Beauty In The World

Good morning everyone!  Ribbon overload here.  I have had this ribbon in my stash for ages and I have been trying to use it for a while now.  Not sure that it works here, but at least I got it out of my system! LOL  Sometimes you just have to give in to it before you can move on, huh?  I used the elegant posts in the corners for accents but I cut the top of them so they would create a nice corner.  The background was created using black card embossed with the Intrinsic embossing folder.  An aperture was cut from decorative paper using the Fleur de Lis rectangle die templates.  The sentiment was stamped and cut out with Labels four and mounted in the centre.  I made a flower using the same decorative paper and a spiral flower from felt.  I added a black organza rose (from Creative Expressions)  to create a trio of flowers of different colours and textures.  I love different mixtures like this, it just seems to make everything more interesting!  I added some leafs that I punched and ran them through a paper crimper for texture.  No surprise to see paper piercing though, huh?  I do have to admit that when I do a card and don't pierce around the edge, it doesn't seem finished to me.  It is kind of like a signature to me, like dotting the "i's" and crossing the "t's" so to speak!  Oh, and just in case any of you were going through any TWS (teal withdrawal symptoms), this one is for you (Lynne M) he he!  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue, The card is beautiful. I am a huge fan of this colour combo and the backing paper is gorgeous. I have real difficulties fitting 3 flowers onto my cards, and always end up with 2, which isn't as pleasing to the eye. I will be trying again today using this card's layout as a guide. With love & light Theresa. H

Hi Sue,
If I say that I am singing looking at todays card will that tell you what I think of it? Yep, good cos I 'love' it, including the bow.
As to what I am singing do you want some clues or do I just tell you? Ummm... come on you know me by now:-
Sung and composed (jointly with brother/friend) by Jackie DeShannon in '68, covered as a duet in '88 by Al Green & Annie Lennox and, surprisingly, Lennard Nimmoy (Spock) also released a version (thanks Wikipedia for that titbit). In fact it has been covered by approx 22 people. I say approx as multi celebs sang it for GAP advert in '03. Oh, Lulu and the legend Ella Fitgerald sang it too..
Any ideas Sue; anyone?
'Think of your fellow man, Lend him a helping hand..... And the world will be a better place...'
Yes, bet your singing it now, LOL, its.. 'Put a little love in your heart'. I love this song and I love this card.
What a way to start my day (and the first lines are for you Sue, thank you again).
Have a fab day Sue and all.

I just scrolled down the comments a little to make sure I was not the only one 'not really liking the ribbon' :D I don't like to criticize, the rest of the card is lovely and I like the idea of running the leaves through a crimper for texture. I'm finding myself piercing around my cards a lot more lately too, think it's contagious.

Hi Sue, this is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! And I love the bow! I looked at in close-up (as taught on this blog!) and the knot appears to have a kind of buckle I don't recognize, looks too real to be a die cut one, though I suppose it could be, but it's very pretty. I love everything in this card, it's a Sue Wilson masterpiece. Just thinking there should be a feminine version of masterpiece I could use - but mistresspiece would be SO not right!! Sue x
