Heartfelt Thanks

Hi bloggers!  Today's card is focused mainly on using the Lucy die set.  I started by cutting it in black two times.  I cut them both in half diagonally and attached the pieces to a piece of coconut white card to create a background.  Next I cut one more in white and attached it to a piece of white card just slightly larger in size.  I matted it with black then a deep raspberry colour (from my stash) and turned it to a diamond orientation and attached it to the centre of the card.  I cut an Atlantic Ocean tag in white and backed it with deep raspberry, then cut a black backing in half to use as a shadow on the top and bottom of the tag.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with an oval and added it to the middle of the tag.  I used the Chrysanthemum die set to cut several pieces to create two flowers.  I inked the edges with Picked Raspberry Distress ink then assembled the flowers.  I added two flowers and leaves to the lower left of my sentiment to accent the card.  White, black and deep raspberry mats and layers were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Gorgeous card Sue, it's lovely.
Yes June I was back at work yesterday, new team, new manager new desk on the other side of the office. All change, what a kerfuffle.
June, just have to say your cards on FB were stunning, you are very talented.
Sharon, hope you got on okay at doctors, it has been a long haul for you.
Helen, take care of that shoulder if you go to AP,
Elaine, it's no wonder you feel the way you do, so much happening and you bear the brunt as the Mama of the family. Take care dear friend.
Laine, sorry to hear you feel so tired, missing your usual banter.
Tres, feel for you in your sorrow, pets become your family too.
Pat, enjoy your holiday, hope the wifi doesn't give up altogether.
Hugs to all, especially missing and poorly friends. Missing both Tinas, Norah, Wheeley, hope you are well.

Morning Sue. Gorgeous. I feel awful to admit that I didn't realise just how stunning Lucy was, to see her in all her wonderful glory cut out in black shows what an absolute beautiful design she is and it's only now that I've appreciated all the detail, it must have taken ages to get it just so, to the point where you were happy enough to allow it to go from an almost there to a yes that's perfect. So it's a "Heartfelt Thank You" back to you for making me realise the beauty of this pretty little lady and she really needs to be added to Andysclist lol.
Sending hugs your way this Thursday and hope your day is a good one xxx

Hello Sue,
I've been in crafting mode today and have taken John's advice on board! I've made cards I wanted to make and left them without sentiments for now! I had some cards I had to make for Birthdays but they are all done now! Just the small , well not so small, matter of clearing up now!
I love today's card and I really like the colours you have used! It's a lovely rich shade of plum and your flower is gorgeous too! I love that Die set! Patricia needs it - she will give in eventually! It's amazing how you have altered Lucy and completely transformed her! You are so clever at doing these things. You even have me using black now on a regular basis! Such power you have! Lol! Thanks Sue! Are you all set for Ally Pally ? I do hope you , the Team and all the ladies I know from here who are going have a really great time. It's certainly a lovely venue.
Carmen - you are welcome! It will be interesting to see how Saba answers your question! I think it's a three way split!!!
Pam - sounds as if you had to come down to earth with a bump after your holiday with all this moving about! Hope you do still have a nice view .
Lorraine - Sunday name today! I was so sorry to hear about Brodie and as you say cat fights sound awful without having to witness them. I hope the troublemaker doesn't come back. I don't think you have been so well, just guessing but maybe I'm wrong! I hope you've had some good weather to lift your spirits! We have Sue's new Die Launch to look forward to! I've got tidying up and ironing to look forward to! A woman's work is never done!! Lol!
Sending love to all those who aren't feeling too well and to those missing friends.
Love to all,
Myra xxx

Sorry late, Sue, computer had to go to doc, not much better (if at all) and £40 poorer!
Great card today, love the colour combo and the pretty chrysanthemums.
Pam - oh my, don't like change either, hope the dust settles soon. Echoing you as usual.
Theresa - so pleased your dog is okay and that it was a hernia and nothing worse, but still a worry.
Tres - heartbroken for you losing Fudge, all of the pet lovers on here will feel for you.
Laine, well, poor Brodie (and GB too) hope that's the last of the fights.
Cloud, fully recovered, has gone back to his carer and familiar places. It WAS for the best, but miss him - a hard call. Just had in a lovely old tortie/white girl with a facial tumour, called her Saffron as she has lots of golden strands, sadly not expected to have a huge amount of time left, but she purrs a lot and is eating hugely. How come she is said to be a stray?? Lost our gorgeous black boy Bob, totally tragic but can't say more here. We were floored.
Hugs to all who need one.

Hello Sue,
Brilliant use of the Lucy die as both a background and focal point. Raspberry and black look so well suited to each other. Your chrysanthemums look fabulous as always. All in all another beauty. Thank you Sue.

