Good morning all, I know it is so close to Christmas and I should be posting Christmas cards for you, but I have always been a bit of a rebel of sorts so no green and red! How 'bout pink and grey today? I like this card as it could have just as easily said "On your special day" and be used for a wedding or anniversary card, don't you think? I think the white organza flowers really give it a romantic feel too. I started with a beaded circle die cut in dark grey for my focal element. I cut a lacy oval die in a pale grey and layered it on top. The pink die was cut from the fancy tag die set then I cut it in half so that I could arrange the two ends to be peeking out of the top and bottom of the lacy oval. It wasn't quite long enough without cutting it and separating the two pieces. Then I cut two of the lacy squares and layered them in a diamond fashion. I stamped my sentiment before cutting the smallest one and inked it with Tattered Rose Distress ink while still in the die. I decided to do the layout on a diagonal cut for interest. The bottom half of the card was embossed with the Ornate Diamond embossing folder and then lightly sanded to bring out the pattern a bit more. I added the roses across the diagonal line between the two papers and added some pearls and ribbon which I wove between them. Still wanting a bit of that romantic feel to come out, I added some pearly swirly bits to the sides of my focal element. The card was matted and layered and paper pierced to complete the card (because I never do that, huh?) LOL Oh and that is not an oil stain in the corner, it is another of my infamous shadows, you can almost make out my head in this one! I know what is going to be the top of my resolution list in the new year. 1). Learn to take decent photos!!!
Shadow aside, I hope you like today's card! All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue,
Speaking for myself I am really fedup with Christmas cards and don't want to think about them again for at least a year ( well August when I start mine again )!!!
I think your card is beautiful and wouldn't have thought of using grey card unless it was for a man, but the grey and pink look lovely.Janet xxx
Gorgeous Sue....and don't worry, I think we all struggle with photographing our cards during the winter ! Carole Z X
I have all these dies now (picked them up at your last C&C showing) so I can try this cutting technique, thank you Sue.
Everyday I always start your blog by admiring the new creation and then I read yesterdays comments (love to see what everyone has to say - I'm not just full of words; nosey too! LOL..)
Nadine you had me in stitches, and I hope Bim was right Sue, that it gave you a smile!
(ps Lorraine you have to right click on picture and open a new tab/window to blow it up to see the hair. Its above the left stickpin. Sorry Sue, I'm giggling again imagining the card exploding! ROFL...!)
Have a sunny day all and ESP you Sue.

I love this card - just kept going back to it on the recording of your recent shows - I like it because nif evry layer was mounted on foam tape it would look mega impressive - must say that the photo doesnt do it justice to the real colours for those who didnt watch C&C
Sue
Sue another exquisite card, Lindlou thank you I did that after I posted yesterday. Have to say beginning to think that these new glasses were totally rubbish as I could not see any pink, so glad Jenny L mentioned that she saw the pink as sandy colour, (me too) so eyes not too bad. LOL and I have the cheek to comment on Sue's wonderful creations
Merry Christmas to All and special hugs for Sue and her Mum

Very pretty! Thanks for the idea to cut the die cut if it's too short to make it peek out of both ends.
as always - another lovely card, its a relief to see a not christmas card whenit gets to this close to christmas and mine aren't all finished yet!!
beautiful card sue. Love the matting and layering
You are so inspirational Sue - another beauitful card.
Grey and pink are so lovely together Sue - a great card. When I take photos of my work I use a large sheet of white card behind it, mainly to disguise my messy craft room, but it does seem to work. Might be worth a try. Regards, Anne Rx
It looks like yellow and cream with grey but still beautiful I have a lot of problems with photos, especially this time of year, as the flash goes off even when I don't want it to - grrrr! I have tried all kinds of things.
Anyway, keep up with the important crafting. Your photos look much better than mine do.
Elaine J xx
Beautiful card don't look pink at all in the picture but I have see it on C&C, so I do know what you did colour wise.
