Black And White Wedding

Hi there my crafty friends!  I had forgotten that I have a slew of cards that I made some time ago using Sam Poole's wedding stamp sets.  I had planned on doing a show with them but it never worked out that I could find the time.  This is one of my favourites of the bunch though.  I really like black and white  for a wedding themed card, it just seems so elegant, doesn't it?  I used a few pieces of white lace from my craft stash to create a border for my woven ribbon accent.  I won't go into the instructions for that here but it is on my DVD and there is also a step by step tutorial on the Creative Expressions website, just click on the link below and scroll down the page.http://creativeexpressionsdesigns.wordpress.com/sue-wilsons-ribbon-workshop/  You can see a close up of it below.
I just added a few of the white organza roses that Creative Expressions carries to the top and bottom of the ribbon accent ( I don't make these type of flowers as they are quite fiddly and so much easier to use when you purchase the premade ones and very inexpensive too).  For the main of the card, I used the CE Lattice embossing folder.  I cut three consecutive sized ovals out of silver, black and white.  On the white one, I had stamped the wedding cake in black archival ink and clear embossed it.  I had a few left over Fancy Pants swirls in my craft stash so I painted them black with the Eco Green paint and added them to the top and bottom of the ovals.  I added a few pearls and some small ribbon roses too.  I stamped my sentiment and cut thee small sizes of the ovals for these and added them to the bottom corner with a few pearls to complete my card.  I hope you enjoy the change to a wedding card for today!  All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue,
I am only now about to go to bed (bad night) and all I am doing is singing a song from my all time favourite film, 'My Fair Lady'. 'I'm getting married in the morning,
Ding, dong the bells are gonna chime...'
Such a delightful song and thats exactly what I think of your card. Its lighthearted but vivacious. Just like Eliza in her black & white outfit at the races. Your lovely florish reminding me also of her large brimmed hat, tilted off to the side: so elegant, so chic.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Regards Linda

That ribbon alone could hold it's own for a card. What a gorgeous design and very elegant.
The way your embellishments compliment the frame and painted flourishes is just outstanding. Those two alone would have been perfect, but that extra step of "I do" just seals the deal!
So very pretty and classy...

Hi Sue,
I agree white and black makes for a very elegant and classy wedding card.
I love the ribbon plaiting, I have your dvd and finally managed to get the hang of it myself, I used it on my parents 40th anniversary card. It got so many lovely comments from friends and family.
So I decided to use the technique the make Christmas wreaths on cards for my close family and friends. I have had so many thank you letters and lovely comments, I was grinning from ear to ear.. lol.
Thats what I really love about crafting, you can really make someones day, which makes my day too.

love and hugs,

Hi Sue, Another very classy card. I was trying to work out which die you'd used for the border, then I read it was real lace! - goes to show how realistic Spellbinder dies are, doesn't it! I am another who would have liked to buy the Moroccan dies but already have the Grand Calibur. Oh well, more for the wish list - it grows by the day! Am enjoying the shows but it's strange to see Sue's cards without Sue! You are missed!
