Hi crafters!  This one was one of my demos  from the hour show I did on this die set. i Feb.   In case you weren't able to view the show, I thought I would share it with you!  I started with a piece of black card and taped the Sunrise mask to the top of the card.  I used Midnight Blue, Purple Violet and Aqua Lagoon Pixie Powders through the mask.  You do need to be fairly generous to get the powders into all the areas of the mask.  Then spritz lightly with water and watch the colours bloom (even on black card!)  I removed the mask and lightly spritz it a bit more so the colours ran a tiny bit, giving the background a very hazy look.  Once dry (either naturally or with a heat tool, attach the Congratulations mini expression at the bottom of the card cut out of white card.  Next I cut the largest section of the skyline out of black gloss card.  I attached it to a piece of gloss white card and cut the circle out so the skyline stops at the edge of the circle.  I cut the two smaller sections of the city out of black gloss card and laid them on top of each other so they were both visible, then used the circle to cut them to shape.  I added mounting foam and layered them up on to the original to create the entire city skyline then cut the small circle in the set to add the moon.  The entire scene was added with foam to the middle of the card.  White and black mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue, this card is fabulous, the moody background is lovely and this die design is one of the best in the range, it can fit so many occasions. Like you I spend a lot of time making pixie powder backgrounds, time to use some of them up. Have a great day everyone. Bx

Hi Sue. What an amazing effect these new and different dies give to our projects. With a stormy night or a bright summer's day background to this skyline, whatever kind of background is chosen it can only look nothing but wonderful. I'm really hoping you have either designed more of these outline dies or are going to, countryside family or world type silhouette does would be so wonderful. A family hand in hand, a forest a landscape - wow how my mind is buzzing lol. I just love the inspiration you give us and can't wait to see what's waiting for us everytime I open your beautiful blog. Thank you Sue, for starting my day with a smile ☺
Sending much love and hugs for a great day xxx

Moonlight really does seem to have been caught in the dramatic clouds over the city.

Such a range of moods you can achieve by changing some of the variables.

Enjoy the start of your weekend!

Hi Sue, I remember your demo and thought the way you created the depth of the city was clever (but then that's the way you designed the dies lol). The background is as others have said, quite moody and the silhouette suits it perfectly.

Dramatic, moody and quite breathtaking. But that's enough about me, lol x
This is such a striking card. When I saw you do this on HOCHANDA I was bowled over but it looks even more spectacular in this picture. I know from experience that 'in the flesh' your cards are another level of genius and beauty which never seems to be captured in any picture. Would love to see this one in 'true life' x
Thank you so much for your continued dedication and inspiration - it really is appreciated enormously x
Love to everyone specially missing friends x

Hi Sue
I loved watching you make this card on Hochanda but it's great to see all the photos and have the written instructions as well. I was making pixie powder backgrounds the other day and thought I would have a go with them on a sheet of black card, it turned out ok but not as dramatic as yours
Sending love and hugs to everyone especially all our missing friends

I look forward to your blog every day and am never disappointed. Thank you.
