Thinking Of You

Hi bloggers!  Today's offering is sort of like a buckle card but done vertically.  I embossed a piece of coconut white card with the Dotty Daisy Embossing folder for texture to my background.  I cut the large oval from the Geneva die to use as the frame for the buckle.  I added mounting foam to the back of it.  I cut the Belgian tag in white and stamped my sentiment and cur it out with the inside cutting die from the tag.  I used the smaller inside frame from the Swiss Background and cut it in French Navy card. I backed it in white and cut the centre out of it.  I ran a piece of navy blue ribbon through the three die cuts and then added my sentiment to the top of the tag.  I tied a double bow and added it to the top of the card with a white crystal sparkler in the centre of the bow.  I cut and embossed a thinner strip of coconut white card and added it to a thin navy border and attached it to the centre of the card with foam.  I attached my buckle down the centre of it.  The card was completed with white
and French Navy mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now,
Sue x

Beautiful card Sue, lovely classic colours.
Elaine, such good news about Andrews success with the shrinkage of tumour, the blood clot is a little worrying but they will get that sorted soon. Give him my best wishes and tell him to stay strong.
Tina, I hope Peters appetite has returned, even if he only eats small amounts regularly, big hugs for you both.
Lynda, you sound as though you are feeling better, hope so. Robbie is doing great, trying to walk without his crutch or cane. He is busy planning his spring break trip to the Grand Canyon with 2 friends. George is worried but Robbie won't be deterred, they are driving and it is 2 day drive each way. He needs challenges to spur him on with his progress.
Yvonne, hope you and Mum are feeling better.
Laine, I could hear the screeches down here in Hartlepool. Happy for you.
June, what can I say, you will be running in the Great North Run with my daughter this year.
Donita I post this early as I am up at 4 each day, can't sleep longer and I head off to work at 6.10 so it is good for me.
Hugs to all, especially I'll or missing friends.. My grandson told his Mum yesterday only 50 weeks to Christmas. 😂

A beautiful card Sue. I love that embossing folder, now will it be another die or that at the end of the month, will have to see if I can find enough pennies for both.
Sorry I haven't commented for a while, I had an eye op at the beginning of December and my vision is only just starting to be clear enough to see the computer for a little while.

A very happy new year to you and all the other bloggers on here.

Hi Sue,
Beautiful card this morning and so dramatic. I love it.

To the lady whose name I can't remember but was having trouble placing the shadowbox: if you put a smear of wet glue or a certain glue stick over your glue pads or tape it gives you just a little bit of flexibility to move slightly if you've misplaced whatever you're sticking. I have no flexibility in my hands and wrists so use this method a lot.

Crafty hugs to all.
Happy crafting.

Hi Sue!

What a spectacular card! Love that bow! I'm hoping you did a tutorial about how to tie a double bow. I'll go looking next. It's just not fair putting a dazzler like that on a bow like that on a card like that. Thanks for bringing this into the world. I think the vertical is genius. And it doesn't make me feel fat.

Pam, you must go to bed before the chickens. I'm wondering where your Robbie is driving to the Grand Canyon from if it's only taking two days. They'll have about 20 minutes to take in the view before they'll have to turn back.

I was going to ask whether there's a product in the U.S. cmparable to Pixie Powders, but I did a little Googling, and Pearl Ex might be one. Looks like fun.

Enjoy your Friday, everybody!

Morning Sue. This took my breath away. It's amazing. Your statement bow with the buckle gives the whole design such luxury - WOW !
First order of 2017 and it gives me the opportunity to proudly show your Retail Therapy shadow box. I sent a photo of the accessories plus a baby card showing use of the frame as it's hard to describe the concept to a non crafter and it's hard for them to visualize the concept, once she'd put the two together she loved the idea as it's for an 18th birthday. So I really have to wait until I can fully feel my fingers before I start cutting all the lovely girly dies in the set, either that or 'my keeper' will have to help under supervision lol, on 'blue finger'days using such tiny dies is impossible for me and only causes frustration so it will either be a laugh getting help or a hinderence lol time will tell, but I just knew this collection would be loved by those that order from me, so a great big thank you for designing them (I thank you but my fingers dont) lol.
On that note my daily hug comes your way hoping you have a good day xxx

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh WOW yes I say WOW this is stupendous, I too love the bow and the colours used, the embossing folder and dies too, this is one right at the top of the 'to do' list for me.

Sue I often wonder if you start with the front of the card - the dies, then work backwards or do you produce a load of bases and then work outwards, Oh I hope you know what I mean. Your talent knows no bounds I really do love this one.

Pam that is good news about Robbie, yes of course George, you and everyone will be concerned but he is a very determined man who has exceeded all expectations and more, go Robbie go and have a wonderful time. Oh and your grandson did make me laugh....only 50 weeks to Christmas.............

Tina and Peter, both in my thoughts - Elaine and Andrew, keep up the good work, and to everyone else who have issues.

Well I finished the 50th birthday card commission yesterday with the motorbike on it, I am really pleased with the way it turned out, my ordered die still hasn't arrived although it is on it's way but one of my friend had one and she popped round yesterday with it, how lovely was that. I did use the noble dies to do the layering and a frame so will put on facebook next week after his birthday.

Good idea about the wet glue or glue stick on tape, you see Sue, John, Julia and lots of others using it and I do myself it really does work.

Well best go otherwise this will end up like war and peace.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
What a beautiful card Sue in the navy and white and the finest of the ribbon shows through with it's delicate weaving. I love the Swiss and the Belgian die sets and have used them a lot since getting them. The background die always reminds me of row of wee crowns surrounding the perimeter of the die. Did you have a reasonable christmas and new year flower, i do hope so as you with a few others were in my thoughts this time as it can be hard to be cheerful and gay when you are feeling all but it. Anyway flower thank you for such a beautiful card to fire up our imaginations and sending you hugs.
Well we have it teeming down with rain here after the frost and temperature not lifting yesterday at all above -3. I never used to feel the cold but this past wee while boy have my hands and everywhere else been moaning about it. That's one down baack to college, one to go back to work but since auld grumpy drawers has decided to smit everyone else with the cold that he has and he has the "flu", that'll not happen until Monday now so another long weekend of him whinging about everything that he can and even what he can't, oh boy can Monday not come soon enough.
I hope that all my lovely wilsonette friends are feeling a bit perkier and just think the nights are drawing out again(yippee), which is the best part about this time of the year. Sending hugs to all my lovely friends who could do with, need or jsut want, they are yours for the taking,

Gorgeous card love the navy and white, so elegant. I just don't understand why people write such long posts about lots of other people. I don't know any other blog that has these sort of comments. Surely comments should be about your work and that is all, it is your blog after all.
