Anemone Dies

Good morning all!  I can spell "anemone" but don't ask me to say it.  I don't know what it is about that word, but it never wants to come out right!  At least the dies are lovely, I can say that.  Another really quick and easy card.  Just lay all your anemone dies on your base plate, cover them with white card and cut them.  Now you have the background for this card with the negative leftover piece.  I stamped my sentiment in the most open leftover area and clear embossed it.  Next, I matted a piece of decorative paper behind my cut out flowers.  With the actual flowers that I cut out, I removed the inner part of the petal leaving the thinner flower shaped piece.  I glued them in place over the flowers, but offset them between the cut out petals.  I added some black decorative buttons from my craft stash to the centres of each flower.  I decided to mat it with a piece of eggplant coloured card (aubergine, sorry).  I had just finished two all black and white cards so I just wanted a pop of colour (any colour would work here too).  I finished the card with a bit more matting and layering, but not a ribbon or bow in sight.  Aren't you proud of me? LOL  Don't worry, I'm sure I will make up for it later on by subjecting you to some sort of ribbon/bow frenzy when you least expect it (expect it!)  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue
Another wonderful card. The colours work so well together, with different colours this would make a great Christmas card.

A really beautiful card aaaaagain Sue, and I really like that there´s more people than me, who likes to use the negative parts of the cut outs. I have been told sooo often, that it´s me, who´s just stingy with my cardstock, when I use them all the time, so it´s good to see some more profesional do it too he he he.
Hope you´re arrived well and not too tired after the long flight. Have lots of fun.

Lovely card Sue, and I think this could be one of those cards to do when you need a card in a hurry as there is only one die.

I must think about where I put my dies so I can use the negatives, I tend to fill in the spaces with other dies so the negatives are put in the bin.

Lovely card

Good Morning

I hope you are enjoying your trip.

What a lovely idea with the anemone dies and the patterned paper, it gives inspiration for using coloured card and toning papers to do the same thing and get different results every time. I can't wait until tomorrow's post, you certainly have lots of great ideas.

I have no problem with anemone but for many years phenomenon was a no go area for me (interestingly, they have similar letters). I remember my Dad patiently trying to coach me but I could never manage to say it until I must have been well into my fifties (and I think actually telling someone I couldn't say it at the time!) when it suddenly popped out perfectly without warning and I've never had a problem with it since! So there is hope for you and anemone, Sue.
I don't have the anemone die (yet!) but if or when I do this would be a lovely card to try. I am having your blog sent to my email address so it is easy for me (I'm not a computer whizz by any means) to print out and keep all the ones I'd like to try (which is most of them!) Sue x