Hazel glad you had a lovely meet up with Tina Eldridge, looking on her blog it's obvious she thoroughly enjoyed it too.
Carmen, I buy the shoes to take me shopping to buy the handbag with which to carry Sue's dies home with! So you see they are all equally necessary!!!
Ladies forgive me for being brief tonight, I'm shattered. I've been preparing for a big party my OH is giving tomorrow. 70 guests at the last count and we are doing the catering ourselves. I say ourselves, but really I mean me! He has hired a venue and sent out all the invites but has no real idea just how much work it is! Typical male. If I don't get in to comment tomorrow you know why.
Love and hugs for you all

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Stunning card, absolutely love the colour palette, the raspberry card is scrumptious particularly when paired with the black which just makes it pop even more. Your ingenious use of the Lucy die is why i love your blog so much, there are always new and interesting ways of manipulating the basic shape of your dies, you show us a myriad of possibilities.
Had a really busy day thus far so feeling somewhat pooped tonight, had an early start for an appointment to get my fingernails and toenails manicured, decided to go for a sophisticated black with a coating of fine glitter....i know many on the blog will disapprove but i love the drama of a dark colour, especially on the toes. Felt suitably pampered and preened but then had to face the challenges presented by a supermarket shop, much prefer doing it online, find i spend much less that way too because you focus on what you actually need and don't have temptations at every turn. Much like our own Saba, i am a self confessed shopaholic, gleaning great delight from spending on clothes, shoes, toiletries, dies of course, the list goes on, and on.....however food shopping is a real chore:-( , and so tiring i find. Brodie loves the sight of a Sainsbury's carrier bag, he dives in with bum in the air searching for his packet of Dreamies.....what is it with cats and bags? They are obsessed, Brodie likes to be swung in the air whilst inside one:-)

P, you are a real diamond, you are so kind, considerate and generous and all your fur babies are so lucky to have you caring for them. It must have been so hard parting with Cloud again but Saffron sounds like a real comfort and I'm sure that whatever time she has left will be idyllic with you and Mr P. So sorry to hear about Bob, it's always harder when their passing has come as a shock, i hope that you don't lose any more because you've had more than your fair share of grief lately. Sending hugs
Myra, oooh, i thought that I'd done something naughty to be called by my full name!:-) But how could that be since i am such a good girl? You're so intuitive dear, i have been under the weather for a few days, nothing serious just draining, so I'm not my usual jovial self. However, despite the wind and odd shower or two, it has been relatively sunny which does indeed cheer me up, can't wait for real sunbathing weather though. I am super excited about Sue's die launch too, Yvonne is gutted that she has no wifi connection on holiday though because she's convinced the launch will start before she gets home....it's all she deserves though after choosing to abscond this week in particular, denying me the opportunity to grace Ally Pally with my presence again:-)
Saba, how many words do the Germans have for poo then? Your hubby is a naughty man wanting to name your pussy after a bodily function, i think your choice of little treasure is far more appropriate:-) We are shopaholic soulmates honey, i can totally relate to an obsessive need to spend....i have over 200 pairs of shoes and counting.....i really need a rich, health impaired, old man to keep me in the manner i so richly deserve:-)
Carmen, you have every right to be tickled pink after receiving some of Sue's fabulous dies, it makes me ridiculously ecstatic too. I quite like you being nice to me, it seems to have coincided with Yvonne's absence which is telling, she's a bad influence, i told you that her bitter, twisted and malicious tendencies would rub off on you! Ditch the troublemaker and stick with me honey, i make a much better friend and being Sue's favourite i also have influence, consider your options with care......:-)
Speaking of departed friends, Yvonne has told me that she is missing the blog and sends her love to all,,,,she thinks we care and have noticed her absence but who is she kidding?:-)
Hugs to all my blog besties and everyone commenting on Sue's fabulous blogxxxx

Hi Sue,

The more I look at this card the more I like it! I like the color combination deep raspberry and black. I like the flowers … not sure about their color. I would ink the edges of the chrysanthemums with a color close to the deep raspberry. I am just saying.
I read somewhere that: If you don’t learn something new each and every day of your life you totally waste a day that could never be regained. For sure I didn’t waste my day. I learned how to make a big background using a small die set. Thank you, Sue, for saving my day.

Elaine – You all are in my thoughts.
Saba – Smart answer. Enjoy your party!
Myra – You know pretty well Saba.
Laine – We have a lot in common: money spenders and yes, food shopping is a real chore:-(
The days when I get Sue’s dies are special for me. I cannot be mean even to you on these days. But a day has only 24 hours, and I am not that rich to order stamps and dies every day, so ... don’t get too comfortable, my dear lovely friend.

Hugs for you all,

A nice swirly and lacy card today. In nice colours that I wouldn't think to use as well. I am steadily building up my stash of foundation card, some wisteria and aqua arrived today. Just gorgeous. I have to say the Lucy die is growing more and more on me too.

Tres, so sorry to hear your sad news. As I'm sure others have said, you will have lovely memories though that will help in time. X
