Lilies and Love

Hi everyone!  A floral card for today and one of my favourite flowers too.  I started the card by preparing the background.  Using white card, I embossed it with the Couture Creation folder called Courtshop and extended the pattern.  I then cut a border using some of the edgeability die inserts.  I kept the edges straight but used the die to cut one side, then cut the mirror image on the other side of my border.  I matted it with a white strip so it would highlight the insert fall away areas.  I cut a large Labels 18 and edged it with Victorian Velvet.  Then I cut another one that size but in dark rose card to match my border.  I stamped my sentiment, then cut it out with a smaller Labels 18, but I knew I wanted my flower to cover the lower corner so I centred my sentiment in the upper corner of the die (they don't always have to be perfectly centred in the middle, do they!)  I inked it with more Victorian Velvet to give it a bit of colour.  I added the pearl Nestabling to the edge of it for a bit of glamour.  Next I stamped my Lily and embossed it in white.  I coloured it with a combination of distress inks and markers I had on hand.  (This card was done at my Mom's a while ago in Florida and I don't have quite the supplies there so it literally was done with what was on hand)  I added the flower in the corner between my two Label 18 dies.  A bit more bling was added to the focal element in the way of pearl swirls and a final piercing to finish it off.  I hope you like it!  All for now, Sue x
