A Sneak Peek And Trade Show Pics

Hello bloggers!  I'll be showing a few days of sneak peeks for my Sunday ToolShed show.  The good news is that the stamps are absolutely gorgeous!  The bad news is that I will only be doing the two hour ToolShed show now. Unfortunately, we decided to drop the  5pm  from the schedule due to unforseen stock issues .  Justrite has released some new smaller sets and this beautiful butterfly is on one of them.  Isn't it stunning!  I decided to use some of my new die line to help embellish the card a bit and you are also getting a bit of a sneak peek for something that isn't quite in stock yet but we launched at the trade show this week too. Along with the dies, I have done some new additions to my A4 embossing folder line as well.  There are five new folders in all.   This card showcases the  new Art Deco Fanfare folder to create this divided four part background.  I matted each piece with a thin black mat and mounted them on foam pieces in a four square unit on coconut white card.  I used my Classic Rose set and made the filigree rose in black card.  I have done some videos for the new die line and I show how to create this rose in one of them.  They will be coming on the blog soon.   I seated the flower upon several pieces of the Quilled leaves cut in white and some black jute twine.  I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Bold Sentiment set and cut it into a banner with a black mat.  I tucked the end under the flower and added some black dots around the banner.  I stamped the Justrite butterfly on to periwinkle blue card with a clear Perfect Medium pad.  I embossed it in black for a nice contrast and cut it out by hand.  I added it to the corner of the card with glue dots along the body, allowing the wings to fold upwards for movement.  I made two pretty stick pins using our blank pins and some pearls, spacers and beads that I had in my crafty stash.  The card was finished with a white pierced layer and then a mat of black and a final white mat.  Really simple to achieve, but so pretty to receive!  Finished dimensions are 7" x 7" in size.

Before I go, I thought I would share a few of the pics that were taken at the trade show.  You just need to scroll down past the card pics.   There is a group shot of the team, then individual pics of Julia, Hels and Ali.  The last pic is of my new matching stamps for the Classic bow.  You should see it made up, it is just so cute!  They were released at the show along with the other stamps that match the die collections.  If you are interested in any, please just ask your local stockists to carry them!

Don't forget that you can pin any of the cards by clicking on the "pin it" button at the bottom of each post.  Start your own boards on Pinterest and save all the cards that you like!  All for now, Sue x

Looking forward to Sunday Sue. The show photos are great too.
Thanks for posting.

I think I'd like to do a trolly dash around a craft show!

Your stamps look a must have also, fabulous!

A small selection or storage container of beads? (or other fancy bits) that would fit on the plain pins would be nice for in the future? The idea of making the pins complete and dressed to match a card is really appealing but if I knew the correct beads that would fit on them easily or had a selection to hand, that would save time and I know you'd pick a lovely selection.

Gorgeous card as always and looking forward to seeing the embossing folders also.

Good morning Sue and all
Sue, we need to talk, how am I supposed to get my 'I need' list in order when you bring us such fabulous products that makes my decision harder? Lol. I thought I had it sorted which order I was buying things but it changes daily. Mrs B I think it's a sneeky peek of the Art Deco embossing folder and the stamp that matches the bows. Today's card is fabulous as usual and I love the rose and leaves, I'll be glad when the rose dies are back in stock. Disappointed that we only have the Tool Shed shows but two hours is better than nothing, I can't wait. Please can you tell us when we are getting to see these new products?

What a beautiful way to end the 'working' week.
A beautiful piece of Art. I love the colour scheme and the format is just beautiful.
Cannot wait to get my hands on your new emboss folders - this one looks fantastic. I'm a real fan of Art Deco. Jealous of Cameeli as she used her 'Umbria' die yesterday and I haven't managed to get to use mine yet - hoping for today. It's been one of those weeks when everything you planned just goes to the wall.
See you tomorrow.

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
I hope i get the beautiful embossing folders that you are bringing out this time. I tried and tried and tried to get the Heart Lattice and couldn't get it for love nor money, oh how i wish that you hadn't retired it as you make so many beautiful cards with it. I love the concept behind today's card as if you only had scraps left you could make this. Another winner Sue for all sorts of different reasons.
I see one of our playmates here is looking for her memory, well if she ever finds it let me know where. Point example of mine:- coffee tin in fridge, milk in cupboard, can opener with lid attached went in the rubbish bin and had to be retrieved. I get to the top of the stairs which is no mean feat i can tell you to do something and have forgotten by the time i have got up there what i was going to do. My memory went on holiday by itself and got lost i think, because it never came back. So on the look out for a new memory, new legs preferably 32" long inside leg so i don't need to take up the length, and new body that is not all wracked and ruined by falling or other things from school days. If anyone comes across anything in the list , please post it up to me as the postman knows who i am and where. LOL. From a dreich, miserable day here in Glenochil i hope you all have better weather where you are and have fun. Hopefully i will see you all tomorrow,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi Sue and everyone agian, its just such a lovely sunny day here, I just had to have another peek, but wanted to share with you, that yesterday I had huge butterfly print framed and installed in my office to cheer it up, butterflies are part of the theme for my Son's wedding too. So I am fluttering about with joy at this offering. I thought you might like the following:

