from yesterday - unfortunately had to work - but what I've seen fab shows. Tried to get in on the act to win one of Izzys beautiful bags, but wasn't as lucky as the winners - so guess I'll have to do it the hard way and dig out the instructions. The demos on the shows were brilliant and now have the hubby complaining that the memory on the sky box is too full of craft shows!!! Shame!!!! Anyway all the cards, dies, and other bits are great and have now been able to finish off some of my collections. Can't wait to see what the future holds for the next range!!! Soon I hope - though doubt the bank balance will be too happy. I'm still staggered as to where all your inspiration comes from but as usual thanks for sharing.

Hello Sue,
Not to sure about the extreme distressing! But this card would still look fantastic if distressing isn't your cup of tea!
It really is stunning and makes a real statement with or without distressing. Thank you for all your work and endless inspiration.
Hope you have rested today after yesterdays marathon.
Sending love and hugs, Brenda xxx

Hi Sue. WOW !! Another fab video and amazing card !! I really wanted to buy both the Greek and Caribean Collections yesterday but unfortunately my budget could not stretch that far !! I am very lucky that I managed to buy the Caribbean Collection on the flexipay, so the Greek Collection has gone on to my huge wish list instead !! I love the Santorini Dies. ( I hope I have the right name. ) Your Distressing Technique is brilliant Sue. Your card looks great. I will try this out myself as it looks much better than the results I get !! Such a lovely colour combo. I love your little Heart Corners too Sue. I think they look very pretty and delicate. More for my wish list !! Thank you for sharing another amazing card with us today. Take care. Sending you lots of love from Tres x x x

Hi Sue

I think this card is so beautiful, and I have to say that the distressed look is not as easy as it looks but you make it look doable.

your show were amazing and you must be exhausted.

Hi, Sue and fellow Wilsonettes.
Congratulations to all those that managed to get their emails aired and to the lucky winners yesterday.
It was difficult trying to watch any of the live shows over the web, as the streaming kept stopping, so I gave up in the end !!! I'm now trying to watch the shows retrospectively instead.

Today's card is absolutely lovely. I do like this style of card. I will catch up with the video tomorrow.

Best Wishes and hugs to you all,

Angela in Dubai Xx

Hello Sue
Thank you so much for the video on how you get your lovely distressed layers for your card! They do look like ruffled edges! The whole card is so beautiful. Your dies are so great and love how they are interchangeable with each other.
Thanks again, Karen

Hi Sue, I go 'hot and cold' with distressing, I'm not keen when cards are heavily distressed, but this looks really pretty. I will catch the video later. I caught one of the shows with your lovely dies the other day and I'd like to say that it was really good to see that the offers were reasonably priced. Too often they have huge die bundles that I never understand how people can afford! Hugs Carole Z X
