Birthday Wishes

Hi bloggers! I embossed a piece of Bluebell card with the Rope Chain embossing folder to use as my background.  Next I cut two of the Herringbone Background in white.  I crisscrossed them and glued them together, then cut out two zigzag strips from the pattern to use as the outer borders on this card.  For the focal element, I cut the Vivian die in white.  I backed it with bluebell card and added a thin black decorative frame around the edge cut from the outer dies in the set.  I cut the Beatrice die in white and backed it in white then added it to the centre of the Vivian die.  I used the Belated Birthday Wishes sentiment cut in black and I nipped away the Belated part of it, leaving just Birthday wishes. The card was embellished with the Wildflowers dies.  I used Bluebell for the top layer, black for the centre and backed them in white.  I added white centres with pearls then attached them in opposite corners around the Vivian die.  I added white leaves as accents.  The card was completed with white, Bluebell and Black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are
 6 1/2" x  9" in size. All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue
Ooh Bluebell! I know I have seen you use this before but I have just realised how lovely that colour really is. I know I probably have loads of cardstock in my stash that is similar but Bluebell is now on my radar!
The Herringbone Background looks fabulous used like that. Got that die so will be taking full advantage of this idea! Beatrice and Vivian look
gorgeous together and with that little pop of black this is such a beautiful card. Of course the Wildflowers need a special mention - they are one of my favourites x
Happy Wednesday everyone

Hi Sue. How I love this time of day when it's peaceful and I'm left to drink in every tiny detail of inspiration. You've made the border so delicate but the main focal point is so full of beautiful shapes from Vivian to Beatrice - which look like large petals when placed long ways, I really love all your floral dies that we can mould and shape and sugar but I appreciate that your wildflower dies make posting easier due to them lying flat. What a way to start a grey day, full of colour beauty and a smile. Hope your day starts with a smile too xxx

Hello Sue and all
Oh that bluebell card is gorgeous. Reminds me, here in the middle of winter (I hate cold) that I have bluebell bulbs that I hope will be poking their little heads up very soon. Love what you have done with the herringbone background, will have to try that and can’t help thinking that it is a bit geometric and handy for those male cards. Love the dies used, great card and inspiration, thank you Sue

Beautiful card today and in my favourite colour (well bluebell, wisteria and periwinkle I love them all). I am off to Florida tomorrow Sue so posts maybe sporadic as I think we have a pretty hectic itinerary planned by my DIL. If I am not too exhausted I will try to pop in and see what your blog is up to, and who knows I may bump into you in one of the many malls lol.