Ten things that you never knew about butterflies

1. There are 15,000-20,000 species of butterfly in the world., of which about 3,700 can be seen in Peru.
2. Pacific Grove California calls itself “Butterfly Town” and has an annual butterfly parade. You can be fined for killing a Monarch butterfly there.
3. Butterflies have taste receptors on their feet that sense nutritious leaves to lay their eggs on.
4. Vladimir Nabokov the famous author was a keen lepidopterist who discovered the butterfly known as Nabokov’s Pug in 1943.
5. Butterflies can fly only when the temperature is between 82F and 100F.
6. Their wings are made of very thin layers of chitin, which act as solar panels and soak up heat from the sun.
7. Some butterflies live for nine months but most live only about two or three weeks.
8. Butterflies can drink but not chew solid food. They have curled-up proboscis through which they suck up nectar.
9. In 2008, research showed that butterflies may remember things they learned as caterpillars.
10. “And whats a Butterfly” At best , they are ‘dressed’ caterpillars. (John Gay, Fables 1727).
Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine, light and magic of the day.Norah will try and send some up to you!!

Hi Sue
Another stunning card today. Just love your new embossing folder, and can't wait to see the rest. Love the butterfly and the card you have used to make it. It is so detailed that it actually looks like a butterfly. Does anyone think that the jute twine look like a spider?. Shame that you are only on for two hours on Sunday Sue, and like Sam hope that you have a good presenter with you. Some of them like the sound of their own voices and go on and on. Cameeli how do you fit what you do into one day?. Thanks for the info on butterflies. Norah will be sending some sunshine your way. Still floods down here but the rivers are going down slowly. I'm early today - and what a day on which to be early! What a truly gorgeous card! I love everything about it - the colour - that blue is my favourite - the embossing folder - the bow - the pins and embossing the butterfly in black!

Steph, you " sounded " a bit better yesterday .Trust improvement continues - kee eep crafting!

Morning Sue,
Oh I love today's card and can't wait to see the show on Sunday..what a pity there is no show at 5pm though. I adore butterflies so this is right up my street and the colours you have used are gorgeous. Love the photos too. Looking forward to seeing the videos using your new dies.

Cameeli,
Thanks for info on butterflies! We had one which had been hibernating come in inside Christmas tree box! Was flying round kitchen like a kamikaze flyer, ( butterfly not me). We caught it in a box like the nice person on google said and returned it to garage ! Apparently it would have died using up its energy in the house in December!
Sorry if I've bored you all! Love Myra

I think if you shut your eyes Sue and tossed all the paper in the air your card would still look great! Using quality products and an imagination that thinks outside of the box all leads to great results. So exciting that new products are on their way. Even my children have commented at how pretty the bow die is! Still can't get the filigree one to complete the set tho! I'm still cutting and pasting them all into a kids scrapbook as a visual aid. Always useful particularly for those times when you've lost your mojo. The sun is shining here in the east...hurray!1 Have a good weekend. xx

Hi Sue. Hi Wilsonettes family. Sam, thank you for your lovely supportive words. Im a mess ! All I want to do is copy Karens fantastic idea of making a scrap book of dies, and start crafting again, but my concentration is with Norahs memory as is my mojo and its SO unlike ME ! Emotion is a dreadful thing unless its towards BEAUTY, and ALL I can say is "THANK YOU SUE" for giving us such beauty every day, and today's gift is outstandingly beautiful. Im as sad as Sonja that I have to record your shows Sunday, and was looking forward to.5pm when I can unwind and watch. But at least you'll be home after the Toolshed and hopefully unwinding yourself.
Sending love to you all.
Have a great day.

Dear Sue,
Just had to leave a message today. Sorry they are few and far between still.

I adore your card today, the butterfly is gorgeous especially stamped and coloured too. The flower and leaves are beautiful and soo delicate looking. I look forward to seeing your show on Sunday thanks for letting us know about it.

I look forward to your next set of folders, I love your first set.

Unfortunately I will have to just sit on my hands on Sunday or sit on my bank card as I've got bills to pay and little money in the bank.😞

Unfortunately my lovely craft shop has gone now, they went into administration just before Christmas it's so sad, I made the manager and lady who worked there a 'sorry to see you go' card each and gave them a tub of chocs to see them through the hard Christmas period. So there now is no craft shop for around 25 miles from here and I've no car 😞 . I'm hoping Julia will be stocking the new creative expressions range of dies and the folders too as I've no way of getting them. I can't afford to buy in bulk anymore not even with create and craft TV flexipay, so it'll have to be in cribs and drabs.

Best wishes and can't wait for your show on Sunday from Katie-Louise sweetlove
